Rainbow Six Siege Unabashedly Wastes Your Time

Hardcore Gamer: This beta’s player-base is spending far more time waiting to play this tactical first-person shooter than actually playing it, which is a bona fide problem no matter how you look at it.

Yeah the failure rate for me is 99%. Since the beta began, I have only been able to succesfully connect to one online game. For the rest of the time I've been relegated to playing terrorist hunt solo.

I was in two minds about getting this game, but now I'm defiantely going to pass. I'll hold out hope for Star Wars Battlefront, and hope the beta at least gives me more playime.

That's a shame. I was invited to the technical test and during those 2 days I gave up because I couldn't find a match. Once the actual beta started I've had really good luck and hardly have to wait for players (Playing on PC FYI). I REALLY enjoyed the beta, but being MP only, I doubt there's enough content to justify the price. Once this hits $30 or below I'll certainly pick it up.

Only played one game but I was matched in less than a minute. I have my own issues with the game, but stuff like this is exactly what this beta is for. Good thing they ran this and didn't release a completely broken game. Master Chief Collection matchmaking suffered the same issue but at least that had 4 complete campaigns to play while it got fixed, this multiplayer only experience would have been a disaster. I hope what happens is they see 85% of games being played are terrorist hunts, and they realize that no coop story was a big mistake cause that is what people want to play. That one multiplayer match was more fun than I expected so I may end up picking the game up, the destruction is definitely excessive though and doesn't feel like rainbow.

this game will live or die all depending on the community. it is all about teamwork and sadly there are just too many losers online to make the game enjoyable unless you create a clan or have enough people on your friends list to have matches at any time.

I was less than impressed with the Beta, but thank christ some companies do betas to at least take the temperature of what they could have right? If they've opened up the servers some, then awesome. I applaud them for seeing that it was an abysmal beta weekend. I'll get back in there this week and then reevaluate my initial reactions.

This is one of the things that Betas are designed to do. Provide feedback and they seem to have taken the feedback to heart for now. Let's see how it goes.

I was invited for the tech test, and i´ve been playing since the 21sth,yes the wating times are trully atrocius, but there was an maitenence yesterday and it became alot better since then,at least at my end, give it another shot, the game is really fun playing with friends

OCEANGROWNKUSH3122d ago (Edited 3122d ago )

Looks like another Ubisoft rush job... Just steering clear of all their games from now on, their incessant need to have yearly iterations all the while rushing games like this to market means i wont be supporting them.

Well, it's true. Games are a time waster.Don't understand the need for disagrees. There is always one who is going to write a negative article about a good game but saying it's a time waster is a stretch because games by nature waster time. Nothing wrong about it.

Living Unabashedly Wastes Your Time

Bathyj3122d ago

I dont consider the time I've pent playing games as time wasted any more than the time I've spent watching movies, listening to music or even reading books, although my Dad may disagree.

You're not him are you?

Summons753121d ago

I hope not (no offense of course) but my dad is the exact same way.

NarooN3122d ago

As far as I've ever been concerned, if I'm havin' fun, it's not a waste of my time, regardless of what it is that's responsible for said fun.

It's funny cause they fixed it today.

"Unfortunately, these moments seem to be few and far between as a result of players simply not having microphones connected or the borderline unacceptable quality of in-game chat"

This is what most developers fail to realise when they try to make this multiplayer only titles. They think everyone is going to act the same way as those well put together, cooperative, buddy, buddy trailers where they work as a team, despite the fact they are fake and hardly no online matches are like that.

In reality it's every man for himself where many players turn their microphones off or mute people because they just can't be arsed to listen to immature comments or they've just came in from a hard days work and don't want blab on with people.

RaTaTaT3122d ago

Or u can play with friends. If you don't have any friends make some with the people who do have their mics on. I've made about 15 new friends sense the start of the beta.

wsoutlaw873122d ago (Edited 3122d ago )

play with friends. Not every game has to be made for everyone.

The connection problems with this beta have been awful and I will now be waiting for some reviews before ever buying it. Hopefully the betta actually helps as they have 2 months to fix some server problems. The game its self runs good.

UBI is SOFT - Crap company & game - no shadows on characters 😂

Garethvk16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

People have not liked some of the recent offerings but they can still make some good stuff but they need to focus a bit on what fans want to see.
