The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Heading to Wii U?

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess could soon be heading to the Wii U, if a newly discovered eShop listing is anything to go by.

Probably for Triforce Heroes. 4 Swords Adventures would've been cooler and more fitting but we can't do GCN VC can we Nintendo?

DragoonsScaleLegends3117d ago

They are releasing Wii games on the eShop so this will probably be one of them. But the Wii games they add suck because they don't bother to up their resolution to HD but instead runs them at 480p. But I guess that's to be expected when they aren't even emulating them but running them like a native game.

AizenSosuke3116d ago

Nintendo your are remastering personally one of my favourite Zelda games of all time so to improvement it

Better overworld is One
Two Streamline the 4 hour opening part
Three include some new dungeons+ Post story content

That's it I suppose.

ShinMaster3116d ago

Don't get your hopes up. Just in case it's just a re-release of the Wii like they have been doing on the eShop.
And if it is remastered, then you'll be more pleasantly surprised.

bouzebbal3116d ago

they can make a great remaster out of this one. This Zelda is decent, much better than the boring WW.

_-EDMIX-_3116d ago

Agreed. That might be the last good console Zelda for me.

Zelda Wii U I have hopes for though.

pivotplease3116d ago (Edited 3116d ago )

Some more side content and making more use of certain items (the spinner) would be nice. That and give the horse whistle earlier because fast travel makes Epona obsolete by the time you get it. Also...less annoying secret areas that are only home to pointless rupee chests. Increase the difficulty as well since most enemies take a quarter of a heart and potions aren't necessary at all in the game.

Edit: Oh and get rid of the terrible bug hunting parts. Or at least make them optional. Or fun.

Only interested if it's an HD update to the level of Wind Waker HD.

Summons753117d ago

That'd be fine as long as it was a remaster of the Gamecube version...not the dreadful Wii version.

higgins783117d ago

Remind me, what made it so "dreadful"...

DragoonsScaleLegends3117d ago (Edited 3117d ago )

Motion controls suck unless you're a Wii fanboy, of course you will deny this reality. Though the GameCube version looks worse at least you don't have to swing your controller like a idiot.

Why the Wii version sucks:

http://www.zeldainformer.co...

Nevers0ft3117d ago

Although I don't agree with drpepperdude's "Motion controls suck unless you're a Wii fanboy" the controls in the Wii version of Twilight Princess were pretty crappy. The original version of the Wii remote simply didn't have the accuracy required for 1:1 controls so Nintendo opted for a rudimentary gesture system instead - it worked, but buttons would've been sooooo much easier.

bass4g3116d ago

@drpepperdude Sure the waggle sword controls weren't much good but then the IR pointer was a much better means of control than the original. Even in the article you posted the only bad thing they could find about the IR pointer was the fact that it's reticule is a fairy. A lot of the items used the pointer so I'd say that's a fair enough reason to prefer the wii version. It's not quite as simple as one version being "better" than the other, they both have strengths and weaknesses.

Bahamut3116d ago

@drpepperdude

I agree the motion controls in that game weren't very good, but Skyward Sword was fantastic! I couldn't believe how accurate the motion was, I had so much fun with that game. But really, that was one of the only games I played on Wii that fully utilized the controls without feeling like a tacked-on gimmick. Metroid Prime trilogy was pretty good too.

DragoonsScaleLegends3116d ago

Well I guess you don't have to be a Wii fanboy to like motion controls but 90% of motion games would be better with a traditional controller.

_-EDMIX-_3116d ago

The controls where horrid. I played both versions, the Gamecube versions by far is better. That is personally the version I'm also hoping they port and have controller support for. Though I don't have a Wii U and don't plan on getting one any time soon right now, I don't wish for those that have it to have a bad experience like I did with it.

motion controls and that everything is backwards! xD I hated that with a passion, I had the GC version and loved it, then the disc stopped workiong, so I had to buy the Wii version, and didn't like it at all :/

DualWielding3117d ago

it has more chances to come to Wii U than the new Zelda game that was supposed to be Zelda U

Spikeantestor3117d ago (Edited 3117d ago )

Sadly this is probably true. I could see Nintendo trying to pad out what's left of the Wii U's life with something like a remake of this game. A project they can pass off as a big deal, all the while not putting in nearly the effort they would need to for a whole new game.

AKR3117d ago (Edited 3117d ago )

And your reasoning for this is supported by WHAT proof exactly? Other than the nonsensical speculation about the NX — a system we know NOTHING about.

tinparron3117d ago

I would be perfectly happy waiting for Zelda U if we were to get a straight port of the Gamecube TP.

