Bloodborne Patch: Breaks Game: Lvl 10 can now Summon Lvl 120

FromSoftware's latest patch is game-breaking. A level 10 player can now summon players up to level 120. This make boss fights and general enemies, trivial. This also makes invasions useless because level 10 characters can now have +10 Weapons and endgame gems(The Definition of Twinking). I feel sorry for the casual gamer, who just started this game and who will be demolished with absolutely no chance of winning.

ReconHope3255d ago

Say hello to a influx of twinker and gank squads.. FromSoftware f###### up with this one

ReconHope3255d ago (Edited 3255d ago )

To all the disagrees I know you guys probably don't think this is a big deal. But this is a massive F-U to the PVP community. Also It abolishes any challenge for new players. The changes are already noticeable to the PVP community . Just look at comment #10 in this comment section.
"Happened to me yesterday. A guy joined in my brother's game on a sinister bell while we were doing co-op, my brother is lvl 60, i'm 225. I killed him with 2 hits with Ludwig's Holy blade lol."

Also FYI to people that don't quite understand how PVP works. PVP does not Use a Password so you can invade a person who has a password on who is cooping.

From a company that is known for their hard games this is really catering to the below average gamer.

Gohadouken3255d ago (Edited 3255d ago )

Judgeing from the response you're gathering , it's more important for people , at least those here , to co-op more easily even at the expense of pvp . Sucks for you guys , maybe , but it's how it is ... since they decided on this system that was detrimental to mp , compared to how it used to be in Demon and Dark .

Co-op was pretty much dead ... with everyone secluded into their own bracket , if they didnt start at the same time ... and if they dont care for LFPs pages on reddit and elsewhere .

Hell being forced to rely on websites for those is a pretty big flaw for mp imo . i'm all for random pairing as a flavor when it comes to online , but this was a mess .

They'll probably fix it somehow for pvp , but the option was definitively needed

Bimkoblerutso3255d ago (Edited 3255d ago )

Well, even if they wanted to make cooping easier, there could have easily been some kind of scaling incorporated to curb all the inevitable exploitation.

I'm sure we'll get SOMETHING like that in a future patch. Too much can go wrong with the way things are now.

RAM0N 3255d ago

Wow lol time to invade and troll

Gazondaily3255d ago

Haha omg yes. I hope this isn't patched until I get home.

IIFloodyII3255d ago

Yes, they removed the level matching for people who use a code to find each other.

generic-user-name3255d ago

Yeah but only for people using a code, this shouldn't happen ordinarily.

Baka-akaB3255d ago (Edited 3255d ago )

It was either that or keeping a dead online with people giving up meeting each others for co-op with the restrictions . Unless of course they planned it according to levels between friends or on reddits and forums .

A simpler road would have been downgrading the base level of the guy joining someone's sessions , if needs be ... but they didnt

Masterofwiiu3ds3255d ago

My understanding is that you can only summon people who share your same password. Meaning, they removed the level cap ONLY if you want to play with people that you know.

Therefore, PvP is still locked to the same levels as it previously was.

If this is true, this article is VERY misleading.

Baka-akaB3255d ago

Even then they are still mad that people will get items they dont "deserve" via co-op then pvp with them .

I can't say that i care . Being able to actually co-op with known people without lvl restrictions is much more important than their fancy dueling . At least compared to Demon and Dark souls , considering how it's setup .

That being said , it could be better thought out . Most other games would lower the level of the highest party in the session or at least massively bump monster counts and difficulty

ReconHope3255d ago (Edited 3255d ago )

Your apathy is saddening, honestly. It's not just fancy dueling that happens in Chalice Dungeons. This affects basic PVP invasions. If I'm a level 40 and I invade someone I expect to fight people in my level/skill range not someone that is 150 levels higher .

@Masterofwii who says the quoted text below. Your assumptions of how PVP works are wrong so I don't understand how you got 30 agrees.

"My understanding is that you can only summon people who share your same password. Meaning, they removed the level cap ONLY if you want to play with people that you know.

Therefore, PvP is still locked to the same levels as it previously was.

PVP is not locked to the same level. So, what you just said was false. How you got 30 agrees is beyond me.

Baka-akaB3255d ago (Edited 3255d ago )

My "apathy" actually comes from their imo mediocre mp system compared to their previous games .

And again i expect a fix for your situation so i feel for you ... but i guess you'd rather be fixated on my usage of "fancing dueling"

but in the mean time co-op was a little too dead and a more pressing matter than pvp for a majority .

die_fiend3255d ago

I think you're right here. People going nuts over nothing!

But BB should have a 'join on person' system not this dumb password thing. If they're not imposing no contact and actually allowing you to play with friends, what is the point in making it such a pain in the arse like it is? A few of my friends sold up after completion due to this!

