What Happens To The Batman Arkham Series After Arkham Knight?

ThisGenGaming says "As you may have heard by now Arkham Knight is Rocksteady’s last foray into the Arkham series. For those that do not know they made Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. They did not make the Arkham Origins game that was actually made by Warner Bros. Games Montreal. Which brings up the question with Rocksteady stepping down from the game after they finish the trilogy will another studio take over the series?"

TheJacksonRGN3257d ago

I...f^cking like that title!

Meltic3258d ago

Sure batman is cool but why not a superman game starring Clark kent ? would be cool as well

showtimefolks3258d ago

A superman game

Superman vs batman game

I would love to see them do a punisher game but that's more of a pipe dream.

soul-assassin-3257d ago

Definitely a punisher game. I loved playing the original

Gaime3257d ago

Superman vs Batman game would be awesome.

ERFO3257d ago (Edited 3257d ago )

I honestly think they'll keep on going by another team but it will loose it's special spark since Rocksteady won't be developing them.

They'll probably end up like Arkham Origins, the familiar Arkham game feel but not much improvement or advancement on the series.

However since Rocksteady will be moving on, it's nice to speculate on what they could do now.

I honestly want them to do a Constantine or a Green Arrow game...but the proper Green Arrow not that shit in Arrow which has changed far too much to the source material.

If Rocksteady was allowed to Marvel stuff I wouldn't mind seeing the Punisher or Daredevil.

RiseofScorpio3258d ago

Or a Green Lantern game. The ring constructs would create some majestic gameplay.

k-dillinger3257d ago

but up until now arkham origins was by far the best in the series better fighting better setting better story gameplay didn't change but added i believe if they would have hidden who made it or slapped rocksteady on the box ppl would have loved the game and not showed so much hate becuz most of the hate was aimed at the ppl who made it not the product itself

I think the writings on the wall as to what's next for the Arkham franchise & the 2 devs involved in it: loose movie tie-ins. Montreal spent a fair bit of time setting up Suicide Squad in Origins so I'm guessing their next game will be a Suicide Squad title in time for the movie. Rocksteady have been making a big showing of their Dual Play feature which seems like testing for a future Justice League game to tie in to those movies. I'm willing to bet that Arkham Knight has a lot of easter eggs detailing the entire DCU this time & the JLA in particular, and potentially that Superman cameo rumor business could be legit. WB has a penchant for movie tie-ins & the success of the Arkham franchise will likely have gotten the brass' attention so they will most likely be throwing their 2 cents into the future of the franchise & their concerns lie w/ those films & creating a larger shared universe out of anything & everything they can. The Suicide Squad & JLA titles will still be set in the Arkham universe though & at least Rocksteady are pretty trusted devs so hopefully they can make these titles worthwhile.

Meltic3258d ago (Edited 3258d ago )

hopefully they will move on. Why not a superman game ? starting in smallville Clark kent.

Hoffmann3258d ago

Superman vs Batman of course. Or the studio is going to work on other Dc heroes game series which would be a nice change.

A Green Arrow game series or for the first time ever, a really good Superman game would be nice.

We wait for the inevitable remasters

Kill the Justice League Is More Gotham Knights Than Batman: Arkham - & That's a Bad Sign

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has more in common with Gotham Knights than the Batman: Arkham games. Here's why that's a bad thing.

Marvel's Spider-Man Is Still The Best Batman: Arkham Successor

Tf are you talking about? Nearly every aspect of the game was built off the Spider-Man 2 ps2/xbox game including the combat, not Arkham

gangsta_red485d ago

I really don't understand how anyone could not see that the glaring similarities

isarai485d ago

Read the article bro, the dev says "in regards to how it handles its characters" the journalist is the one that talks about gameplay not the dev.

Outside_ofthe_Box485d ago

Arkham series set the foundation for all future licensed superhero games going forward. No longer will quick movie-tie-ins be accepted. Rocksteady is legendary for that.

RaveTears484d ago

James Gunn just recently said that DC games are pretty much going to be tie-in to TV/Movie.

blackblades484d ago (Edited 484d ago )

Who dat, we should tell him to F off and get ready for 3/10 scores.
Googled: Oh that guy, DC is dying with all the shake up, lol Harley Quinn musical

WeAreLegion484d ago

Web of Shadows had an excellent combat system. The game obviously wasn't polished, but that combat was fire.

ZeekQuattro484d ago

Yeah it did. Shame its planned sequel was axed.

StarkR3ality484d ago

Some of the best superhero media ever, never mind games. Both 2 of the best franchises in gaming.

Just a shame only one of them is currently still going. Would love a new batman Arkham game on current gen considering how good Knight still looks to this day. Would be amazing.

Notsofast484d ago

even though spider man does take somethings from batman its not as much as some people might think for one spider man 2 and the amazing spider man games were all similar to marvels spiderman its just that when games get to old people forget them so batman actually is also copying spiderman

Gotham Knights Did Make Me Miss One Thing About Batman: Arkham

Gotham Knights' enemies lack one key component that made almost every combat encounter in Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series so memorable.
