I hate the fact people think that just because floyd us a boxer means that he's physically incapable of a take down defense.I'm not an mma expert but if I'm a trained fighter in any art or even a person that's been in a fight before can block a take down. Mix that with the fact floyd is still a heavy hitter you don't want to get close to that guy with the risk of taking the hit even if you specialize in a take down. Bottom line She'd lose we don't know what else floyd "knows" other than what you think you know him for and that's boxing. Did you guys see the full fight? Ronda was getting lit up by them punches, She squared up and lost every time Holly threw them fist. And actually a boxer is trained to learm how to control the opponents head with a punch, they are master clinchers. Mayweather is stronger and faster then both these girls and if a few punches from Holly could really slow Ronda down imagine what a dude who has knock out power would do, its not even close. Ronda was even on a talk show before the fight and knew Holly was gonna space her out and make mistakes and that wasn't gonna happen to her but that's exactly what happened lol. She couldn't get close enough for a take down and the couple she did get where broken when Holly threw those headshots. Mayweather vs Ronda is a mismatch in his favor.

Why? It's part of the sport. She got knocked out. The difference is in how Holly handled the knock out. She didn't stand over Ronda or roam around the ring talking trash. She celebrated like she should have.
In the end, Ronda got what was coming to her. She was outclassed by trying to go toe to toe with a true boxer. A boxer with superior footwork and a southpaw at that. Don't take this as hate on Ronda. She will go down as probably the best female to ever do it. But, IMO, she started to grind my nerves with the incessant need to be catty and trash her opponents...especially after she submitted them. The pre-fight hype is for ticket sales. I get that. But, in the ring is a different story.

The problem was a combination of excellent striking and superior footwork by Holly. Maybe Ronda didn't practice against a southpaw when sparring? Either way, Holly used great angles to avoid disaster while peppering Ronda's face with jabs and elbows. I think Ronda was ultimately overwhelmed and confused by the footwork and where the punches were coming from. Holly frustrated her with great movement and solid take-down defense. Maybe it was Ronda's ego that kept her from thinking about what was going on and kept just coming forward and taking shots? Who knows.

She did. Almost secured the arm bar, and rocked holly on the feet. Holly was just smart. She kept her distance used her technical stand up meanwhile ronda chased and was wreckless. Ronda is a good fighter but her stand up needs a lot of clean up and she needs a corner that can teach her control. She looked gassed by the end of the 1st. We called this fight down to the head kick several weeks ago. MMA is about all sports of martial arts, the reality is, you can't become some champion boxer over night, any more then they can become some expert in judo and BJJ over night. I'm just a blue belt in BJJ and even with 1 stripe on my belt, I still struggle in my same class.

So even on the same belt level, a tier still actually exist.

If Ronda kept trading with Holms she was 100% going to lose. If we had a sport that was several and lets say Lebron James wanted to do the football segment, I don't care how long he trains in the football area in this sport, he won't be a NFL player in the same respect some NFL player wouldn't just go on to do HUGE things in the basketball portion.

As even the people that lost to Holms in boxing, are STILL boxers trying to be as good as Holms, thus...they are still trying to reach what Holms has at her level. Getting into the MLB is extremely hard, would you not be disrespected if someone thought they could merely do the same because they did well in some other sport? Yes...we have Bo Jackson's and Sanders, but what we are talking about is not merely doing it, we are talking about beating the person that is the best female boxer in the damn world at it.

She could train her WHOLE LIFE and likely wouldn't even come near Holms as again...consider many do that actually ONLY DO BOXING! We are not talking about something that is an inevitability , its something that even doing for a long time doesn't 100% guarantee success.

My life dream in sports right now is to get a black belt in BJJ and Judo, but I know how great I will become falls on me competing to see how I will do against others. Black Belts still have tournaments with just black belts as even having that rank doesn't guarantee you success. Anderson Silva has a black belt in BJJ, he didn't go to the ground with Demian Maya. Both have black belts...why?

Its because Demian is a 4th degree black belt and a multiple time world BJJ champion, he has NEVER been submitted in MMA, Silva didn't even entertain the idea of going to the ground with him.....and he has a black belt too. Many need to get, that getting better in competition isn't about timing, can I not get trained in basket ball ever day? Oh so NBA here I come? The people who ONLY do that sport have trouble getting ranked, yet Ronda thought she stood a chance against one of the greatest female boxers in the world...

It was an easy call by me that if it stood, Ronda would lose, if it went to the ground, Holms would lose. At least Holms didn't think that she could go to the ground with a Judo and BJJ black belt, its why she won, she understand where she is good at, she may NEVER be as good as Ronda on the ground as MOST people EVEN IN THAT DAMN SPORT ALONE won't get to the Olympics, let alone rank in it. It's the refs job to call the fight! Holly was just doing HER job. She simply grounded and pounded until the ref called the fight. When fights end dramatically in MMA it's usually a submission, straight KO, or ground and pound out. Now, if your argument is with the sport itself, then that's a totally other conversation.

It's part of the game in UFC fights. You won't find an UFC fighter who won't beat their opponent down on the ground. When that happens and the other fighter doesn't react, the referee stops the fight immediately and the gal / guy throwing punches win.

Holly's striking ability to Rondas striking ability is comparing apples to oranges. I have always bought UFC games but as much as I dont want to say this....if EA and UFC leave Ronda on the cover I am going to pass on the buy. Yes, it may be a dumb reason but its my reason...and my money. Ive been anti Ronda for a long time because I knew she was never worth the hype.

Actually this was predicted before the fight. Everybody knew Holly's striking ability and foot work was better than Ronda's (even Ronda).. However if and if Ronda Could keep it to the floor the story would have been different as Rhonda has better Grappler than Holmes. The whole point was to see which fighter could overcome their weaknesses. Holly was smart and stayed away from the floor once she got it in her head she would lose if she went there. Ronda got frustrated because she was struggling with the take down defense of Holly and her boxing was no match so she had no place to go.... frustration leads to mistakes.. Of course it would be stupid not to have a rematch since these two women are the talk of Women UFC right now and the money would be too good to pass up (Both women have huge egos to boot)....
