I understand your argument but I think you're missing the point. I would say "most" people who play PS4/X1 are playing, FPS, sports, games, GTA's etc. Everyone who buys either console will mostly play those games.

However, for people like us who frequent game sites and would be deemed "core" gamers, Sony has ALWAYS offered the best and most diverse lineup of games. Best is subjective but diversity has always been 100% part of Sony's lineups.

Sure some JRPG's only sell 100k but that option, honestly, is not there with the X1. It's not the end of the world but if someone doesn't want "dudebro" games, PS4/Sony always has the best options.

No I'm not just talking about Japanese games. People didn't buy the PS4 to play games like Gravity Rush (good game though). They bought it to play games like Uncharted, Killzone, The Last of Us.

I know people are going disagree with me. But I have to say it. I don't want diversity if I'm playing games that were possible 15 years ago, on hardware 1000x more powerful. I want games that push my console. Which is why I like to see Japanese devs step out of there comfort zone, and make something that looks like its from this time. Like FF15, or Star Ocean 5.

Don't get me started on your condescension over their supposed diversity. Final Fantasy, Gravity Rush, Star Ocean, The Last Guardian, Street Fighter, Shenmue, Dragon Quest, Persona, Danganronpa, and Bloodborne are just a few Japanese games that are quite high quality and yes, ACTUALLY diverse, no matter how much you wish otherwise.

Once you start with empiricals the "Comfort Zone" no longer has anything to do with low quality graphics for an entire group of people. Much of the Western PC scene and cartoony games in general are no better. There's always been a worldwide market for retro games nostalgic to every gen. Those games usually focus on gameplay anyway.

That's the way longer version of the 30 second tv spot, but it was advertised constantly. They also had Blue Dragon fairly front and centre during conventions, but you know it's easy to dogpile on the 360 when you pick and choose your examples.

Besides Ni No Kuni, the 360 probably had my favourite JRPG last gen between LO, BD and Eternal Sonata(Yes I know it came to PS3 eventually). Hell, I own a copy of Tales of Vesperia.

You can't honestly tell me that they didn't screw over us Star Wars fans by lack of content by releasing as few maps as they have and having the audacity to charge $60 for it. That's some Evolve/Destiny scandalous garbage.

If you look back at the other Battlefront games, they had way more maps with the launch of the game, and didn't use Season Passes to screw us over. That is how. If they had Cloud City, Yavin 4, Dagobah, Death Star, Tantive IV + the maps included I wouldn't have felt as cheated.

That's not to say everything about the new Battlefront is bad, it's the lack of content leaves an awful taste in my mouth considering I've been waiting for another Battlefront game since II, and have been in calls with my friends theorycrafting what EA could do with the game and Frostbite, and some of the things they did were things I predicted or thought they should do. They nailed the music, and the graphics, and the music and it really does feel like you're immersed in the universe.

I just feel like they tried to play off of our emotions by giving us this metaphorical appetizer and dangling the main course (season pass) in front of our faces. Maybe in the foreseeable future EA will finally listen to their customers with their best intentions, rather than seeing how fast they can royally rape us for a quick buck.

Terrible Excuse is terrible. There is no way to justify what EA has done here. It's called the EA of the past didn't treat us like shit where as the "New EA" does. EA used to be a company that I looked forward to their upcoming portfolio of games every E3.

They had Dead Space 1, Mirror's Edge, Need for Speed Underground 1, Underground 2, 007 Agent Under Fire, 007 Nightfire, 007 Everything or Nothing, Need for Speed Most Wanted, Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Crysis, Rock Band, Bulletstorm, Battlefront 1, Battlefront 2, and much more.

Now they are just all about GFX, GFX, GFX, Season Pass, Season Pass, Season Pass. I don't care how long it takes them to build a level, it's not on DICE it's on EA. EA could have delayed the game to have the maps finished, but they knowingly had the game sent out despite the lack of maps, and multiplayer mode. I'm not saying that Dice did a shit job, I'm saying that they did a good job with what they had, but to someone who is a big Star Wars fan, and was really looking forward to this game, I feel like someone took a crap on one of my favorite series and can only help but feel disappointed and then some.

Also for your excuse for it takes longer to build those assets, Battlefield 4 has bigger maps, and had more maps on the vanilla game than this version of SW Battlefront. If it took so long to make that few of maps they could of delayed the game, but no they wanted to use the hype of theatrical release of Episode VII to sell the game.

That combined with EA access....X1 gamers were able to try the game and read the reviews before buying the game (which using EA access would mean they'd get a 10% discount on the digital version). Ratchet, you're not serious, right? Arkham knight, with all its bugs and lack of sli/xfire support, still runs and looks much better on pc than on ps4. People were pissed the game runs like shit when you unlock the 30 fps cap, which also exists on consoles, or when you turn on any of the nvidia proprietary features.

MKX would've been a better argument, but that's running well since the last time i played it.

Don't get me wrong it is no surprise to me. However just because Sony had the advertisement does not mean it would of Sold more on PS4. It most likely sold more due to being a lot more PS4 owners than XB1 owners.

Look at FIFA 16 I think that sold like 4mill on PS4 and 1 and half on XB1 spite Microsoft having the advertisement.

