"Hot damn, the DualShock 4 is a great design, isn't it? It's probably my favorite Sony controller to date, and although the Wii U GamePad edges it out in terms of my most-liked control method of this generation, it's a great option. But if my stable of pads is anything to go by, man are they shoddily made."
The PS4's DualShock 4 controller now has two more buttons with the addition of the Back Button Attachment. The $30 accessory is the perfect complement to the original controller and adds two buttons. The design is a little bulky, but it's still a great accessory for the price.
This thing is getting stellar reviews. What would be it's best use (I am not a competative online gamer).
PS5 controllers will have this built in. It will allow ps4 controllers to have the same functionality and work with the PS5.
Pretty cool. I’ll probably pick up two.
Contrary to the article tho, the biggest advantages of the ms elite controller and the paddle buttons but the ability to control the expo curves of the sticks (response time) and store a second profile to a button position so you can be snappy for FPS games and slower for racing type games or whatever at the flick of a switch. You can also adjust the throw length of the triggers on the Elite. So doesn’t really put them on the same page but still - seems like a great ds4 add-on.
The word "great" was used twice in a single sentence. Was it too hard for the author to come up with another adjective? Okay, Gensie, this might help you out. http://adjectivesstarting.c...
The DualShock 4's new accessory works well, and hopefully sets the stage for things to come.
I really wish they released this sooner. Seems cool. But it's really late in the PS4's life
I don't see the point of this. Maybe it's useful for some people but for me, there is no point.
For those that were sure this would be a cheap feeling accessory just based on reading the press release, please feel free to repent below... 😉
If the PS5 pad only has 2 back buttons then I'm staying with third party again.
Looking to add an extra ps4 controller to your set up, eBay is blowing them out at just $40. And you even have a few color options to choose from too.
only had issues with thumbsticks and have gone through 5 pads worth in the time i had ps4(launch day)
1st set lasted 3 months
2nd set replaced by sony lasted 3 months
bought a 2nd pad and the sticks lasted 5 months on that
then in end i just bought some of ebay 10 thumbs(identical to sony offical)and they have lasted longer than sony ones.
although both pads need me to take them apart to swap over the left sticks on both of them.
apart from that i love the pads.
I love everything, except the battery life.
Nope, I have both the black that came with the console and the white that I bought when Destiny came out.
Aside from the white one being a little stiffer since it's much newer, they both play identically.
Battery life could be a bit better, but I always have my other one on charge as soon as I swap my controllers, so it isn't a big issue.
Thumbstick rubber wearing out is the ONLY issue I've had, and I've had my controller since launch day..
It is a great controller, it feels so much better then the DS3 that controller felt like it will brake in your hands, the only problem i have with it is the battery life.