Icing on the cake would be:
- it got an HD facelift
- the overworld was remastered to be one continuous world (seamless travel between provinces with no white screen loading)

Simple :)

Bahamut3116d ago

I'd pay 20 bucks for that. Right now.

Twilight Princess’ Hyrule Field Is Boring, Empty, And Excellent

TheGamer Writes "In my experience, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess’ once-warm reception has chilled somewhat over the years. Praised at launch as a beautiful return to form after the “childish” art style of its direct predecessor, the world eagerly embraced a game that more closely followed Ocarina of Time’s famous structure and plot cues. Perhaps most alluringly of all, the grandeur and sheer scope of this reimagined Hyrule Field wowed millions of us."

I am a huge Zelda fan and love them all, but for me Ocarina Of Time is the greatest and my second all time favourite game after Final Fantasy VII.

LoveSpuds613d ago (Edited 613d ago )

You sir, have good taste in games :)

I also love all of the Zelda games but I adore Windwaker (Specifically the HD version on WiiU) most of all. It is a close run thing with Breath of the Wild though.

Special mention to Cadence of Hyrule too, what an awesome spin off title that was!

GaboonViper612d ago

Cheers Spuds, yep i love Windwaker too, beautiful artstyle, and i loved sailing and finding all the secrets out there.

blackbeld612d ago

Agreed. For me top 3 of all time is.

1. ocarina of time
2. Final fantasy Vll
3. MGS1

GaboonViper612d ago

Brilliant top 3, would love a MGS1 remake that has been rumoured.

LoveSpuds612d ago

Yup, hard to argue with that top 3 squire, some quality games right there!

-Foxtrot614d ago

Oh gee can't imagine what Number 1 is

....

A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker etc is better than Breath of the Wild.

lockedongamer1614d ago

I respectfully disagree, but they're all great games.

porkChop614d ago

I think it really depends on what you're looking for. If you want a traditional Zelda game then OoT or WW would be better to you. But if you want a Zelda game that really leans into adventure and exploration, and if you want intelligent systems/logic, BotW would be the better game.

I enjoy both. I understand why some people aren't fond of it but for me it was a breath of fresh air that I really needed. I'd become so burnt out on unimaginative games and BotW sort of made me appreciate games again, as weird as that may sound.

godofboobees613d ago

Those are not traditional Zelda games

Crows90613d ago

Right...so let's pretend ocarina of time didnt have exploration, secret dungeons and other secrets. Complex boss mechanics and exploration rewards. At least a traditional Zelda has dungeons.

porkChop612d ago

What point are you attempting to make? At no point did I say that OoT didn't have any of that. However, the level of exploration and sense of adventure are vastly different between OoT and BotW.

Brazz613d ago

Breath of the Wild is overrated as shot, Wind waker is much better.

P_Bomb613d ago

I’m a Link to the Past guy.

MadLad613d ago

Majora's Mask still holds as my favorite to this day, despite being the black sheep of the series.

pietro1212613d ago

I love them all, but Wind Walker, Link to the Past and Minish Cap are my favorites

John_McClane612d ago

Link to the Past was so, so good! Those chickens though! 🤣

Why The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Makes More Sense for the Switch Than the Oracle Duology

Recent rumors suggest The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages games are coming to Switch, but that doesn't really add up.

I remember enjoying Twilight Princess overall, though the dark/light world mechanic felt too similar to Metroid Prime 2.

I never played Skyward Sword though. Did that retain the cool as fuck sheathing animation link does in Twilight Princess?

scoltar1003d ago

The whole time I played the remake of "Link's Awakening" on my Switch, I kept hoping they would do the oracle games in a similar style.

enkiduxiv1003d ago

I wonder when the "why any other Zelda but Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword would make more sense" article will pop up.

BrainSyphoned1003d ago

Gotta release um all Zeldamon'

Really funny seeing this and "What’s with the lack of game content, Nintendo?" right next to each other.

KingofBandits1002d ago

OK......no and hard pass but ok. Look Zelda TP is a very good entry but imo its had its time and 3 versions on (Gamecube, Wii, Wii U) I say let it rest. Especially since it will inevitably be just a slightly touched up port of the HD Wii U game. Id actually prefer a Wind Wake HD port over TP. That said Oracle of Seasons/Ages done in the new Link's Adventure style is vastly more appealing to me, and I hope that's what they do.
