I actually thought they were great :D haha.

DarkOcelet3162d ago (Edited 3162d ago )

Lol, they used the save theme/Mirror theme of The Evil Within. Clair De Lune, so beautiful.

Also that was weird but funny haha. And lol at the waiter, he is like 'What the hell is going on here?'

gif3162d ago

That was entertained.Great job Sony and Konami.

The game itself - its portrayal of women...shocking! Games such as this feel very two dimensional while women are written so unrealistically/shabbily. Shame really, massive opportunity missed...

killbillvolume123162d ago

You really should play metal gear solid 3...... My goodness The Boss was amazing.

LightofDarkness3162d ago (Edited 3162d ago )

Are you a sock puppet here to make the genuinely concerned look bad? Apparently her attire is explained in the game, perhaps you ought to find out about that before you burst into impotent rage.

I'm all for the cause, but this isn't really on the agenda. I don't know anyone who would feel so strongly about this, which leads me to believe you are an agitator and an impostor.

higgins783162d ago

"Her attire is explained in the game"...oh, that's OK then, right? Pathetic. " I don't know anybody who would feel so strongly about this"...well, the fact you don't doesn't mean many won't or shouldn't. The reason it isn't highlighted more is likely those playing/interested in said game are (generally) adolescents who consider this the norm in videogames.

I'm neither an agitator or impostor, rather somebody who has an opinion on the matter - which is still ok I think. Look outside your small circle or friends, you'll probably find many who think this outdated tired portrayal of women in the medium (videogames) insulting.

LightofDarkness3162d ago (Edited 3162d ago )

Your attitude does nothing to help your cause. If you believe being caustic, patronizing and antagonistic is an effective means of communicating your ideas and discussing them with others, then you are an extremely small-minded and ignorant person, just as much as those you supposedly will not tolerate. You are part of the problem, because you refuse to communicate bilaterally, only proselytize from your little internet soap box.

I'm always pointing out similar issues here, particularly with regards to over-sexualization, homophobia and trite female characters (MGS4's BBs come to mind), so you're directing your ire at the wrong person here, kid. Help people understand, don't just condemn people with righteous indignation and moral finger wagging. You only serve to strengthen their resolve and increase their hatred by attacking them so smugly.

Moreover, this is entirely off-topic. In articles where the discussion of over-sexualiztion arises (trust me, there will be plenty), feel free to sound off in a collected manner (without the attitude). Otherwise, this is not the time or place for such a discussion, and dragging it into any irrelevant discussion like you're doing now only serves to relegate you and any point you may have had to vapid contrarian noise because it holds no bearing on the topic at hand. Pick your battles and grow the hell up.

The Boss I think is arguably the best female character in video games.

Probably the most influential character to the story in the series.

isa_scout3162d ago

MGS has always had strong female characters. Some dress normal some don't. The same could be said of the male characters to. Of course the characters are portrayed unrealistically, it's MGS. I understand women being offended by games like Dead or Alive which unashamedly portrays women hyper sexualized, but I think in this instance you're wrong. And why come to a gaming site, click on a game article, comment about a game, and proceed to call anyone who enjoyed/enjoys this type of game an adolescent? You're just asking to open a can of worms when you reach for something that is a non issue.

DafunkyRebel3162d ago

Are you retarded? Metal Gear has the best portrayal of women in any game or movie series. Look at the Boss, the only women in any medium that doesn't require sex appeal but can make grown men cry for her and commands respect and outrage

Now we'll have to see how much the Master Collection will add to those numbers.

Number1TailzFan174d ago

Too bad it was a lazy release. They could've updated the visuals and everything. Missed opportunity.

Stanjara174d ago

...and yet, they couldn't give more respect and effort into the collection.
What a terrible company.

Minute Man 721174d ago (Edited 174d ago )

Are they counting every game?

Edit: they did

Nyxus174d ago

Yes, these are total lifetime sales of the entire series.

ApocalypseShadow174d ago

.... mostly with the help of PlayStation.

Yea I don’t get why they’re allowing old reviews to be posted here. Someone did one on Soul Reaver and I got so excited thinking there was some stealth release of an HD Remaster, but no… it’s just someone who had a slow day posted an old review…

Cacabunga190d ago

I liked the game but for me it felt somehow like a military simulator rather than a proper MGS.. i got bored of that

micdagoat19190d ago

I do wish they would remaster all the soul reavers

micdagoat19190d ago

it was done this morning though

goldwyncq190d ago

The author was in a coma for 9 years and didn't get to play the game when it released.

Chocoburger190d ago

This review arrived just in time for launch. Perfect timing!

RupeeHoarder190d ago

Amazing how bad this game looks already. We keep acting like this gen doesn't feel like an update but I think we're starting to see it.

YourMommySpoils190d ago

Looks better than Starfield, Cyberpunk and most recent games out. Still fine.

RupeeHoarder190d ago

It most certainly does not lol.

andy85190d ago

Have you player Cyberpunk since the first day? It's absolutely stunning now

1nsomniac190d ago

One of the worst games ever made. Absolute overhyped trash!

Snowb420190d ago

The gameplay was great. It was the tacked on open world and repetitive missions that messed the game up.

Shane Kim190d ago

The game started really strong in that hospital, but after a couple of hours I wondered if it was even an mgs game I was playing.

KyRo189d ago

The hospital section was the only bit that felt like a MGS game.

MGS4 was the ending for me. I totally ignore the fact 5 exists. It didn't need to exist tbh
