You possibly remember Jaleco’s Bases Loaded released starting in 1987 for Arcades, Nes and Game Boy. It even hit Nintendo’s Virtual Console for Wii, 3DS and Wii U.
Today Mebius announced that it’s working on a new PS4 game to revive the IP, scheduled for release in Japan this winter.
The PlayStation 4 Bases Loaded game, known as Moero!! Pro Yakyuu in Japan, will launch in the country in spring 2016, Mebius and Clarice Games announced. It was previously planned for a winter release.
Full details about the game have not yet been announced, but Bases Loaded will use the same pixelated style as its 1987 predecessor.
Omg the Jaleco game? Hahaha I played the crap out of this like 25 years ago.
Would anyone play this given how it looks as it looks like it came straight from 1987
A.J. says: "I don't like sports but for some reason I love playing baseball video games. Here, I'll cover all the bases as to why this sport appeals to non-fans like me so let's get this ball game going."
A look back at the original NES Bases Loaded as it aims for a new generation
I remember playing the Game Boy version of this game as a kid, to me retro sports games are more fun than modern ones.
An amazing game. A real leap up from RBI baseball and Major League Baseball (the game).
I know the Show is the end all be all- but actually have a soft spot for the Japanese only baseball games like Baseball Spirits and Powerful Pro Baseball.
Now as for Bases Loaded it was the fist baseball game I actually played as a kid (Bases Loaded II). Fingers crossed this gets a western release!
Man both BL1&2 were my favorite baseball games back then. I hope they capture the spirit of both games in this one.
Meanwhile we still get articles still stating PS4 had no exclusives
Damn this makes me feel old. What's next? Double Dribble? Hogans Alley?
Wow, Bases Loaded and Baseball Stars from SNK were my favorite baseball games back then on NES.
