I'm guessing the clone production line has been stopped or destroyed, so their regular people have to be stormtroopers now.

It just goes to show you, people are looking for any little thing to destroy this game. People have gone psycho. If this game doesn't match up perfectly with how Star Wars is in our minds (errors included...like the helmet thing), and it doesn't contain everything that was supposed to be in the canned Battlefront 3... and if they announce a DLC pack before release... and... and...

This is the sort of thing this game is facing. It's insane.

People are doing the same thing with Fallout 4. It's basically the same quality as Fallout 3 was at launched, but people are going crazy on it.

People need to calm down and enjoy things. There is no perfection, it's not coming. Enjoy the games for what they are, as they are still quite good.

2nd prequel movie had some which didn't wear their helmets at times.

There's nothing in the cannon that says they have to wear helmets as far as I'm aware. Thought it was just a way to reuse the same extras over and over again.

Not real storm troopers my man. You never saw a face of a single one in any of the movies, barring the clones in the prequel trilogy. I'm pissed about it because that would never happen. The empire is strict in discipline and big on authoritarianism. They should have allowed us to customize our troopers, yes, but once they take off their helmets, it just ruins it.

I just don't see it happening. My biggest reason for being against it, and hear me out here, is the intimidation factor of the imperial army. Nameless, faceless evil blitzing across hoth terrified the rebels in Episode 5. But faces, they carry and convey emotion. Even if the imperial army were not all clones at the time, I still don't see the helmets coming off. #1 reason is obvious and has to do with protection. #2; it's easier to commit evil acts when hiding behind a mask. Here's a few questions for you:

Would Michael Meyers be as scary if he didn't wear a mask? Same goes for Jason or any other masked murderer ever portrayed on screen.

Also, what's more believable, an unmasked storm trooper carrying out atrocities or a faceless uncaring entity culling their enemies with no mercy?

Now granted, in the real world, all sorts of people commit evil acts. Normal human beings carried out the holocaust without question. But also, and I don't recommend it, but if you ever come across a legit beheading video, as disturbing as one is, 75% of the time, the perpetrator wears a mask.

To me, that mask makes the storm trooper. I like to immerse myself into my games when I play. That storm trooper sprinting across the frozen wastes of Hoth sans helmet just instantly breaks that immersion. I want star wars battlefront, not battlefield: battlefront.

I never said they were scary to the audience members, but to the rebels, you really think they'd lock them up in a cozy cell and provide 3 meals a day for an indefinite amount of time? F**k no man. They'd kill and torture them with the full faith and credit of the imperial army behind them. They're an evil force, not just a nation with a difference of opinion. They are not held accountable for war crimes. Theyve always been portrayed as nameless, faceless killers, correct me if I'm wrong???

They got higher status now, sure. But they have rarely been very terrifying in any of the non animated movies...

I think the anger is coming from the hardcore Star Wars fan base. To be honest... I get why they would be some what miffed. The only "Storm Troopers" to ever take off their helmets were Luke and Han Solo posing as Storm Troopers. The fact of the matter is cannon (the films) has never shown ONE Storm Trooper with their helmets off. It is part of their mystique. They are a faceless army and that in and of itself gives them character that has a deadly and ominous feel. I would have rather they left helmets on and just did different markings on the helmets.

Also, to the contrary I believe we've seen Clone Troopers fight past loosing their helmets several times, in the Clone Wars/Rebels cartoons

Hold the phone, massive problems here. In the new canon of Star Wars, clones were phased out and replaced by humans trained in academies long before the original trilogy began. Arguably it started immediately after the Empire began with the clones rapid aging and massive costs being huge liabilities. See season two of Star Wars Rebels, or canon books like Lords of the Sith for confirmation. DICE adding non-helmeted imperials may not be in line with the old movies nor make any tactical sense, but it's not incorrect to show regular humans.

Well said... this is the new Empire, and they will also have a new name in EP7 (no longer Galactic Empire) as well.

The old Empire had been dealt a crushing blow, especially after the battle of Jakku. They had to reorganize with other power hungry people rising through the ranks.

They no longer use clones. I have been a fan for over 35 years... and this helmet removal does not bother me one bit. Gave me nostalgic feels from Han and Luke scenes. In fact, seeing Finn remove his helmet in one of the trailers actually gave me chills, this is a new era!

You must have not played the beta then or have played any Dice game in the last three years. How is that launch going to go again? They are still patching out Battlefield 4 for crying out loud. On top of everything else, Dice cannot produce anything over 720p for Xbox One. Will Star Wars Battlefront run on my Xbox 360 then? Say the game was released on Xbox 360, it would be the same resolution as the Xbox One version.

I do not blame Microsoft for this. Other developers are getting above 720p resolution on X1 why can't Dice? Frostbite engine has been garbage for that console.

It's not the engine or optimization. It's as simple as the game requiring powerful hardware to run... The engine is great. Looks very very good on PC. And it does on console as well. Don't blame Dice.

People are raving about how good it is. Graphically even with 720p, performance, much smoother and rock solid since beta, etc, with the EA Early Access, sooo....

Learn about the engine's graphical technology before you spew 360 diatribe. This engine incorporates pretty much every next gen rendering technique in one. Very few engines can claim that statement. And it still performs at 60fps.

The resolution is more the power of the console while keeping high fidelity rendering techniques at a 60fps.

Yet you dismiss all the rendering techniques, bells and whistles. There is more to graphics than just resolution. This game would not run on a 360 at 720p with the graphical techniques it uses, hell, it probably would not run at any resolution on it.

Not Dice's fault the Xbox is not powerful enough to handle above that resolution with the same fidelity and framerate.

Runs 900p on the PS4, and 1440p+ on the PC so...

The game was made in just over twos yeas and the star wars story has been done to death in games anyway . multi player is way more fun.Battlefield 4 was broken at launch but that was a long time ago the are still patching as in better net code ,balancing and adding new FREE maps(still a few more to come)amazing they are still supporting this game so long after launch.720 on battlefield 4 and battlefront on X box? That due to the weak hardware there nothing wrong with the engine looks great on pc. Ps4 also struggles at 900 too but again there's nothing wrong with the engine it's just a demanding engine with all the graphic effects that come with it.

Since resolution doesn't matter, I'll take my game at 1440p, 1080p, 900p, and you take yours at 720p, since it doesn't matter to you. Its even more funny when both of these cosoles were launching, resolution was everthing. But now they just settle for 720p.

When your playing on a 55" LED, resolution matters.
