"As you can see from the image below (pointed out by bravoIntel), the trailer that was posted at Major Nelson a.k.a. Larry Hryb has the Sony branding. But if you look at post now, it has been replaced. It could have been a mistake, but who knows."

Thats what i meant by funny.

holysmokesbatman3293d ago

I noticed that too on the xbox youtube channel, must have been a mistake, although I didn't really think it was funny, perhaps a little silly...

Eonjay3293d ago

Honest mistake and nowhere near as bad as the photo shopped Watch Dogs trailer where the PlayStation buttons were blurred out.

subtenko3293d ago

Microsoft the one guy that never gets the invite...

Sony has exclusive marketing for this title, don't expect to see much tied to Xbox One in terms of advertising. They will pushing Halo 5, very hard.

SWBF along with Black Ops 3 and an unannounced PS4 exclusive is going to be huge for PS4 this holiday season.

KarmaV123293d ago

Black Ops 3?? What are you talking about?

Transistor3293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

PS4 has advertising rights for Black Ops 3. Commercials, bundles, etc.

Sevir3293d ago

I'm not so sure about black ops 3... Sony has never particularly been able to land partnerships with Activision for COD. And I don't see that changing.

quenomamen3293d ago

If I was Sony I'd let COD warm the bench this go round. Actually I'd let MS have it back. Game's more stale than a six month old fart.

I think you're mistaken about the BO3

Transistor3293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

Third parties in general aren't as eager to work with Microsoft as they once were. This goes for exclusives and marketing.

Jalva3293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

All Microsoft has to say is "Play it first on Xbox One" since Sony idiotically refused to have EA Access on the PS4, now that they have nothing to release in the holiday season they're latching onto EA to carry them through it, and anything Sony announces at E3 won't be out for at least another year, it's always been that way, you can disagree all you want N4G but this is exactly what's happening, I wouldn't expect people to agree with what I said on a site as biased as this one anyway, doesn't make my comment any less valid though.

donthate3293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

Technically, the marketing budget for Bloodborne and The Order was just pushed from the holidays to this Spring as the games were delayed into this year.

The next Uncharted also got pushed until next year, so that leaves MGS and Battlefront. Ironically, you can play Battlefront first on Xbox One.

I think MS strategically figured they can allocate that money other places, and Sony thought it was worth it. They are probably all right, and what does it matter anyways for readers here whom the vast majority already have the console of their preference.

This is just childish bickering.

ocelot073293d ago

@Jalva you have a point. But it is not like Sony cant change there mind about EA access. Or if it is anything like Battlefield Hardline at last E3. PS4 and PC players where able to try the Alpha while the XB1 could not. Similer thing could happen and PS4 players could get into the Battlefront Alpha while XB1 owners can't.

Genuine-User3293d ago

@Jalva

Clutching at them mighty straws again are we.

a few things to note:

-Microsoft can't legally make a statement of service on behalf of EA
-Sony does not require EA advertising partnership to sell more Units than an Xbox one
-Sony has exclusive games planned for holiday 2015

You're wrong about everything. I don't know whether to take you seriously or laugh at you.

MrBeatdown3293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

@Jalva

"anything Sony announces at E3 won't be out for at least another year, it's always been that way"

Is that so?

Bloodborne, released nine months after being announced at E3.

LittleBigPlanet 3, released five months after being announced at E3.

Never mind other games like Gran Turismo 6 that were announced with well under a year to go before release.

Facts can be such a pain in the ass.

pivotplease3292d ago

Personally expecting a proper Ratchet reveal and release this year so that will be great news. Definitely interested to see if something else comes up from Guerilla or Santa Monica though. Also, everyone should buy Persona 5. That series deserves success more than any of the shooters we've already played in a new skin.

NuggetsOfGod3292d ago (Edited 3292d ago )

The fact that a mutiplat game sells more on one console vs the other because of marketing shows how lame and unaware console gamers are lol

Even though we have internet.

Anything usually supported by the masses is usually lame anyway.

hardly, considering ms has the marketing deal for witcher 3 and a month from release , were yet to see a single ps4 screenshot
its all fair, shitty , but fair.

im still surprised ms let sony bag the marketing for fall's biggest multiplats twice in a row now. especially since its EA this time. sony didnt even take their ea access service
didnt ea give 3 free games on playstation as well for no apparent reason? also isnt tf2 multiplat now?
wonder what happened

tinynuggins3293d ago

It's pretty simple really. Sony offered a better deal for the marketing rights or MS didn't throw their hat in the ring. Not much more than that. MS has a full plate this holiday and has a marketing budget each quarter. Buying the rights for battlefront would have meant less money for halo, tomb raider and forza.

BattleAxe3293d ago

It probably also has to do with the fact that Microsoft's flagship game (Halo 5) is releasing this fall, and they're probably already planning to spend a tonne of money promoting that title. I'm sure that if they didn't have Halo 5 coming out in the fall, then they would have fought for marketing rights.

chrismichaels043293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

@tinynuggins - MS may have a "full plate" this holiday season with Halo, Tomb Raider and Forza...but lets be honest. The only other AAA retail game I think they have to market this entire year is Witcher 3. Marketing budget is not a factor.

