DICE On Battlefront: No More Partner Spawn In Combat, No New Content Coming In Beta

DICE representative have replied to player questions and concerns on Star Wars: Battlefront even during the weekend.

I tried the game on both my high end PC and my PS4, while it looks amazing on the PC I was quite surprised how well it stands up on the console. DICE have done a fantastic job.

PS4 on my 55" TV with consistent player hardware and no hackers, or PC with higher resolution (maybe) on a 21" screen and either cheaters or irritating anti-hacking ware. I'll run with the console 90% of the time with online shooters these days...just so much less BS to worry about.

Not really, it doesn't look as good compared to PS4 as PS4 looks to Xone, and even tehre the differences are not big.

I have a over 1000$ PC and this game is not working well for me, and I have a AMD card which frostbite loves. I wanted to get in on PC though due to it being cheaper, but IDK now... I may wait for some time and then get it after 2 weeks used for PS4.

and this game has hiccups in FPS, maybe because it's a beta.

Hacking, while an issue on PC is also heavily exaggerated at the same time. It's not as popular as was, you might see 1 in 100+ matches and they'll either be booted or you can leave and spend 30 seconds to join another game.

If you have an equal number of gamers on each side chances are you'll see the same amount of complaining from each side. Go look a DF's video of people complaining about which console version of GTAV has the better grass, nothing but bickering.

What resolution, frequency, and quality are you testing on PC?

Try 1080p @ 60 Hz and find a quality that fits.

(Default on my PC got me screen resolution, @60, medium - feels a bit over the top)

@Lordani66, that's troubling. An R9 280X is a pretty damn solid GPU. And no way should your CPU be an issue. Though IIRC, Dice has a habit of having graphically unoptimized betas. I remember the BF3 beta being particularly ugly. I wouldn't sweat it just yet.

Not every PC gamer uses a mouse. I use scp and ds3 through bluetooth. Still don't use aim assist though it's kinda annnoying and doesn't help with precise shots IMO.

If hackers where a real problem on PC gaming, it would of died a long time ago and CS:GO wouldn't have 700k players playing simultaneously. The year is 2015 not 2000, so people who don't game on PC can only come up with the "cheater card" or bring up the TV, like... have they ever even owned a PC ? because I'm pretty sure you can connect it to the TV too and you have a lot of controllers to choose from, you don't need m/k to play.

Funny thing is, I recently built a gaming PC for a friend who had transitioned to consoles cus he didn't have the $ to build the gaming PC he wanted. He played Battlefront on PC and downloaded it on his PS4 too see if there was a difference and he was like... y did I take this long to build one lol. PC is so much better for AAA multiplats (except for a few ports that are awful, thankfully they end up being patched), of course I buy console(PS4) for its exclusives.

I'll do the same with both PS4 and XB1. Exclusives usually get more out of the consoles anyway, thus lessening the gap with PC.

With multiplatform titles, though, the difference between console and PC versions is often staggering.

THere's cheating and there's "cheating". On PCs there's way more people with custom setups, people with mice that have macros that you'll never know are cheating. People with automatic fire to get the most out of the fire-rate of every gun etc. I played PC beta for 10 hours, PS4 for 8 hours and I consistently placed higher on the PS4, and I've always been really good with a mouse and keyboard.

Also the beta lacks the ability to personalize your character, so everyone looks the same.

I'm not saying there should be rainbow storm troopers running around. Just have different armor parts (same white/black or camouflage colours) that vary in shape and design. Some parts could look brand new while others appear worn. Doesn't have to be exaggerated,but something simple that adds to the effect of battle.

The content from the beta was alright. Only if they could've done it like black ops 3. That beta had a lot to offer and they even added an extra mode before it ended. The partner spawn isn't a big deal if they would just tweak on who you're able to spawn on. It's not rocket science and they should know better than to allow people to spawn on a teammate that's in a gun battle.

That's cool, I don't know why they did it differently on consoles... On PS4 I was in a party with two of my friends and since they were each other's partner, the game placed me with a random player. I couldn't see my party members, but I was able to see and spawn on a random guy. What the heck? Make party members yellow and your partner green. Simple.

I don't know why Dice has to make it so annoying to play with friends. It's the same with BF4. BF3 was perfect: before a match you invite your friends into your party, the party leader search for a match, and the whole party is placed on the same team.

Dice's hands are tied a little bit since some of the modes could give movie spoilers that they don't want to give.

I've played quite a bit of the beta on both pc and ps4, and have a bit of a dilemma. On ps4, the resolution and controls make long distance shots and sniping awfully difficult, and resolution/gfx are a notch down from a decent pc. But on pc, people are already getting banned nearly every match for hacks/aimbots. The beta has only been out a few days, so I hate to think how many hacks/aimbots there will be at release, and evolved ones at that which will be more difficult to detect. I usually avoid fps on pc for that reason. But in this case there are kind of issues with either one.

Also, this game will be probably played for the most part in third person. I'll go with PC, best graphics and also cheaper

I must say it amazes me that people use Aim bots on PC. I mean aiming with the mouse takes pretty much no skill what so ever. No need for aim bots.

Do we really need a map bigger than hoth, you have 40 player atm, even mag didn't have all 128 player in one section of the map.

Maybe 64 but anything beyond that I think would make it too crowded.

Same feeling here. It's just too arcadic for me and not enough focused on teamplay. That's of course a matter of taste.

Grafics and sounds are enjoyable, though, and the Star Wars lore is great as allways. Will propably grab it cheap later on ... by then everything will be patched and balanced as well.

Wouldn't mind knowing why it seems the entire Rebel infantry send to be female only. I tend to have a hard time picking out male voices in the battlefield. Find it weird.

Don't get me wrong, got nothing against females in the field. I mean damn, every CO on the radio harping orders is a male. Come on DICE it's 2015.

yes and no because a lot of the time the top killers on walker assault spend most of the match in a at-st or at-at.

Not all but both rack up easy kills, although the chicken walker might take a few runs.

Game still needs alot of work. Major balancing issues, terrible spawns, op weapons/pickups/vehicles, performance issues during menu, post battle report, start of matches on PC, other performance issues and more. These are some glaring issues and I have no idea how they even made it into the beta.

It think the rebels are very dependent on using the orbital strike properly. Most people waste it.

It definitely helps, but you can bring them down without a strike if you work the objectives for a lot of walker assault time. But sometimes you get a team happy with hiding in the rocks and sniping at people and you're screwed.

I started off complaing about the game for the first day, and then i started to enjoy it , i think it was abit of noob rage.

I think when both sides follow the objectives, you have a fight on your hands, but the first day people were running around like headless chickens just soaking up the Star Was universe and thats fine.

And of course their is a few small issues, but thats what a beta is for, to stress test and iron the kinks out.

They need to add that "ejection failure" feature when in a vehicle. It doesn't reward the players for trying to destroy it when I can easily just bail out and use a jet pack at 10 percent bealth. That or vehicle gets some limb and turret damage.

I really wish all my Xbox friends had a PC instead. I downloaded the beta on my Xbox and my pc and while I was expecting the lower resolution, I wasn't expecting the netcode to be so much worse. My Xbox and my Pc are literally the same distance from my router, but for some reason I get horrid lag on Xbox, and constant freezing, and this strange glitch where the game forgets how old I am and locks me out till I close and reopen the game.
