Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the first major release in a while that is cross-generation and getting released for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. This is an impressive achievement on its own considering how majority of the games skip the PS3 and Xbox 360 version in favor of the PS4 and Xbox One.

Kojima should nt have developed MGSV to be cross gen ...he should have focused on current gen only ..Fox Engine is a superb engine which was limited only by cross-gen development and we havent seen anything by its tremendous potential

It's amazing how good fox engine looks on both generations. Although the horseback riding on the 360 version takes a little getting used to at first, the game is stunning on the system regardless

It's still very impressive what they could do with such old hardware. The PS3 version might end up the best selling since Japan is slow to adopt new consoles.

That's doubtful, as PS3 sold around 30 mil in the states, 35 in Europe, a little over 10 in Japan, and 12 in the rest of the world. Japan is slow to adopt consoles by comparison in general. PS4 is about 10, 10, 1.6, and 4 in respectively at the moment. However, as you mentioned, Japan is slow to adopt, while the rest of the world isn't. I expect PS4 to be the top selling console for this game, followed by PS3, then one of the Xboxs... not sure which one, possibly even 360, then PC behind the rest.

The textures are so much blurrier on the 360 version, and the draw distance is reduced a great deal. They did great work on the last gen versions, though.

I got a free code for my PC with my 980ti from eVga looking forward to playing this game it should be a long journey for me. I am sort of a slower gamer take my time with these games..

Looks strong(ish). Current gen consoles remain the preferred method IF you don't own a decent PC, if you do - own a decent PC, this should be the superior (by far) method.

Why by far? I've got a pc and my ps4 version of ground zeroes looks better than my pc version. I guess.... no it can't be!?! All pc's are not equal!?!

Perhaps, and the PC version of Arkham Knight was a mess, yes, BUT, generally/most of the time the PC version of a multi-platform release both looks and (perhaps more importantly) runs far, far better. I'm just playing the odds is all...

That is a huge difference though. Its running twice the frames at a much higher resolution.

Hate to say it but this is just a reminder on how much new hardware doesn't matter like it used to. Barely a jump in graphics between current and last gen.

It depends upon how the developer chooses to use that extra power. For example, Driveclub, Horizon: Zero Dawn and Order 1886 are light years ahead of anything on last gen hardware. There is massive difference in graphics between current gen and last gen Dragon Age Inquisition; I played both.

In case of MGSV, the main difference is in the display resolution and frame rate. They devoted all of that extra next-gen power to increase the number of pixels on screen by 225% and frame rate by 200%. You need to see the game in motion to experience that difference.

Yeah I know. But it just isn't the same comparing to what we have experienced in the past. Gen 5 to 6 and 6 to 7 all had really impressive jumps. It's not the same. It is a difference, but it's not the same.

It's going to look really good on both the PS3 and 360. Ground Zeroes looked fantastic on both as well and I see this performing just as good.

Nice to see the put some AA in. Aliasing on last gen was terrible in some games to the point where it was nearly unplayable sometimes.

PS3 is the system to own this game on. There's nowhere else where you can play all of the MGS games. Real fans play MGS on the PS3, while fake fans play on everything else :D
