N4G Malware Notices: Don't Worry, You're Safe

Christopher writes: "We are getting malware notices on our clickout URLs. This isn't because there is malware on N4G, but because Google has detected malware on sites that we have linked to in the past, likely from search results that people have recently used.

If you read the report from Google at https://www.google.com/safe... you will see that old URLs on our site that people have linked to have had malware, and Google has flagged us for linking to them.

The owners of the site are in the process of working with Google to resolve this issue, since we're not providing malware, only have old links linking to those sites. So, if you see the malware notice, please be assured that it's not on N4G and that you can freely click through at this time to news on other sites because the sites in question have not had news on N4G for over a year."

How do we know that the malware didn't write and submit this article?

uth113121d ago

Nah, the malware would have submitted an article named "We detected your computer is infected, Click here to remove N4G malware" and charged for the "service". I'm onto it ;)

Maleware is OP, needs to get nerfed

Gazondaily3121d ago

I would be really depressed with myself if you were a computer the whole time and I couldn't tell.

PizzaSteve3121d ago

My name is Christopher too. This Christopher is fake. Malware detected.

S2Killinit3121d ago

lol

I don't think the malware is conscious yet.

Gazondaily3121d ago

You never did believe in the power of the cloud. Now you will see the error of your ways.

S2Killinit3121d ago (Edited 3121d ago )

@Septic
hahaha wait is the cloud on our side or the machines side...if they have the cloud, then we are DOOOOOmedd

UltraNova3121d ago (Edited 3121d ago )

hehehe

That's why single player(offline) games rule! You simply cannot trust the cloud since it can go haywire or get infected at any time ;-)

EDIT:

On topic, I get this malware warning from google in all click-outs for the two last days, every single one of them...

Common guys do something about it already.

UKmilitia3121d ago

any reason why i cant access techspy from my pc yet i can from my mobile?

conanlifts3121d ago

Try adding it to your antivirus/ firewall exceptions. I.e. To say it is safe maybe?.might be talking out my arse here, but it's worth a go.

Considering that 99% of N4G articles are clickbait and the other 1% is native advertising, it may as well be an article all about Trojan condoms and give everyone Trojans.

I don't believe you. That is exactly what the malware
would want me to think.

DUN DUN DUUUN.

zombie78rock3121d ago

I hardly click on links on this web site just for that reason. also This web site DRAGS and LAGS Takes a LONG time to load a web page compared to other web sites. I get a lot of tracking cookies from this site or some other sites I visit.

Wenapee3121d ago

Its because of 100000 ads trying to load at the same time. Try an adblocker, should improve things. The ads or past ads could also be a source of malware.

UKmilitia3121d ago

taboola is the cancer of the internet these days

rainslacker3121d ago

Adblocker will really speed up the experience of going through the pages, particularly if you pull up a bunch of articles at a time form the main page that interest you.

I didn't use to have a problem with the ads, as I want N4G to be able to maintain itself, but it's become beyond ridiculous now.

The other issues are more because their servers are not terribly reliable, or possibly their coding of the website is not very efficient.

Concertoine3121d ago

The ads are usually really cheesy too.

Although as someone who is usually looking at this site through my phone, the issue of ads throwing me into the appstore or interrupting me with a video are minimized compared to what it used to be. This site used to be borderline unviewable on an iphone because of those ads.

TheLoCoRaven3121d ago

This is what malware would tell us though . . . :-P

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
