2015: Why the PS4 Remains the Best Console

All those exclusives are on my list aside from the 3rd party games. Its a great year so far.

I myself also prefer singleplayer games, especially RPGs, I literally bought WiiU only for the one game Xenoblade Chronicles X.
I think exclusives have significance mostly on region where the sales are neck-to-neck, or for people who want to buy second consoles like me.

For gamers who can only afford one consoles, whether because of finance or angry mother/wife reasons environment plays a bigger part than exclusives. Previous consoles, friends, local stores, media.. there's all kinds of factor instead of just who has the greatest exclusives. Like for example in my country's biggest internet forums, the first place people go to when they look for friends to play with, barely 10 people there play Titanfall on XB1 on its peak. And don't ask how many play Halo:MCC, it almost didn't have a forum thread.

So yeah, it's not like people around the world blindly hate some consoles and sheeps buying things because of hype or some dumb nationality reasons, it's just that our environment makes the choice obvious from the start. Unless you have money of course.

Number 3 the price,good move on sony for that one,even if it means they took camera out at the last minute to undercut xbox. Now it bites them in the ass when they are pushing morpheous and you need the camera.

All 3 things that go against the xbox and you have recipe for disaster except the xbox one is thriving in it. The updates keep coming,games keep coming and the windows 10 overhaul will make the ps4 look like the ps3.5 that it is.

6 years ago the xbox 360 was looked at a super media center and the ps3 was catching up. Gaming consoles were becoming all in one media boxes. Now everything has Netflix,hulu Pandora and youtube. Its no longer special and now the ps4 and xbox one are looked at as basically gaming consoles. That all changes when you introduce things like game streaming, universal windows apps, tv dvr'ing and you know they have much more things planned only possible on xbox or a microsofts platform. This is just the beginning, it was beta tested for the future :)

The Order was a good game that sold pretty well. Bloodborne did not "made gamestop rich with all the trade ins ", you are spreading baseless lies. Stop trying to downplay Playstation exclusive games.

Both consoles have good indie games, but PS4 has far more higher rated indie games and more higher games overall. Stop blindly praising some indie games and blindly hating others.

PS4 is not #1 based on hype, it deserves every sale. It has a large game library, a solid online network, and it's the most powerful console.

PS4 is also getting many updates, including the major 2.50 update.

Lbp was an awesome game so I don't see your problem. Not a racing fan but I heard DC was a very good game once the bugs were fixed. If halo mcc gets a pass for its bugs so does DC. Also last year doesn't only consist of september to december so on top of lbp and dc there's infamous second son, tlou remastered, mlb etc. Compare that to titanfall in the same time period. Both consoles have good games, it depends on what the gamer wants to play. It's not fair to trash PS4's library because it doesn't have an abundance of shooters like Halo, Gears, or Titanfall.

PS4 has a wider variety of genres and higher rated games in non-shooter/racing genres.

btw the ps3 did not outsell the ps3. Not only did it not outsell the 360 it came in last place in the US and worldwide. If the xbox finished in last it w be acceptable,they were coming off a successful but no way near the ps2 success with the OG xbox,to destroy the ps3 in America and overall win worldwide on just yo second attempt is no small feat. The xbox one will be in first place in America by next holiday. Sony outsells it by 20 to 30k every month but come nov and dec xbox one outsells the ps4 by 500-700k,ou do the math.

Seriously, it is like comparing 2 movie studio. One studio has Avengers 2 and Star War coming out and the other studio might have a bit more releases like Mall Cop 2 and a bunch of independent films but they are not blockbuster movies that most of the gaming public are looking forward to.

Games like Tomorrow Children and Until Dawn are not big games regardless of how Dualshockers are trying to hype them up on N4G with beautiful 1080p screenshots. The Order 1886 bombed like Battlefield Earth and the only exciting AAA game for PS4 in 2015 that we know of or have been released is Bloodborne but MS has the Avengers: Age of Ultron videogame equivalent in Halo 5 and also secured a great IP in 2015 in Tomb Raider, not to mention the highest racing series in Console history is also making a return after 2 years in Forza 6 and one of the most wanted HD remastered game/seires was spotted running on XB1 in Gears of War that most likely will also be out in 2015 as well.

For my money, xbox definitely has more exciting games in 2015. Seriously, after Uncaharted 4 got delayed (which breaks my heart), I can't imagine turning my PSr4 on in 2015 at all because I don't play niche and indie games and all my third party games are on PC while the mentioned Xbox exclusives will keep my XB1 busy. Hoping E3 will bring in a surprise or two for PS4 to be released at the end of the year.

I have both consoles and prefer the PS4 but lets compare 2 similar games on either platform,Infamous SS and Sunset Overdrive,both good games with one major difference,multiplayer,no one here ever mentions replayability/longevity.
Xbox games have way more replayability than most Sony exclusives,it is the same with The Order and a Gears remastered,people will get their moneys worth 10 x over with Gears what about The Order??
TLOUR MP is where I spend 99% of my gaming time Sony need more great games like this with replayability,and yes the response will be you can go through the game a million times looking for every collectible or trophy/achievement,multiplayer makes a game have a different outcome every time you play,I only buy exclusives on X1 and I can say that Gears,Halo 5,FH2 and SSOD will keep me busy way into the end of next year and to me thats the biggest difference between the big two.
Honest answer,will Until Dawn keep you busy for 12 -24 months????

