Thinking Of Selling Infinite Warfare To Own Modern Warfare Remastered? That Might Not Work.

It’s no secret that many fans of the Call Of Duty franchise are up in arms due to the recent controversy in regards to the newest game Infinite Warfare set to be released in November of this year. One of the most favourable games, Modern Warfare, released in 2007 is to be released with the newest in the series, however according to some credible sources you will need to have the Infinite Warfare disc in your console even with the Modern Warfare download.

It was the ones from World at War and they never got put up on the marketplace seperately pretty stupid really as yeah great to get the old levels as a bonus but tying it to the collectors edition limits the numbers allowed entry and effecting the player numbers. Don't think they ever came out seperately and it wouldn't suprise me to see them do the same, specially if they are now intending to make you keep the disc just to play the "Seperate" download.

This is how Dead Space: Extraction worked with Dead Space 2 on the PS3. I do believe there will be a complete Modern Warfare Trilogy though with an option to own each title separately on the digital front like 6 months post release of Infinite Warfare. This is nothing more than temporary market gouging. Just be patient if all you want is MW Remastered.

Again, other games have done this in the past. Dead Space 2 had to stay in the drive for Dead Space Extraction to work which was included with Dead Space 2. PS3 to PS4 retail upgrades require you to keep the PS3 disc in your PS4, even after a full install.

That didn't happen in the Dead Space example as it was a PS3 game working on PS3. No real upgrade or extra work.

Modern Warfare is a PS3 game going to PS4, updated graphically and with trophies.

Then again, PS3 to PS4 retail isn't so different except in this example Modern Warfare, while an update of sorts, is a different packaged game from Infinite Warfare meaning you get two games for $80. Going from PS3 retail to a PS4 upgrade cost $10 with titles such as Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Injustice. That wasn't giving you a different game. That was just giving you an update from the PS3 to the PS4 version. Again, this requires a disc to stay in the drive.

A CoD4 remaster is not that appealing considering the orginal still looks good and is HD. They're still using the same engine on CoD today that was used on that game. In fact, the remaster may play much different and that's not a good thing. Maybe if they sold it seperate would I buy it. It's pretty much all BF1 for me next fall and winter.

I doubt it , since Modern Warfare will release in October digitally you wont have a disc to play it. But you do need to own infinite warfare to get access to it . Makes complete sense dont see the logic behind all this rage. If you were the CEO of Activision you would do the same and would i. This is probably going to work the same way that Dead Space 2 with Dead Space Extraction works where you download the remaster but it does a check with the Infinite Warfare disc to play. If it can't access the disc you can't access the remaster.

Always thought this would be the case, everything is geared up so that Infinity War sells as much as possible - first you buy it because of COD4 then you can't resell it - so less pre owneds on the market meaning more new purchases for Activision... then a few months down the line 'oh hey guys, you can now buy COD4 standalone!'

The community will vote with their wallets to the tune of 20+ million sales again for the 8th straight year. Those that have continued supporting COD will almost all have the COD4 remaster and with prices/sales for day one some will get it for $10 or less over the purchase they would have made anyway.

Sounds like a great deal for current fans of the series.
