Mother of god, why. So they are basically trying to charge people because they couldn't have possibly implemented a mechanism that makes it so you can't get invaded while offline? This is a load of BS, you guys want me to pay you so I don't lose my shit while i'm offline? Wow

Abriael3115d ago (Edited 3115d ago )

I thought that the fact that FOB invasion could happen at any time, including when you're offline, was pretty much the point of building a FOB to begin with.

Don't get me wrong, I dislike the idea of paid (or even free) insurance, but exactly because it negates the point of building defenses to begin with.

AlphaKennyOne3114d ago

I originally hated my FOB being attacked while I'm offline but now that I put enough hours into the game to be OP my dudes rarely fail to defend. I have them set to lethal and snipers so intruders are easily spotted and shot down.

Got the idea from some other guy when I tried to invade his base and it was almost impossible because he had snipers with battle suits and helmets.

zeee3114d ago

This paid insurance thing is pure bu***it!!!!

-Foxtrot3115d ago (Edited 3115d ago )

It's ridiculous how you can get attacked offline. I just don't understand how it's fair to let someone be attacked when they are not there.

It's unfair for those who's security is weak and don't get to play on it very often. Thanks to this silly gameplay feature everytime I get to build my people up they are taken away from me while I'm offline.

If you go offline then it should be so you don't get any rewards HOWEVER if you set it so you can and see if your security force is up to scratch then you'd obviously get rewarded for having such a strong team.

Imagine if you had a game like Dark Souls and your character stayed around while you were offline then when you came back on you'd be in bigger shit then you left off in. Would be a right p*** take.

generic-user-name3115d ago

I love coming online after a few days and seeing that a few people have failed to invade and I get rewarded handsomely, whatever losses I suffer are easy to replace.

Besides, how are we supposed to get rid of every nuke on earth if nuclear equipped FOBs are offline?

Dario_DC3115d ago

Do what I did, refuse the online agreement terms and that's it, no online for me thank you.

ziggurcat3114d ago

Quite frankly, they should just get rid of that micro-managing nonsense altogether. I just want to know (and I get that it's not the whole game, I'm just being flippant here) when MGS went from a 3rd person stealth game to a god awful tower defence game?

Maybe try backing up your save, go online. Take the hit, load up your old save.

I assume this works..

Either way, it's a pretty stupid implementation. Esp you have no control on who you actually invade.

No real way to go and annoy a friend, just randoms...

I don't wanna ruin a guy's FOB I don't know. I just wanna ruin @Christophers.

showtimefolks3114d ago

Nitrowolf2

that's why i stopped playing. i just can't deal with that

why can they let offline single player gamers enjoy without the hassle of getting everything stolen

Abriael

point of FOB was never ever that. It became that because of you know $$$$$

Gaming insurance for online games what a total con. Don't care how much of a big fan some are, thats a joke.

I really hope this isn't the future as I have a feeling I will no longer play online or arrange a private server with groups.

kma2k3114d ago

The real fucked up thing is the paid option for expanding your base, they make the shit 4 hours or so just to piss you off. Seriously i just loaded up a trainer on pc to instant those. Seriously fuck paying for that!

AHall883114d ago

Welp, I still had a few side ops to do, but I'm out based on principle alone.
Konami stopped digging it's grave and is putting the final touches on an elegant coffin.

nommers3114d ago

I'm glad I didn't sign up for any of the online subscriptions then to be able to play online.

nommers3114d ago

You can still get the online benefits of FOBs, online deployments and daily bonuses.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan165d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara165d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721165d ago (Edited 165d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus165d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow165d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga181d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19181d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19181d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq181d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger181d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder181d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils181d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder181d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85181d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac181d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420181d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim181d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo180d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
