There are two things gamers keep talking about all the time: framerate and screen resolution. Apparently, if your game does not run at 60 FPS on the Xbox One and the PS4 today, your company deserves to burn in flames. And 4K gaming is all the rage... for PC owners.
How about 4K support on the Xbox One and the PS4?
"Hammerwatch II's journey to Xbox has been long and perilous. After first launching on Steam in the fall of 2023, the game finally turned up on PlayStation 5 last December. Since then, Xbox gamers who enjoyed the original Hammerwatch and the sublime Heroes of Hammerwatch have been anxiously awaiting their turn at the long-promised sequel. At last, the wait is nearly over because Hammerwatch II will hit Xbox and PlayStation 4 on April 23," says Co-Optimus.
Joe 'Three Sheets' Neate (Executive Producer): "As I’m sure you can imagine, when it comes to Sea of Thieves my days are full of numbers. Development costs, active servers, days until the next update… Sometimes, though, a truly extraordinary number stands out – a number like 40 million, which I’m incredibly pleased to say is the number of pirates who’ve now set sail in Sea of Thieves!"
Garrr... more people to walk the plank and send to Davey Jones locker.
would have been funny to release this on talk like a pirate day.
40 million have set sail...that's great. How many are sailing now? Monthly active users....when it actually matters. How many people purchased the game is another important number.
Devstream 178 was filled with so many cool announcements for the game's community, and were able to ask a lot of questions about Warframe: 1999 and more!
ya right!!! like resolution is everything to a game. last time i checked the some of the best games are exclusives to consoles, from halo, gears, forza, uncharted, blooborne, last of us, mario, zelda, and so on..... what makes gaming great is the games and not just higher resolution, or are you telling me, people will enjoy the witcher 3 more on pc at 4k then someone playing on a xbox one at 900p?
yeah pc is great
but im the kind of gamer that like to play game hassle free
What they don't tell you is that only 1% of PC owners are actually playing games in 4K. And those that are, spent a thousand dollars plus building their systems to do so. The difference? Visuals. The game we are playing on the consoles is the exact same game they're playing on their 4K PC, with better visuals. That's it.
In the end, it comes down to who's willing to spend the most money to play the exact same game.. In 4K.
4k is still in its infancy for both the PC and TV markets. Its been out years and I finally saw one installed in a house that I was working in. By the end of this cycle (at least 5 years away) 4k will be mainstream and we should hopefully see the next gen consoles support up to 4k60fps gaming.
Not until 4K becomes the norm in the living room or wherever the console is located. That won't happen anytime soon.
