MMGN: Just Cause 3 is just days away, with a global launch on December 1 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It's the first game in the series on current-gen consoles, and a lot has changed in the world of video games since Just Cause 2 launched in 2010.
Recently we spoke with Roland Lesterlin from Avalanche Studios, the Game Director on Just Cause 3, about what's new, improved and more explosive the third time around.
Some games make up for a lackluster story with excellent gameplay. These are some games with average storylines but great gameplay.
Who decides if a games story is average idefinitely ain't listening to no reviewers. I don't agree with most of then anyway. I think alot of them are to harsh on games so they can get clicks
The pinnacle of bad story but great gameplay is Destiny and Destiny 2. What is the Traveler? What is the Darkness? What the heck is happening? No one knew. But shooting the aliens and robots felt so good.
This week in gaming deals we have Mass Effect Legendary Edition the cheapest it's been so far, along with great deals on other games
Overpowered guns can often ruin the balance of a game but they can also be a ton of fun. Unless you're on the receiving end, of course.
So excited for this game!
I never played Just Cause 2 so i will be getting this on Xbox One so i can play through the 2nd first.
If you already have good gameplay, what keeps you from making a good story too? Unless you don't have capable writers to do so, there's no other excuse.
It's the lack of a decent story that kept me from getting into the previous games and keeps me from being excited for this one. I'm not asking for something as deep as moving as The Last of Us but if they only pumped up the tongue in cheek spy movie vibe and stuck in some funny jokes or something it would do so much to get me interested.
Maybe it's not story specifically but identity. I just don't feel Just Cause has enough of an identity to hook me in and make me forget I'm sitting holding a controller. Sure the explosions are nice but it just all feels wrapped in such a generic action movie package. It should be called Spy Related Explosion Simulator 2016. Now, a Venture Brothers game in which you play as Brock Samson doing all this kind of stuff, that would be the best action game ever. As it is I know I'd just start to feel like I was playing a tech demo again after a short time.
