So, some of you have wondered why I didn't post the usual November Contest at the beginning of the month. Well, that's because I decided to split the contest up into two different lottery contests for the Holidays.

Post a reply to this blog (or originating news story I created) telling everyone what you're thankful for this year. It can be about games, family, cats, dogs, ponies, or anything else that you are really thankful for. Only one comment will count towards an entry, but feel free to share your thoughts with others.

We don't celebrate thanksgiving in our country but i have so many people that i'm thankful for that one comment post would probably won't be enough. From my family to my friends to my annoying teachers i'm thankful to everyone who's been there for me when i was going through my toughest times.

I still remember when i was a kid my uncle bought his first PC. It had 256mb ram. Not that i cared about the memory i played my first game on it. Hulk The Movie(game). I loved it. And if it weren't for that game i wouldn't have been here in the first place and met this amazing gaming community. I have some people I can relate to but it dosen't help much.

I've come to sad conclusion that what I have will never go a way. It's been 8 years...I'm tired, mental and emotional drained.

I'll keep going along as long as I can but like I said despite being really sad waiting for games coming soon like Uncharted 4 or even ones probably never coming for a long, long time like Half Life 3 is pretty much what is keeping me going at this point.

It's usually why I don't like seeing the games I like ruined...sure I can vent and I use it as a distraction but only so much you can do that.

I'm thankful that my wife hasn't complained about my fallout 4 and tomb raider binge the last couple weeks. I'm especially thankful considering we have a 2 yr old and a one month old in the house. This makes me even more thankful that game consoles now essentially pause any game when you shut them off. I am thankful to be alive. Twenty-three years ago, Christmas of 1992, when I was just under 2 months old, my family and I were making our way to Ohio to visit family for the Holiday season. This is the story of my first Christmas that almost never happened:
On our way to Ohio, we found ourselves caught in a white-out blizzard on an icy highway, and our car ended up breaking down on the side of the road. My dad ended up having to shelter me, my mom, and my brother in the car as he walked out into the cold looking for help. Eventually my dad arrived back with a car that had picked him up, and we shuttled over to the nearest hotel as my he called for a tow-truck. Immediately after dropping us off, my dad was able to hop into the tow-truck that met us at the hotel and they made their way back to our abandoned car. When my dad and the tow-truck finally arrived, our car was no more. Wrapped around a tree and in pieces, our car had been hit by an out-of-control tractor-trailer. This was not even an hour since we had abandoned the car. Had my dad not been picked up by that passerby car, me, my mom, and my brother would have been in that car when it got hit. His wife and two sons--his entire life--would have been gone. And I would not be here today.
And so I am thankful to be alive. I am thankful for the bravery of my dad who ventured out to find help. I am thankful for the kindness of strangers to help out someone in need--you never know when you might save a life.
I am thankful to have my family. I am thankful to have my friends. And of course, I am thankful to have my loving girlfriend who brings so much light into my life. I love you all.

I'm thankful to still be alive after almost 2 years with Stage 4 Rectal Cancer that spread to the liver. It's also non curable. They did say 2 years to live but I've been doing so well with chemo they don't know what my life expectancy is. Never had any symptoms to my liver yet which is the main issue. Feb 4th 2016 is when it will be 2 years from when I was told I had cancer which is on my birtdate. I'm currently 33 years old. I hope I can stay alive to play Final Fanasy VX and Final Fantasy VII remake.

Without family and support helping me all the way helped me keep a positive attitude. With out it I think I would no longer be her now. One of the biggest aspects is a good attitude in life. Having a bad additude is what cancer would like to eat up.

Spirituality has nothing to do with religion, but the way of being. How many people nowadays are so identified with their mind that they have no presence in what they do on a daily basis. They live in memories. Past and Future doesn't exist except in the mind. The only thing you have is the now, the present. Life is eternal, there is only birth and death. The ability to be connected to my father, brother, best friend, and friends from college by daily conversation only available through the usage of my PS4 chat. Never before have I been in a "phone call" that isn't awkward because you get to game along side. I truly feel blessed to experience having them "on the couch" but so far away. I do not have that many people in my life so I lean on the people online for help. It has been the help of this site that has gotten me through it. I do not make a lot of money so I buy games a few years after release but it is this site and the great comments in the comments section that basically tell me all that I need to know.

I'm thankful for the many good times I had gaming (my favorite hobby) this year playing coop with my partner and nieces and nephews. I'm thankful for my health. Well i'm not fully healed. For the last 12 months my world has been turned upside down. I've been affected by tsa which is essentially an allergic reaction to topical steroids provided by my doctor. I lost my job as i became disable. I've drained accounts to help with my treatment. The severity of this condition has to be at least on the level of one going through chemo or greater. For months it was the most Anguish pain. THe complete core of my being was ratttled. Today I am better, arguably 40% heal. This took 12 months from last November to achieve. All because I abstained from taking anymore of the heavily addictive poisons they were giving me. So I'm thankful that I was able to stick it out, because to many others that are suffering this as well may know...there plenty of times were you just want to tap out. It's excruciating. I have been a long time gamer but during this process for obvious reasons I haven't been able to engage my favorite passtime. From countless late night ER visits, losing my job, bound to my mothers house,losing out on 4 job opportunities because I wasn't well enough to take them; I have been through the roughest.

I'm doubly thankful for the friends and family that have supported me in my endeavors and the few of them who always told from the start that gaming wasn't just a "waste of time" when I could be out making friends and playing in the nonexistence sunshine of my home state. I'm just as thankful that I have such an awesome brother-in-law that's helped inspire me to get involved in game writing and point me in the right direction.

I'm just as proud to live in a state that's supplied this industry with some of the best games of all time: Nintendo, Valve, Microsoft, Bungie, 343, Sucker Punch, and so many more. Maybe I get hired by one of them someday, maybe I don't. Regardless, I'm thankful to have contributed what I can to the community at large with my two cents worth. I hope someday I can go somewhere with it to boot.