As of right now, Sony will be marketing Bloodborne, The Order 1886, MLB15 The Show, Batman Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V and now even Star Wars Battlefront. Sonys plate has been just as full as MS, but that didnt stop them from going out and getting another marketing deal.

spacedelete3293d ago

PS4 sold 20 million consoles. thats what happened.

Chevalier3293d ago

It was probably a mistake, but a small chuckle nonetheless lol

It's not that big of a deal really. My brother said he didn't even notice the Playstation logo sequence at the end since he left the video page before that. I'm sure that was probably the case for whoever updated the site with the video.

i wonder if Microsoft have had a bit of a falling out with EA/DICE? might explain all the schlong riding EA is doing with sony lately, oh well, maybe sony fanboys will suddenly like EA again now lol

Brotard3293d ago

Its because of where sony is deciding to allocate their marketing money i believe. They are spending it better, like with destiny, and battlefront i believe they know which games are going to be the biggest and save to back those.

marlinfan103293d ago

I think it's just more to do with sony offering more for the exclusive rights. MS has 4 big exclusives coming during the holidays which all will require large amounts of money towards advertisements

chrismichaels043293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

@marlinfan -

Xbox is marketing:
- Halo 5
- Tomb Raider
- Forza
- Witcher 3

PS4 is marketing:
- Bloodborne
- The Order 1886
- MLB15 The Show
- Batman Arkham Knight
- Metal Gear Solid V
- Star Wars Battlefront

Advertisement budgeting is a part of the gaming industry so thats really no excuse.

marlinfan103293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

Not a single one of those aside from MGS are remotely close to the same time frame as star wars though. while 3 of those xbox games, and a unannounced rare game, will all be right around the same time of SW release. Plus bo3 which will inevitably be promoted by xbox. Sony had a lot more incentive to throw more money at ea/star wars than MS did.

You can also throw the division in there that's releasing late this year which xbox will be marketing.

So basically holidays from either console

Xbox-
Halo (exclusive)
Rare title (exclusive)
Forza (exclusive)
Tomb raider (exclusive)
Division (marketing exclusive)
Black ops (marketing exlcusive)

Ps-
MGS (marketing exclusive)
Star wars (marketing exclusive)

Which would you say had a much larger need to secure the marketing of star wars? I think the answer is pretty obvious.

chrismichaels043293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

Sony had to market Bloodborne, The Order 1886 and MLB15 The Show all in the same time frame. And they still went out and secured marketing rights for Batman Arkham Knight, Metal Gear Solid V and now Star Wars Battlefront. So that excuse is not valid.

The difference with MS is that although they have Halo, Tomb Raider and Forza to market...the point is they havent really needed to market too many games through the first 10 months of the year. So their marketing budgets for October and November arent as stretched thin for MS.

If it feels like MS is handcuffing themselves with how many games they can market over the holidays, its their own fault for focusing all of their games into the same 2 month time period rather than spreading out their lineup throughout the entire year.

DDOS-DelDaemonicOSes3293d ago

@early year release schedule spin, being that The Order was a delayed 2014 title and MLB's release is due to season timing plus many people could care less about baseball, I really don't think Microsoft's early year lineup is bad AT ALL (Ori, free Forza standalone DLC, State Of Decay, Neverwinter, possibly SMITE soon, multiplat Dark Souls II at 91 on Metacritic in the same time frame as Bloodborne's release, etc.), especially since the holidays are definitely much more important.

Sony fans keep spinning, such as AA batteries are obsolete (rather than forcing a WIRED controller over 50% of the time from lacking replaceable batteries) and now Battlefront is a major win for Sony as if anyone that really cares about playing that game isn't going to know it is on XO. So Sony will get a few more sales from parents who have children that want "Star Wars game dada" while being too young to know how much better Microsoft's holiday lineup is for the third year running.

chrismichaels043293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

@DDOS - What does it matter if The Order 1886 was delayed a few months? Sony still had to market the game. And how is that any different then when MS delayed Ryse from being a 360 Kinect game and pushed it back to become an Xone launch game?

You say many people "dont care about baseball"? Speak for yourself on that one bud. Again, it doesnt change the fact Sony has to market the game. I love how anti-Sony fans pick and choose what games "counts".

Youre counting Ori but dismissing all of the quality indie games PS4 has scheduled for release this upcoming holiday season. Also, you do realize Dark Souls 2 is also available on PS4 right?

Xbox can keep "winning" November in the U.S. every year. Doesnt make a difference when PS4 is winning the other 11 months worldwide.

rainslacker3293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

@Chris

MS has been marketing Halo, ROTTR, and Forza heavily since the beginning of the year. I can't go a day without seeing that same commercial on TV....the 2nd one made actually since last holiday.