I don't own stock in any console, and I've owned all three since their first gen...after giving them a fair shot this gen X1 definitely seems like the best rounded console by far, and it has the most promising future from this point onward.....but you can't express that opinion here, only ones that say X1 sucks and PS4 is god cause "I said so".

It's clear that PS4, while being a good console, is seeing success due to marketing capturing the casual market. Survey's of WHY gamers got a PS4 typically have answers like "my friends got one", then you mix that with things like MS shooting themselves in the foot and PS4 being $100 cheaper for the first 8 months...then the fact that despite having the hardware sales lead, games attach ratios are higher on X1, and number of hours of games played are twice as high(by over 1 billion hours) on X1...it's clear where people are playing their games.

That's not happening with the PS4. The sales of 3rd party software proves that wrong. What's happening is that previous 360 and Wii owners are migrating to the PS4. That's really it.

Games attach Ratios and Number of hours played are also objective...and they relate much more directly to satisfaction with the console....so if we are going for what people think is "the best", then clearly the stats favor X1...by more than twice as much in fact. Sales show more which marketing campaign was successful.

It's also clear when you look at the fact that it's really just Europe that is lopsided in PS4 vs X1 sales....it doesn't mean that PS4 is "better" in Europe and no where else. In Japan, PS4 sales are crushing X1...but they are still lower than ever...so sales don't dictate quality. It's very clear when you look at the bigger picture and supporting stats, that PS4's success is due to marketing and MS shooting themselves in the foot out of the gate...good news for gamers is since then MS has been making all the right moves

...but I do absolutely agree that saying which is "best" is subjective. I'm very glad I own them all, but from my experience and expectations of the future...my money says that X1 is by far the better rounded console....if you would have asked me in the PS2 Gen....PS2 was absolutely dominant despite being under-powered and I didn't think that Xbox would make it past their first gen and Halo would have been sold off....I'm glad now that didn't happen.

I strongly disagree. My fav game on the system is still Tomb Raider DE which says a lot about PS4's current library.

I don't get next gen Playstation fans feel that the Playstation 4's exclusives are so good. I was a massive Sony fan through the PS1, PS2, and PS3 eras, so why am I not impressed with Sony this time around?

I still like and play the same types of games, and I still play on my PS3, so why did I buy an Xbox One last November? I don't know, maybe it's because I don't have an interest or the desire to play tons of indie games. Having a Steam account also really nullifies the PS4's big push for delivering indie games, since most of the indie games on PS4 are available on Steam...and usually many months earlier.

But maybe it's also because Killzone: Shadow Fall didn't impress me, and I'm actually a big fan of the previous two games. Perhaps it was the lack of content in Infamous: Second Son, a series that I loved on the PS3. Why have Sony's first party games been nothing more than tech demos? Wasn't The Order 1886 essentially a tech demo?

Where's the Socom franchise and where's M.A.G.?...oh, that's right, Sony shut down Zipper Interactive. Where's the Resistance series, which I f*****g loved? Oh, that's right, Insomniac has a new relationship with EA and Microsoft. Where's the next Heavenly Sword game? Where is Siphon Filter at these days, and why have they not made a PS Vita game for this franchise at the very least? Where's Motorstorm? I loved Motorstorm and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.

Why was Driveclub so broken when it launched? Why did Driveclub lack so much content when it released, and how is it possible that an Indie developer can beat Driveclub in quality and content offerings with Project Cars, when Evolution Studios has Sony in their corner? Why does Project Cars have weather effects on day one, while Driveclub did not?

The PS4 got the marketing and their message spot on right out of the gates, along with the lower launch price and this is exactly why they are leading the pack.

I may buy a PS4 at some point if Uncharted 4 has the content and quality of the first two games in the series. I may also buy a PS4 if they make another Resistance game, Syphon Filter game, Motorstorm game, or even a good and proper Killzone game, but I won't just simply rush out if they announce these games.

I want to see that these games get released with a healthy amount of content, and that they get back to providing the quality that they did with their games on PS3. Regardless of what some people think, to date, Sony hasn't delivered that quality, and it's not just my opinion, go check out the meta scores of their first party games on PS4. The fanboyism has been utterly brutal and stupid this generation for reasons that I can't seem to figure out.

To me, the best console is determined by the quality of the games. It is hard to select a best console since every platform possess quality games.

Some are quicker at putting out quality than others. Nevertheless, they all have quality games.

Lol sorry as the multiplat games look terrible and run terrible on xbox it will continue to be the comsumers second choice and ps4 first. Sony isnt running out to do anything. They did all that from the start and thus becomes a chain reaction Of sales and popularity hell now even the psn is faster than xbox service now. To make it hurt more for you ps4 gets way more praises and humbs up from third to first and the industry itself Way more than that thing they call a box. at this point the box will continue to become non existant And the lower consumers choice.

This is an opinion. I own all the consoles and prefer my Xbox One. But really, it's all about PC gaming right now as far as I'm concerned.
