Star Wars Battlefront To Have A Lot More Guns In Final Release, But No VOIP

Star Wars Battlefront will have many more guns in the final version, DICE confirmed. However, don't expect to find integrated VOIP.

Would anyone buy this game if it didn't have a star wars skin along with EA and Dice behind it? Imagine the same game but with a different skin so it looks like a star wars clone. It has no story, no classes, no repairs, no real bases with vehicles lying around, terrible spawn points, uses "pick ups" scattered throughout the map, 8 maps and 4 planets, no space battles, AT-ATs on rails, and it costs $60. A season pass has also been announced which will cost $50. Just those two things alone bring this hollow game to $110. Would you buy it? I wouldn't. Other options are available.

I thought the beta was fun as ****, even though it was only 1 map and game type, I couldn't stop playing. Can't wait to join my friends and do some epic battles.

No story? I never play story mode in Battlefield games either. I only get them for online multiplayer.

No classes? You can make your character whatever you want with your gear. To me, classes limit what a character can be or do. In this, if i want to be a heavy machine gun weilding, medic with a jump pack then i can. Nithing to complain about there.

No repairs is a valid complaint to have i suppose.

No real bases? The rebels had a base in Walker Assault. The empire doesnt because they are invading and being dropoed down to the planet from Star Destroyers.

Terribke Spawn Points? I'll give you that also. Walker Assault had some bad ones.

Pick ups? Its just a different way to do vehicles. It would literally be no different if you replaced an actual vehicle where the pickups are. I dont see that as a bad idea. In fact its kinda cool to be able to pick a vehicle emblem then use it wheb you want.

8 maps? How many does Battlefield or CoD ship with? Not entirely too many more. Granted its on the low end but it isn't TOO low. Plus DLC will add more.

No space battles? True but there is Fighter Squadron mode which is exactly the same thing only its on a planet and not in space. But at the end of the day its still a game mode that is only played with air vehicles.

AT AT's on rails? I can see this argument too. However i'm not sure how fun it would be to control an AT AT. They are extremely slow and easy targets. I dont like that you can only spawn into the guns for 100 seconds though. I'll give you this one too.

Overall, you seem to be comparing this to Battlefield. Is that what you wanted? A battlefield clone? Because literally everything you mentioned being different or poor are compared to features that do exist in Battlefield. Its okay if thats what you want. I wouldnt mind that either truthfully. But to be honest I loved this beta and can't wait for the full game.

Okay? Just because you're okay with paying $60 for multiplayer only doesn't mean it's the standard.. Battlefront 1 and 2 both had complete story's and the fact that this new one lacks it is a complete slap in the face to fans.

....This isn't COD and BF, not to mention COD and BF have single player story's as well. Battlefront 2 had over 20 maps so yes, 8 maps is INSULTING for a Multiplayer only Battlefront 3. Buy the DLC?? pffffft get outta here!

First of all I never said shipping with no story is the standard and i also never said the standard is that most people dont play them. I simply said that I dont play them. My entire comment is my own opinion. I'm not pretending to speak for anyone else, unlike some others.

Second, you mention Battlefield 2 shipping with 20 maps. What about Battlefield 4 shipping with 10? And Battlefront shipping with 12?

I realize that he didn't mention Battlefield. However, most of his comparisons are actually features from Battlefield. You say they are also features from previous Battlefront games and you are mostly correct. But not all of them. I dont seem to remember vehicles being scattere around the map that you could just climb into. I could be wrong though because its been a long time.

Either way, you scoffed at the mention of DLC even though its the industry norm now and has been for years. You can't bury one game for it when nearly every big name title has DLC now.

I recently asked a friend if he used Discord and he replied, "Mumbles transmission speed is easily 500% faster. When you first start using mumble it's weird because you're not used to people comprehending your sentence until you're done speaking, on mumble people will hear your words almost as your speaking them allowing them to process it in realtime."

Unfortunately, I still use Skype cause most of my friends are on it. I use it like Aol Instant Messenger, not so much for voice.

I laugh at people saying the game is a casual shooter. I see lot of players have a negative kill/death ratio on PC and xbox one after each match.

Game is awesome, yet it pity we only got 1 map for each mode curious to why that was? I be getting it on xbox one don't like the controller features on PC and don't like playing shooters with a mouse and keyboard.

The PC graphics are not that great compared to console. I expected better.

The people calling casual are the same people crying about the challenge presented in walker assault. They want a nerf because it's so casual. Can't even adjust to a challenge. Which isn't even hard with a decent team. Which won't even be so challenging when more ion weapons are available. It's not casual, or imbalanced.

Some people are just salty over their k/d ratios going down when it's their turn to be the rebels. Plus they are not guaranteed orbital strikes with an unlock, they have to get lucky on a pick up. No guaranteed easy kills or walker drops. Some how they have decided these things are casual because they don't guarantee the use of the most powerful things in the game.

What kind of PC graphics have you seen? Because mine looks noticeably better at Ultra settings and 1440P downsamoled.

Not to mention that there are already some great SweetFX profiles out there.

The game looks great on PS4, and runs pretty good.

The game on PC at 1080/120 is extremely fluid, and the game at 4k/60 looks ungodly.

This beta isn't like the CoD beta which allowed you to get to level 47 or something like that. The Battlefront beta allowed you to go to level 5, and I'm already half a million XP points past that just on the PS4 version, let alone the XP I have in the PC version.

More weapons and star cards will allow for a much wider range of gameplay. Can't wait to try out the customization and plays as guys like Greedo or Bossk. I wonder how many characters you can play, it would be amazing if they basically had say anything they made an action figure of. That's probably expecting far too much, but even if they had only 50 or 100 different characters, that would be amazing.

I tried using the 360 controller and did terrible. The only game that I found the controller was somewhat comparable was TitanFall. I like the mouse control but movement using the keyboard feels to awkward to me (mainly a console gamer)

I think its hilarious how EA was like "no microtransactions". Any time EA says something like this, expect a $50 season pass.

By the way Battlefront really needs team communication. This is a game where you're mercilessly pwned if you don't have coordination. I'm not surprised EA won't be putting it in, either. Sure there's teamspeak but that means you'll need non-rando players every time.

Team communication with microphones are overrated. No one listens, not even to the in game voice telling you what do do...
And as a non native English speaker I prefer to issue commands in game using my controller - wonder if Battlefront will have it like Battlefield...

There are plenty of different guns in the Star Wars universe, whether DICE let us choose from all of them is another matter though. They may want to keep it as true to the characters as possible.

I got totally burned out playing bf4 and was ready to dislike this game. I played it because it was a free beta and found myself enjoying it. Not sure if I will drop the money for it when it comes out but if the price drops I will consider it. I tried it on both ps4 and my gaming rig (maxed) and the ps4 version definitely held its own in graphics. I am not too good at k/m so if I do pick it up it will be on the ps4.
