Is Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection A Worthy Remaster?

Yup. I just completed Drakes Fortune and enjoyed it more than when I played the original on ps3. I think the improved the gunplay and obviously visually it looked great. Then obviously put nice little extras in the menu like tweaks (eg super slow motion, infinite ammo extra trophies). So on that bases the remaster has done it's job.

im about 40% of way through and i done collection on ps3 but im enjoying loads more on ps4 remaster,they have done a great job

Nitpicking, removing the multi-player component was a miss. Otherwise a fine remaster of a good, brilliant and competent game. I'll be picking it up.

I am kind of glad in an odd way that the MP isn't included. I only have so many hours in the day and I can't spend all of them on Uncharted 2's MP again.

I hope 4's MP surpasses 2's. Can't wait for the Beta.

It's the grandest effort to remaster a series of single player campaigns ever produced.

This is simply more than a remaster. Nothing else compares. The vastly improved texture resolution, shadow mapping, lighting and particle systems as well as a boost in frame rate is worth it alone - but that is not all Bluepoint did. Updating and creating new geometry and placement of objects, improving the character models, adding new game modes and tweaking the gameplay across all 3 games is more than your standard remaster job. Such a marvellous effort. I'm glad they left out multiplayer if this is what you get from a laser-focused development effort. Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta can't come soon enough.

Plus, it's 30 hours of some of the best action-adventure moments of last-gen for $60. Well worthy!

Absolutely yes. The video uploads don't do it justice. Drake's Fortune didn't look right to me on everything I saw. Fortunately the oddities aren't there. It looks excellent!

Without a doubt it is! Currently going through Drakes fortune on crushing mode (at this rate I'm not looking forward to brutal mode). It's stunning! Getting used to the re-done aiming still.
I noticed that they have little pop up comparisons whenever you do certain things like number of headship and it compares to someone else in your friends list who has played it. That's quite cool!

Lol I hear ya, I've been on it for bout 8 hours strait now and have only just hit chapter 7 but loving every minute also it might be just me but I got plat on both uncharted 2 & 3 and they from what I can remember felt easier on crushing than the first uncharted.

Yeah uncharted 1 was the hardest because they just threw tons of tough sections at ya one after the other. Just finished that water room, thank God for that glitch to get them spawning before you jump down :p

Super quick download times is topnotch. Option for audio mix with surround sound is impressive. Graphics has been lovingly improved.. what more can you ask for?

Grab it even if you own all the PS3 versions.

Nope, not at full price, not without at the very LEAST Uncharted 2s multiplayer. I'd buy this for 15, maybe.

Maybe so, but I'd rather have a several month long broken remastered collection (mp wise)that eventually gets fixed than a remastered collection that will NEVER have multiplayer, not even one that can be fixed.

That's just your perceived value though. It's still 30 hours of gameplay for $60, which is fine for a lot of brand new single-player games, and the Uncharted games are still highly replayable. Plus, I wouldn't want to be the one counting the number of PS4 owners who are newcomers to the series. To them, this is a dream collection, to be able to play the games for the first time in glorious form.

Master Chief Collection is still plagued with issues almost 12 months later, and will NEVER be fixed (which is shocking considering this package is Microsoft's legacy franchise on display on their latest console), especially not once Halo 5 is out. I don't need your excuses. Plenty of games have bugs, but are fixed within days or a few weeks. Halo: MCC is not a massive open-world Fallout from Bugthesta. Have an actual read of the details in that thread of what is STILL going on with MCC almost A YEAR later. You can't defend that crap. Do you find that acceptable, for a HALO game? Microsoft's golden goose representing the legacy of the franchise? Look at the 3rd and 8th post of that thread I posted. Your excuses are absolutely astounding.

Next up, Halo: MCC was outsourced to 5 developers, and weakly patched together by 343i. It was a huge undertaking to do it in the time Microsoft gave those developers to do it. It was the most irresponsibly handled remaster of ALL TIME, and it should have been delayed. Nobody wants that from the Uncharted Collection.... nobody.

You are talking garbage here. Mediocre? There's absolutely nothing mediocre about Bluepoint Games' work on this collection. It's superb. What other remasters have you seen provide brand new geometry to a gameplay space? How about you and read all the technical improvements and brand new game modes added? This Uncharted Collection is a partial remake dude. You're so ignorant.

It's certainly playable for me. If we're going to get technical about it, and consider any small bug or problem as "broken", then every game would be broken, as every game has bugs.

That sataristic quote was to make fun of the morons who have actually said this or agreed with this statement. With uncharted, people's standards for what a remaster should be go right out the window just because uncharted is one of their favs and deserves extra slack because the game is so good that it makes up for the flaws of the mediocre way it's been remastered. Oh, and what's even worse, Sony consider this one of their big titles, a "system seller". You're telling me they couldn't have included TWO multiplayer modes for one of their biggest titles? They couldn't even include ONE? If it at least had uncharted 2 mp, I might have bought it, I didnt care much for u3 mp.

So one to two modes worth of mp modes, not included. Oh, and back to the people using that horrible, anti consumer excuse to justify lack of content, that's bs to assume one or two remastered mp modes would be such a colossal undertaking that it would unavoidably put a strain on the quality of the remastered sp. That's a ridiculous assumption, especially when they try to use MCc as proof. Even if the Nathan drake collection had both mp modes, hell even if it had playlists for maps that rotate between games, it still wouldn't be anywhere near as big of an undertaking as the mcc. To be honest it's not even as good as something like the handsome collection (maybe about on par with the handsome collection, which i consider to be a mediocre remaster), but I feel that this one should've been different, given its "system seller" status and a game that Sony considers one of the biggest in their line up this season.