Don't remember all the games they showed in it, but I remember several of them weren't releasing until the end of the year.

@DDOS

Sony and MS's marketing is practically identical to last years up until this point. MS is already marketing their big holiday games, yet it isn't doing much for sales.

Given that this holiday's marketing is probably going to mirror last years with only the games changed(except in MS case where they'll be marketing most of the same games again), why would you assume that the results of said marketing would be any different than last year?

rainslacker3293d ago

EA will go where the money leads them. Even outside of marketing deals, EA is going to sell more software on the PS4 this gen. They know it, Sony and MS know it, non fanboy gamers know it. EA is all about their interests, and at times, those interests happen to coincide with one console or another.

Chrisgamerguy3293d ago

EA must feel like this game caters more to the ps4 audience

wakeNbake3293d ago

Well Battlefield has always had a more vibrant community on Playstation anyways so it makes sense.

hello123293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

Wakenbake. Playstation has never had competitive tournaments worth a damn ever vibrant ok whatever. Explain why Mortal Kombat competitions take place on x box 1 and not PS4 then? The Playstation network is for casual gamers and always has been.

Whats so vibrant about it?
Battlefield 4 Twitch TV all x box 1 http://www.twitch.tv/direct...

In regards to this Sony paid for marketing rights and they got a trailer simple as that nothing special about it. Playstation gamers should be more worried about Sony else has for the holidays then this a game already coming to x box 1.

Emrage3293d ago

@KNWS

I have no idea why the competition is on xbox 1 but here:

supraking9513293d ago

lol KNWS competitive tournaments and Twitch is a small percentage of gamers. Twitch has more people streaming on ps4 though especially when it comes to exclusives. Twitch streamers practically ignored every Xbox One exclusive lol

InTheLab3293d ago

Wasn't there a game like this on the original Xbox? Sony probably swooped in and paid them off. That or why would you cater to the largest console base.

Mkai283293d ago

Well look at the install base, it's not surprising. Their prime target is going to be PS4 owners. If Xbox had more installs, then they would do the same for them.

spicelicka3293d ago

No Lol wtf. Sony most likely made a deal with them to have some exclusive rights, considering uncharted 4 got delayed to next year, they need something for the holidays.

Bigpappy3293d ago (Edited 3293d ago )

you make it sound like its EA paying Sony to advertise the game as PS4.

Does it also mean that Capcom thinks Tomb Raider caters more to X1 gamers and The Witcher caters more to X1 games?

All it means is EA gets their game advertised, maybe even more than they would have done on their own, and have Sony pay the bill. As a result Gullible people like yourself thinks its because EA loves PS4 gamer above all else, LOL. Totally delusional.

deadpoolio3163293d ago

Tomb Raider is Square not Capcom....Its also a TIMED Xbox One exclusive, that was already confirmed....And YES EA clearly loves the PS platform more considering there are TWICE the number on users on PS consoles, last I checked 20mil>10mil...

And NO its not going to be on Xbox first so I don't know why people keep saying play it first on Xbox through Access since there have literally been ZERO titles released early with Access...

IVanSpinal3293d ago

Nope, the reason BF3 was more played on PS3 is because it was part of PS Plus free games & Free Online on PS3, plus, Playstation is not known to have great multiplayer games besides multiplataform MP games, they are always shutting down online servers for their first party games

ocelot073293d ago

@IVanSpinal if that is the case why is there more PS4 players playing BF4 on both PS3 and PS4. Considering BF4 is one of the games available via EA access on Xbox?

Legion213293d ago

Or Sony offered more money...

ghostface93293d ago

no its the only holiday shooter they can throw money at. x1 has halo 5 and the rights to call of duty so there is no other big shooter to throw marketing at.

I hope not. I can see them being a type of levelution which would piss me off. They should be controllable

Farmassy3293d ago

I completely agree with you. Everyone hear is arguing about marketing rights for some reason and no one is paying attention to the actual game.

What is the point of these vehicles if you can't actually drive them? I am excited for this game but it seems like they may be making some choices that I don't agree with

knickstr3293d ago

First off, its an insider that's giving the information. One that hasn't been the most reliable.

Second, Dice is usually really good at implementing vehicles. I bet they have something good planned. At least I'll wait and see from dice before taking any word from an insider. Hopefully we'll be able to see more of it soon.

Farmassy3293d ago

@knickstr

you make some good points. I am excited enough for the game that I am definitely not going to judge it yet. Can't wait to see some gameplay and to play it myself of course

deadpoolio3163293d ago

Because it keeps skill less dingleberries from trying to spend an entire match inside an At-At and forces them to either not play or get good...There is ZERO reason why any player needs to walk around in a giant tank

I thought that was kind of obvious they were incorporating mods to piece this game together. Maybe not, but that's made me worried about one thing:

They also planned on adding the modded ending to KOTOR 2 but were legally blocked from doing so, even after they advertised that to help sell preorders for the game on Switch. Could the same happen with this? Any opponents have 3 weeks to bring down the hammer.