Baka-akaB3255d ago

Also i've mostly seen casual switch to offline once they realize they are getting ganked in the Nightmare zones . And they are unlikely to bother with pvp open chalices ...

Volkama3255d ago

The idea is that someone can buddy up with their level 120 friend, get powerful items that should be out of their reach, and then abuse their misgotten power against unknowing folk in normal PvP.

Would take a certain type of loser to do it, but it'll probably happen.

Masterofwiiu3ds3255d ago

I think the logic is flawed here. If someone is level 120 because they buddied up with a friend, they can still only play PvP versus people who are around their level.

You talk about it as if some 120 level player is going to be able to fight against people less powerful, but that just ain't true.

Baka-akaB3255d ago (Edited 3255d ago )

No he is saying that at lower level he's be getting items via co-op he wouldnt otherwise obtain , unless extremly skilled ... and then pvping against people from his level bracket with overpowered items he shouldnt have

DragonKnight3255d ago

I'm sorry but this isn't an issue. The way weapons are set up in this game, no weapon is significantly more powerful than another and some people even use the starter weapons their entire playthrough because of that fact. Beast Claws and Burial Blade being end game weapons only useful if you delay the true ending so you can PVP with them in NG, or go to NG+ for PVE is quite ridiculous and I'd welcome someone willing to give me a Burial Blade to try out for a new character.

This also brings back the kind of sharing that happened in Demon's Souls where whole groups of people would be willing to share and trade items and I'm perfectly happy with that. Bloodborne is an excellent game, but the ability to build your character is the most restrictive it's ever been in the Souls franchise and FromSoft are pushing Chalice Dungeons way too much so forgive me for not complaining that someone with spare Blood Rocks they aren't going to use is willing to give my beginning of game character 1 so I can +10 my weapon early instead of having to incessantly grind or take some roundabout path in Nightmare Mensis to avoid Frenzy. Run on sentences FTW.

Volkama3255d ago

Not saying I think it's a big issue. I was just explaining the theory presented by the article.

I don't really consider Bloodborne a competitive PvP game, and knocking down barriers to social play is a positive imo.

ReconHope3255d ago

Quoting DragonKnight below
"I'm sorry but this isn't an issue. The way weapons are set up in this game, no weapon is significantly more powerful than another and some people even use the starter weapons their entire playthrough because of that fact. "

Your not taking vitality into account. At lower levels almost all fully maxed out weapon with endgame gems can 1-2 kill you. If you don't see this as exploitative and leading to twinking. I don't know what to tell you.

Wiki Definition of twinking-
Twinking refers to a character gaining equipment with the assistance of a higher level character, particularly by giving said low level character higher level equipment that is otherwise unattainable,[2][3][4] or the process of keeping a video game character at a low level while using in-game currency, earned by a high level character, to provide it with superior equipment.

All this will lead to very unbalanced and OP people running around.

If that's true then I'm happy they did it. I had to stop playing and wait for my friend to catch up to me. I'm sure a lot of other people have had to do the same

The 7 Best Souls-Like Games - Mastering the Challenge

The Souls-like genre remains popular, along with FromSoftware's classics there are many contenders. But which are the best Souls-like games?

toxic-inferno22d ago

Hmm... In my opinion, the 7 best are the 6 made by FromSoftware (DeS, DS1, DS2, DS3, BB and ER), then Lies of P. But each to their own.

kevco3322d ago

Still DS1? You don't feel it's been surpassed yet?

Demon's Souls has the remake of course, but DS1 has surely been outdated?

Smellsforfree22d ago

I think that the DS1 remake is better looking than DS2. The interior lighting matched with the low resolution textures in DS2 is very garish, IMO.

Besides graphics, what do you mean by DS1 being "outdated"? I'm someone who played through Elden Ring and just recently played through the DS series, and as far as gameplay went, there were all very similar.

Cacabunga22d ago

I haven’t played many but Bloodborne and NIOH1 are on top of my list.. had a blast with these 2

toxic-inferno21d ago

For world design and interconnectedness (that's a word, right?) DS1 is yet to be beaten.

9 Years Later, Does Bloodborne Deserve All The Praise It Gets?

Saad from eXputer: "Almost a decade later, it's time to take the nostalgia goggles off and accept that Bloodborne has long been surpassed by its successors."

jznrpg23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

Yes, yes it does. It’s still a great game. Elden Ring isn’t better just different and a bit easier . I like that you have to be aggressive but smart in Bloodborne

thorstein23d ago

I literally replayed it recently and it's better than I remember. I think it's like going back to a beloved book and noticing things I hadn't before.

raWfodog23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

Yo! I was getting ready to reply with the exact same four words you started with lol. Yes, I think Bloodborne has withstood the test of time and remains a great game. That’s why all the fans are hoping for a sequel someday. Hoping that we can catch that magic again with a new storyline.

