XCOM 2 Has Been Delayed

"The release of Firaxis's upcoming turn-based strategy game XCOM 2 has been delayed to February 5, 2016. The game, which is slated for release on the PC, will not be coming out this year because the developers intend to take a little more time to develop it."

I hope this gets a console port eventually. I love XCOM games but don't like gaming on PC much.

"XCOM 2 Has Been Delayed"

NOOOOOOOOO...

One of my most expected games for this year.
Well, now it's one of my most expected games for next year.

freshslicepizza3160d ago

way too many delays in this industry.

ArchangelMike3160d ago

I'm also hoping for a simultaneous console release.

Yetter3160d ago

that makes me sad, but there is a lot of really f'ing good games between then and now so I'm sure I can pass the time

LordMaim3160d ago

Dammit! I've never been so angry and relieved all at the same time. There's too much coming out this fall, but at the same time I would have liked to prioritize XCOM 2. DAMMIT!

MilkMan3160d ago

Its delayed cause they making a console version. Someone did the numbers and realized no money in PC gaming.

Ashlen3160d ago (Edited 3160d ago )

That is such a misinformed statement.

Firaxis makes some of the best selling PC games of all time. Civilization V was released in 2010 and it still is in the top ten most played games on Steam daily.

And while I don't have any numbers I would bet that X-COM probably sold more copies on PC than it did on console, And I am almost certain it was played more hours total on PC especially with great overhaul mods like Long War which adds an incredible amount of new content to the game and can be downloaded absolutely free.

And the series has a VERY long history on PC so much so that there have been dozens of clones remakes mods and spin off games from the original 1994 X-COM all on PC. And the original 1994 game is still popular today.

Angeljuice3160d ago (Edited 3160d ago )

It came out on PS1 (1995). Consoles also have a long history with these games.

Ashlen3160d ago (Edited 3160d ago )

You got me I didn't even know that was the case.

But I'm pretty sure the majority of the following and when you say X-COM most people think of PC.

Seafort3160d ago

Actually it's the other way around.

The consoles sold the least copies of XCOM and PC the most.

This is why we are getting it exclusively on PC and console version hasn't even been announced yet and may not be in the future.

Go sign a petition or something. Sony or Microsoft can't buy the exclusivity this time :)

Roccetarius3160d ago

The thing is though, only the PC players are signing petitions for something like this. We wouldn't want to turn that around now, would we? ;)

Steam my friend, Steam. There is a reason Valve is not making games anymore.

The 5 best games on PlayStation Plus Premium that make subscribing worth it

The PS5 is an incredible console, and if you're lucky enough to have one, or have just received one for Christmas then you'll already know there is a host of great games out there.

What you may not be aware of is that if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium, you'll actually get access to a huge catalogue of titles to play at any time. Many of which you can stream without having to do any downloads. If you have a PlayStation Portal you could even play these titles from your bed.

Abnor_Mal106d ago

Damn the only one I’ve played so far is Miles Morales, although I do own Control and Rift Apart.

ChasterMies106d ago

Odd list. Where is Horizon Forbidden West? Ghost of Tsushima? Demon’s Souls? Returnal? And fun indie games like Superliminal? Where’s “A Plage Tale Requiem” and “Evil West”, the current PS+ Essential offerings?

Exvalos94d ago

Evil west is underrated I'm having a really good time playing it.

juniorpop106d ago

Like seriously? Those are games Extra Tier can get - so not worth upgrading to Premium
