They've gotten better over time. I can get away with playing some pretty intensive games in an Iris-based system.

Intergrated graphics on the CPU. Not great, but with DX12 we will be able stack it with our discrete GPU (currently you only use one or the other).

It's mostly laptops that people use to game now. Most gamers are not your hardcore PC gamers, but regular people with laptops for work and play.

Most gamers with rigs have laptops. I have a decent rig but for some weird reason I only ever been asked To do a survry on my $250 laptop it only took 7 years so I take surveys with a grain of salt. Especially when people have multiple laptops and survey seem not as accurate as it seems.

No big surprises here, although this being Steam stats, I would have expected Linux to have some somewhat bigger numbers since Steam offers a decent variety of linux compatible games.

With SteamOS being fully realized this November, I would assume that number will skyrocket. Im looking forward to giving it a try on my gaming rig. Dual-boot would be a likely option anyways.