I'd say the fact that it sold 39% on Xbox one is arguably more impressive than the 59% on PS4. Despite the smaller install base on Xbox one that's a much better attach rate. I haven't looked online for actual sales numbers as the article says they haven't been released. It would be interesting to see how many people took advantage of the EA Access discount and went digital on Xbox but I'd guess PS4 would still hold the majority of sales here as well.

Looks like it's done well despite seeing a lot of complaints about the amount of content. I enjoyed what I played in the 10 hour trial but I did find there to be a lack of maps. At the same time it has been aimed at the more casual market so it's unlikely these people would be playing long enough sessions to experience too much repetition.

Otherwise it's solid enough and dogfighting in X-wings and tie fighters is a much more enjoyable experience than the dogfighting in Battlefield cos I'm a terrible pilot!

I have a pal who bought the XBox One version... I honestly couldn't tell the difference from the PC version when I first saw it. I even asked him "why do you play with a controller on PC?", until he pointed out that his PC was in a different room.

I suck with a mouse, since I started playing console shooters. I'll probably buy it on X1 as well, since my TV is nowhere near big enough for me to tell the difference between 900p and 1080p with that game.

39% for xb1 is great considered the PS4 59% consisted of more consoles and bundles in the UK chart are counted.

Having said that, it is still only the fourth best selling game this year on its release week in the UK.

The PS4 has almost 50% more PS4 sold worldwide then the XB1, plus they had a SW Battlefront bundle and the advertising rights for SW: Battlefront. Not hard to see why they would sell that many more units. Not really rocket science here.

no need to be upset. also this is UK only. advertising doesnt seem to make a difference. look at fallout 4, it sold more on PS4 even with exclusive xbox one marketing. not only that but look at witcher 3, which sold alot more on PS4 even with xbox one marketing and no association to ps platofrms at all previously and im talking about UK sales only. add in the rest of the world and things get even better for software sales on PS4. so basically to sum up, PS4 is dominating the games industry pretty heavily right now which ever way you slice it. ( xbox fans, you can still enjoy your xbox one you know? no need to come up with petty excuses as to why xbox one is so far behind.. PS4 is the clear winner.)

I own only an Xbox One... The 2nd most current console I own (no lie) is a Nintendo 64. From 1996... I'm not bashing on any console. I love my Xbox One very much, but I'm not daft or blind to know the PS4 is kicking it's ass in terms of sales... It's not hard to miss everyone gloating about it around every corner. I'm not a fanboy by any means, if there was one exclusive for the PS4 that warranted a purchase to me (key words: "to" "me") then I would get one. But right now, I don't feel like spending $350 on another gaming machine for multiplat games I can get that are just as good on Xbox One.

They make it seem like a much bigger gap than it is. 60/40 split between the 2 consoles and considering xbox tend to have higher digital sells it's probably closer to 55/45-50/50.

PC 2% lol must of had 20k physical copies at most. PC is pretty much the home of Digital. There's 0 advantages buying physical on pc unlike on consoles. No game trading, long install times, no better deals.

The article is about physical sales. 59% went to PS4, 39% on X1. 2% were physical sales on PC. By most estimates, PS4 holds 60% of the market share in UK with XB1 holding 40%. Those numbers seem about par for the course, then.

I didn't think physical copies existed anymore. It's like, when was the last time you went to a store to buy a music disk? The only reason I can see to buy a physical disk is to trade it in when your done (not much back for it) or let someone borrow it. With game share now who needs to borrow.

I might be in the minority here, but after playing the beta on the X1 and PS4, I knew I would not be buying the game, especially not for $59.99 plus $50 DLC, so I Gamefly'd the PS4 version. I have had a good time with it but just not enough to buy. Not surprise more PS4 gamers bought the game than X1, as there are nearly double PS4s on the market than X1s, I did think more PC gamers would have bought the the game, but maybe they think similar to my justification of not buying the game.

Well, the ps4 does have about twice the install base, not to mention pc gamers mostly download titles, and don't buy physical copies. At least all the gamers I know, who game on pc, just download their games from steam, and don't purchase physical copies. The marketing probably helped quite a bit too. Getting my ps4 this weekend and will probably start picking up most of the multiplat titles on it. I do prefer xbox, and I love my xbox 1, but if a game performs better on a particular platform, I'll get it on that one. Also depends on which of my friends play what , on either system.

A good version of a high profile game that targets hard core and casual players and it doesn't have much competition on that paltform? I can see why it is selling well on the PS4.

Oh how the gaming world have changed. " the game isn't great at all. Even though it's on both consoles and pc, there is a commercial for the game that ties it to Sony just like MS and fall out. With that being said, of course with an article stating that the game sold 50% more on ps4 than x1 and pc combined, now it's all about graphics and performance, regardless of how good the game is right? I feel the same way about Battlefront that I do about Uncharted multiplayer it's simplistic yet fun.
Battlefront has alot of fun modes despite not having much weapon variety.
6 maps is meh on the disc but there's only like what maybe 4 maps in the works.
So 10 maps.
I don't agree with the season pass but that's just how the industry does business nowadays.
