Its OK to kill simulated minorities of whatever persuasion as long as they are not singled out.
If you shoot a crowd in a game there is no way of telling what religious persuasion, sexual orientation or nationality any of the individual characters. By singling out a particular minority you are channelling and focusing hatred at a particular faction which is both unhealthy and dangerous.

A similar reaction (if not stronger) could easily be obtained by games with titles such as;

Nig#*% Hunter.
Jew Massacre.
All White Christians must die.
American Servicemen Executions.

Don't try and pretend that it only applies when regarding sexuality.

Racism and ignorance runs rampant within video games, why is sexuality the only factor being criticised.

Like I said, the portrayal of differences in gaming must be on equal terms, so you either offend all forms of differences whether it be sexuality, religion or race (the latter two which is somehow acceptable and exempt from criticism), or none of it.

You have freedom of speech and freedom of expression. However, this does not grant you license to say or do whatever the hell you want without consequence. All it means is that the state cannot arrest or censor you if you from making political and religious statements. But only so long as what you're saying isn't hate speech, incitement, libel, slander, oppressive, threat to public security and the list goes on. You cannot do or say whatever you want. That's not what freedom of speech or expression mean at all.

This could very well qualify as hate speech. Its also slanderous in using the term f****t, and oppressive. It could also be used to incite hatred and violence towards homosexuals. As well as this, imagine the reaction if this game was called "Kill the N****r". Do you think there'd be nearly the outcry in defense of this " artist?"

I'm sorry but as an Iraqi living through 00-2010 in a westernized country, was horrible, i was accused of being same people l fled my home for, everything in the media was against us, we were called slurs that didn't even make sense, there were games left and right about shooting both terrorists and civilians and guess what? No penalty existed in these games either, l'd even go out and say these games are based on true stories...for 10 years this craze hate went on..

before l go into a full rant let me summarize my thoughts. Becoming acknowledged into any society, whatever you are, demands that society do two negative things before it accepts you.
1. degrade everything you are in slurs and bringing up bias opinions in the media.
2. Mock the living daylights out of you. You can't cry about wanting to be acknowledged by everyone then cry when someone pulls your leg.

I don't think anything has escaped this almost ingrained part of human acceptance ridicule ritual so please hang in there, You'll pull through, keep doing what you do, make it so they have to accept you.

tl;dr the game is bad but it's not actually aimed at the demographic inside, it's aimed at the audience in a satire that mocks how quick to be offended a majority of people have become

Games shouldn't stagnate, indeed! However games are made by people and people can make a game about anything. Even their own opinion. Why do Christians feel obligated to throw the bible at everyone assuming that everyone either should read the bible or have read the bible? Regurgitating the bible and quoting the bible to people who non believers is pointless and it does not mean anything to them. Christians tend to use that method when debating religion to non believers.
Regardless of how a person choose to live their lives even if it's against the bible. Its their decisions and no one else. It does not affect christians in any way or form. Why is it that christians feel obligated to "save" said person?

I'm not Christian, but most of Christianity is taught to show love and compassion to all others, even if they act in a way that is morally incorrect. Catholicism forbids the mistreatment of homesexuals for example, but you will have crazy extremists in any group.

But, what he must learn, is that freedom of speech does NOT come with freedom of consequence. (not condoning the threats that he received, but understanding that they were bound to come.) I am Christian myself and don't approve of the themes in BoI but I approve of its freedom to be made. I am offended by it but it is a free country. Point is, all games have a free right to exist. Steam can do what it likes, however. My only point is there is a lot of hypocrisy. Only certain groups are protected while others are subject to ridicule.

Ever wonder why Christianity is mocked in TV like Family Guy, or games likes Binding of Isaac but not Islam? Because there's a political correctness shield protecting that group, despite the fact that Islamic terror is greater than all other religions combined. There is no question this is deplorable content. That much I think most of us can agree on.

This guy is well within his rights to make the game. Steam is well within its rights to remove the content, and we are well within our rights to criticize.

Now for the "Christian" spin. As OP has claimed, this person is a failed Christian shoe promoter (whatever that means), but the developer has not stated that his Christian beliefs are the motivation for this game. The developer just said that he wanted to piss people off.

Without a little more evidence, I'm not convinced of the connection.
