Activision’s Partnership With Sony “Off to a Great Start” with Call of Duty and Destiny

During Activision Blizzard’s quarterly financial conference call, Activision’s Chief Executive Officer Eric Hirshberg commented on the ongoing partnership with Sony.

So guess that means bonus content for Destiny 2 on PS4 and DLC First with COD 2016.

Its a waste of money if you ask me.

Yeah, sure it's great for Activision/Sony, guess it's fine for the people who actually wants the DLC for CoD. But imo it's a waste of money cos you know that CoD is a annual release, so why buy DLC.

Kind of the same with Destiny, the exclusive guns that you get, they're pretty much useless now, especially with new and better guns there are coming out with new expansions etc.

In the end, it's a gamer's choice of what they buy.

Don't look at it from a DLC viewpoint but from a bundle viewpoint. Winning NPD with those bundles (COD and Destiny) are how Sony now has a 1.2m lead in the US.

I think we all know that COD and Destiny will sell better on PS4 than any other platform with or without the marketing and exclusive stuff.

Agreed. Though many feel they otherwise would have still sold those units, I'm not entirely sure. Clearly their efforts in marketing is working out for those titles as they have a huge difference in units sold per title.

If Activision are making that game then whether its exclusive or not, it will be $hit.

Its like Foxtrot said, Tribal Crash with Tattoos? Aku Aku looked like $hit. What aint broken, dont fix it. If they stuck with the gameplay mechanics and the looks of Crash from Crash Bandicoot 3, it would have been so much better than the crap we got last gen.

Agreed I hope they allow Sony to buy Crash back. When was the last time activision did anything with crash? They have not even included him in Skylanders have they? But they included Spyro.

I don't know if I even agree with that.

I can see Naughty Dog having a part of their team make it and Activision publish it on PS4, but its just seems like something that either side may not fully want.

Business wise I just don't think that series is relevant enough anymore to warrant the partnership let alone Sony buying back the IP, I just don't feel that IP pushes that type of weight to even be worth the money any longer.

Many might LOVE that series, but I'm saying this purely from a sales perspective. We can't just keep looking at it as this " I love __ series thus should be made".

Those games are moving units for Sony though, look that the bundle figures.

Its a clear win win for Sony and Acitivsion. If it was a waste, clearly Sony and Activision wouldn't continue doing it then.

@Intentions- sorta irrelevant as you don't need to buy it personally to be seen as great investment for Sony and Activsion. Clearly enough think otherwise for such a deal to continue. Both ends got something in it clearly.

And COD players on X1 don't even notice the DLC is out yet. One of my friends on PS4 who bought the DLC said the maps aren't even on rotation much, glitchy, or just not that great. But he said they look good tho. So I'll see in 2-3 weeks for myself.

I'm not sure what COD your buddy is playing but I have it on the PS4 and the maps are great and I have had no issues, as for rotation they never go into rotation when they first release and I will say this I had a XB1 sold it to buy the PS4 and Black ops III is much better on the PS4: smoother frame rate, better colors and resolution and less issues with migrating hosts by far.

I doubt PSN network is better than Xbox Live. The reputation speaks for itself unless you're on N4G. Any issues are on Treyarch's end. Plus games on Xbox One are proven to have less input lag than PS4. Go to displaylag.com to verify yourself. Thunder with over 600,000 subscribers on youtube even says than the new maps suck and have exploits where people are in the walls killing enemies. It nailed them a win during December's and November's NPD with the COD/Battlefront bundle. Not to mention Destiny sold a ton of PS4s last year.

I believe what you should be asking is not how many copies COD\Destiny/Battlefront sold but how many consoles did they sell?

Also NPD doesn't track bundles as software sales.

Dude don't get amped up I was just sharing my personal experience if you like or think the XB1 is better enjoy it then, I prefer the PS4 that's my choice you make your own. :)
