Are anyone else being credited other than Kojima?

I feel like Kojima is the only one getting any real recognition which I am sure there are others that worked hard on his team.

XBLSkull3152d ago

First hour of the game was painful but smooth sailing since then.

SPOILER ALERT

Flying whales that eat helicopters and flaming unicorns? Lol Kojima, I'm not sure why I expected something different.

Gearfox3152d ago

Well that's one way to get back at Konami for removing his name from the front of the box.

GigawattConduit3152d ago

Come tomorrow, we'll hear that he just set his old office on fire

Timesplitter143152d ago

I think that's awesome considering what happened prior to the game's release

DoomeDx3152d ago

It is more annoying then awesome actually.. I understand this guy is amazing and all that, but hes ego is undeniable.

He acts like HE created the game all by himself. But there are more writers then just him. Also there is coders and programmers who deserve some credit aswell.

Orejillz3152d ago

The writers and designers are mentioned in each of these "credit sequences" as well.

donthate3152d ago

I think the public should recognize this more.

I don't think it is Kojima doing this, but rather the fans. Kojima isn't helping it seems though by not talking about his team....

GigawattConduit3152d ago

There's a difference between taking credit for literally everything and not letting a company try and erase you from the history when you're credited to their success.

Of course coders and programmers worked on MGS. Kojima's not a walking supercomputer. But Konami basically took this as his final game and are virtually erasing him from the thing like he had zero involvement whatsoever. That's a dick move, and whether last minute or not, Kojima responded in kind.

vanity293152d ago

You saw the credits for mgs4? It was hilarious. Something like "the voice of god: Hideo Kojima" i love seeing his name in random and in expilict places.

GigawattConduit3152d ago

"Random panhandler: Hideo Kojima"

OhMyGandhi3152d ago (Edited 3152d ago )

I agree with you. I've only played about 2 hours so far, but I couldn't get over how many times it really does show up. He's incredibly talented, but it'd be just as cool for his name to not show up then for it to be stamped all over the place.

Sure he is the brain child behind the whole franchise, but he didn't create it alone.

This was a massive undertaking, and the sole fact that his name is plastered all over the place is incredibly exploitative and puts him in a bad light.

Jonathon Blow made Braid, Arnt Jensen made Limbo, Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes made Super Meat Boy, Tom Happ made Axiom Verge. Hideo Kojima was not working all-nighters as an artist, 3d modeler, writer, musician, programmer as a one man show. But he really wants to make it seem like it.

I have massive respect for guys like him, and Tim schafer, and (what a shock!) Cliffy B, and Ken Levine, but all of those guys freely admit that they would be nothing without their legions of coworkers. At first, like any creative mind, I thought he just wanted the credit, and be acknowledged for his work, but now, I really don't know. You can read my comment history for proof that I love this man as a game designer, but most cannot deny how irritating it is to see his name show up every 5 seconds.

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan168d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara168d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721168d ago (Edited 168d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus168d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow168d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga184d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19184d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19184d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq184d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger184d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder184d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils184d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder184d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85184d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac184d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420184d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim184d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo183d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