Leeroyw23d ago

Yes. Just replayed it a few days ago. My first Platinum. And yes. I rage quitted so many times and called it BS too when I started. It's tight. The combat is amazing and the lore is rich.

GamingSinceForever23d ago

Elden Ring was easier? I don’t know about that at all. I remember leveling up in Bloodborne and breezing through it. In Elden Ring no matter how powerful I got I was still catching a beat down from every boss.

thorstein23d ago

That's due to scaling enemies. I remember not doing Haligtree untill near the end and having enemies withstand almost a full blast from Azur's Glintstone Staff Comet Azure. My level was quite high.

Melee characters are not fun in that game, especially for the Elden Beast.

Bloodborne's Potential Remaster Continues To Be Sony's Biggest Missed Opportunity

"Sony is missing out on a hugely profitable opportunity by ignoring fan demands for a Bloodborne remaster and PC port," says Ahmed from eXputer.

thorstein52d ago (Edited 52d ago )

Bloodborne came out on the PS4. It is owned by From Software. What missed opportunity? I am sure the people at From Software know what they are doing. Especially since they are hiring devs instead of laying them off.

Maybe do an article about that instead of writing a hit piece on them acting like they don't know how to run their business.

52d ago
-Foxtrot51d ago (Edited 51d ago )

To be fair Hidetaka Miyazaki said in an interview

“Unfortunately, and I’ve said this in other interviews, it’s not in my place to talk about Bloodborne specifically. We simply don’t own the IP at FromSoftware.”

So the ball kind of is in Sonys court, it feels like a missed opportunity because it’s something people really want and Sony just hasn’t really been bothered to get it off the ground. There was rumours it was at one point but it all went silent.

Cacabunga50d ago (Edited 50d ago )

Sony has been missing nothing but opportunities for a few years now.. since GOW release, it’s worrying silence we’ve been getting..

As for Bloodborne, imo it would be too soon to release it because PS4 game still looks phenomenal..

Bloodborne REMAKE I think will be PS6 launch title by Bluepoint. I truly hope so! 2 gens later we can get the same wow effect as Demons Souls.

Eonjay50d ago

He is right because it is Sonys IP but a little further back he also explained that they only work on one game at a time. This means that From must also be available. In other words it could already be in the pipeline. Ecen if that is the case, it's still up to Sony to reveal it when they are ready. As ever, I prefer not to hear about it until it's about 3 to 6 months from releasing.

CrashMania51d ago (Edited 51d ago )

'Bloodborne came out on the PS4. It is owned by From Software'

Actually Sony owns the IP, same with Demon's Souls. I think they'd prefer if From did the work on any future of both of those though, but if Sony wanted to they could have those off to anyone else to work on them, like the DS remake.

thorstein51d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Yeah. Thanks for the info.

But I still think that remasters should wait a generation. And Blue Point did Demon's Souls which was superb.

It can be a huge risk. And I think Hidetaka Miyazaki hinted that it would be a PS6 title. I don't he has no say in what happens, it's a partnership.

--Onilink--50d ago

To be honest, if there is a remake/remaster (not that it needs one) I would prefer someone else to handle it, like they did with Demon Souls

From many perspectives From Soft is an amazing developer, BUT, on a technical level they are far from impressive, both in terms of dated visuals (again, on a technical level, not art/design) and usually poor performance.

And what is the point of a remake/remaster if not to provide a visual and performance enhancement to a game that already nailed the rest?

Michiel198950d ago

@thorstein what huge risk? Part of one of the most well known ip's in gaming nowadays, there's not much risk there when it comes to a remake.

thorstein50d ago

@Michiel

I meant remasters in general are a huge risk, not Bloodborne.

Bloodborne isn't, but I think it's going to be on PS6, like how Demon's Souls went from PS3 to PS5.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thorstein,

Wow, your post seems angry..relax it's an opinion.

And btw, it is on Sony, they have the exclusive right to the game, on top of that, they could have easily, at bare minimum, offered an official 60fps patch, with a few extras and charged people $10 to upgrade or $30-40 for new buyers.

I believe I saw an interview where , FromSoft said it was all up to Sony on a sequel and other dealing with the game.

A "hit peice", that serious huh?..relax lol.

thorstein50d ago (Edited 50d ago )

Wow you seem angry. I responded to crash 2 days ago about the remaster and who did it.

Why do you care what other people think in a moment about some journalism. Calm down, buddy, it's just my opinion. From 3 days ago.

Edit: I just went back through my comments and found 2 where I call out the author in the past month. Wow, I'm a rageaholic.

It will be a launch title on PS6 just like the remake of Demon's Souls for PS5 launch

OhReginald50d ago

Sony realizes people will flock to buy ps6s for a bloodborne remake. Easy money.

Rumored it’s slated for PS6 launch. Some say PS5 Pro. Who knows ?

P_Bomb50d ago

Highly requested, unfortunately neglected.
