What I don't get is why plenty of MS-published games aren't backwards compatible. Crackdown 1 and 2, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon and Ninety-Nine Nights are all games I'd enjoy on my Xbox One, all published by MS, yet MS have yet to make them compatible.
Has anyone tried getting games up and running on it. Horrible framerate for gears 3 and judgement. Its so choppy that horde in gears 3 is almost unplayable. Anyone having performance issues like this?
Same. Judgement had Zero flaws for me.
And the colors seem to be more vibrant on the Xb1.
I also think it has uses a slightly sharper more effective upscaler than the 360 had.
I thought people who were saying this were trolling, because I am have no issues what so ever. But it seems like some are having legit issues. I was tempted to call people liars, but I am glad that is not my preferred way to communicate. Sorry for those who are having issues. The good new is that it can be addressed, as many of us are running fine. Gears3 I can personally testify, is running excellently and I have the original X1 with no external drive or anything else added. My disk is at 98% usage, and I have Kinect connected. Torchlight and others run well too.

I played gears 3 online last night and was asking people in the match if they were playing on 360 or x1 cause i did not remember the frames being so unstable, someone told me its because i got use to new gen but i am pretty sure gears 3 multiplayer was not this choppy feeling when i first played. Also at one point during the match all my sound went out and i had to quit out boot back up the game and sat at a black screen, quit out rebooted and then got back into the game, launched the the multiplayer and ended up jumping right back into the same match w/ the same people. I know this just rolled out so i am not worried but there IS problems with some of these game right now.
Nah. You're right on 360 gears had a solid frame rate. Dips happened on boss waves when things got hectic. Frame rate was dipping during ticker waves on xb1 which was quite annoying. I had sound issue too. When I snapped YouTube with gears. My sound mixer was set to giving full audio to snapped apps and main apps to silent. But sound piped through gears and the app. I think that's a bug with the new dashboard. I restarted the snapped app and it worked properly after that. But the framerate... phew
Yea ok, i mean i know gears ult ran good but not so much i can't deal w/ last gen lol. Sucks, do you think something can be done seeing as how this all works tech wise or is this just how its gonna be? I hope it smooths out cause theres so many community's like gears 3 that can live again.
I was checking out digital foundry and their assessment on the bc titles. Its seems there's a forced vsync active on xb1 to prevent screen tears on the 360 titles it seems this is the reason for the choppy frames. I'm going reinstall it to see if its fixed. Coz at this point gears 3 is essentially unplayable for me. And that's after playing Ac unity on ps4.
Try uninstalling it maybe ? Re install, not sure what else as its fine. I'd be the first to moan if it wasn't, Horde is my favorite mode in any coop game & I was so looking forward to going back on it as I sold on my 360..

I hope they don't do what they did with the Xbox/Xbox 360 BC, fill us full of big promises then half way deliver.

can anyone tell me if there's a short cut to fill screen achievements? i used to have the achievements app in my pins bit since the update it opens achievements in snap.
from home i need to go left, up, a, a, down, a. anyone know a faster way?
I have the exact same problem. It's really annoying because when I open it it starts the last app or game I was playing with achievements in snap. The only other problem ive got is in my games and apps you used to be able to remove games from the ready to install list but now you can't. hopefully they will fix it soon
Go to the left on the new giude menu and go on your profile and click on int and there will be my achievments
ye that's what i described with the button presses. i feel that's to many for something that i use ask the time. hopefully we get an option to say whether there achievements app opens full screen or snapped

Microsoft has been great with regular updates for the Xbox One ever since its launch, they have already released the New Xbox one Experience today, which is a complete and total overhaul of the console UI, but the console’s launch was a mess- the Xbox One launched with some very basic functionality missing, and while so much of it has been added in the years since, in many ways, Xbox One is still not on par with the Xbox 360.
It definitely has evolved a lot since launch. You really gotta hand it to them.
I'm excited to see what else is in store for the X1
Xbox has become my main console over the last couple of months, I find all the changes and updates quite exciting!
It's a necessary evolution. The Xbox One user interface and navigation is finally at a stage where it should have been almost 2 years ago, bar the backwards compatibility and W10 integration.
Excited to see what they've planned for the future.
Cool beans disingenuous-user. Previous dashboard left some to be desired, but it got the job done. New dash sends the competition packing! hats off to MS.
There's still quite a bit to fix and add in the new Xbox experience.
Compartively, PS4's user interface and speed is still a lot better in my experience and opinion.
However, the new Xbox guide is absolutely fantastic.

I've used both consoles for some time now, therefore I feel obliged to give my honest opinion.
Mike Ybarra hinted at 2 or 3 big ideas of the same scope as BC being announced within 12 months. The source article, from Windows Central, also generalizes performance gains from DX12(I.E. not massive) as well as mentions how Win 10 updates can also affect future console graphics performance. Win 10 and DX12 seem to be working together to improve XB1 capabilities.
They;ve done a great job so far, Just waiting for Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon to be added to BC. :)
I wasn't in the preview program. Now I have BC I am blown away by it. It feels really great having access to my old favorites that I haven't played in years. I am actually holding off some of the new stuff for now, because I am enjoying going true my old games so much. Gears 3 is so much fun! It grabs you from the start and just keeps pulling you through event after event. That game is so had to put down. I almost had to call out from work for an old a** game that I played before. People who say access to you old classic aren't a big deal are just plain wrong on this one. The thing is I still have my 360 and never have the urge to boot it up. But playing these games on my X1 seems very fresh for reasons that I really cant explain... just feel and looks better.
because you still have access to all the features of the xbox one. Playing 360 games on Xone is like playing native xone games. It's fantastic.
exactly papp, i was up til 5am eastern time playn gears of war judgement, funny thing is dont own a gears game at all not even the ultimate edition.
Ive gotten judgement thru G.W.G now im telling myself maybe i shud pick up Gears Ultimate after all.
Hell even back then some friends of mines ask me why i dont play it, but id rather watch them play the gears campaign i know the hord modes were the shit back then on gears 2 n 3.
Wonder what additions we'll see this time next year. So far very impressed with the work the guys/girls at Microsoft have been producing.
Hoping for a stellar 2016. The lineup looks very meaty, more so than this year.

I would like to see the same implementation as X360 has for buying games.
If you have over 100 games then instead of displaying all the games, then they should display the letters of the alphabet as tiles and you click one to go and see the games for that letter.
When you have a lot of games, displaying them all takes too long, wastes performance, and networking.
Can't wait for the new dashboard.
This is really hard to understand without any visual elements. Hes talking about doing all these things and hitting buttons and triggers, and I have no clue how it looks.

Does it include custom sound tracks? Really miss that feature from 360 and OGxbox
New dash looks so sick, when i saw the first video of it at E3 i was literally jaw to the floor. It is so fast, literally everything is instant. No more opening apps for simple things like friends, messages, party etc. Everything is exactly where you want it, cant wait for this, o and CORTANA, the things she can do or that were shown with the X1 are INSANE.
