When I read that I know that was bs cause bf is play more on ps then xbox

Docknoss3306d ago

I'm a huge BF guy and I play on Xbox One but After playing the Trial I absolutely hated it. So I'm not contributing to the xbox BF community

Cindy-rella3306d ago

Well multiplatform games are superior on the ps4 so its not hard to see ps4 having higher sales in majority of multiplatform games. For the people who lacks any interest in the pc, ps4 is just the best option for gaming and playing the best multiplatform games.

Farmassy3306d ago

@Docknoss

I am in the same boat as you. I am not gonna buy a game simply because it is in a franchise that I enjoy. The beta was very derivative of battlefield 4. I refuse to give them money for putting a new skin on an old game

WellyUK3306d ago

@Farmassy and @Docknoss

Yet you probably both brought BF4...

a re-skin of BF3 but worse.

Rachel_Alucard3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

@Welly

To be fair I don't think anyone expected EA to want to change anything major from 3 to 4 after the success and the 2 year development time. At least BF4 ran at 60 FPS and supported 64 player lobbies on console.

Farmassy3306d ago

@welly

yes I bought battlefield 4. I had sold my 360 when I bought my X1 and didn't have battlefield 3 anymore. It would have been a great purchase, had the game actually worked at launch. I still enjoyed the game a lot and am happy that I purchased it.

Also, even if buying battlefield 4 was a bad idea (hypothetically), that doesn't make buying hardline any better.

bouzebbal3305d ago

lol i was about to post the same link :)
but hey, these same specimens will turn that out as a proof of "early lead isn't what it's about"
#twoface

SolidStoner3305d ago

Battlefield 4 Premium edition blu-ray is by far the best shooter you can get... about 30 large scale maps with vehicles, 10 times more guns then in Hardline and it looks and feels even better then hardline, after all those updates...

Dir_en_grey3305d ago

PS4 Hardline players also 4 times more than the PC players.

http://ps4daily.com/wp-cont...

Gamer19823305d ago (Edited 3305d ago )

Well I enjoyed it for a while but switched back to BF4. Hardline just doesnt have anywhere near the content got sick of the same 6 maps with the same 4 weapons per class (with a 5th you can unlock with gold battlepacks).. Got real boring real fast. On PS4 BTW.

Kleptic3305d ago (Edited 3305d ago )

Welly, BF4 was in no way a re-skin of BF3...not even close...

I'm not saying it was a fantastic game, but it did add all kinds of features, mechanics, larger maps, etc...over BF3...it was most definitely a sequel in all ways, including an untested and ridiculously buggy engine...

HL is a mod...period...features were reduced or removed across the entire board...destruction; nearly gone...vehicles; nearly gone...map size; considerably reduced...visuals; considerably reduced (with Visceral 100% confirming that, and it was to improve performance on 'specific platforms')...weapon list; about 1/4 of BF4...simplified attachments, rearranging of certain weapon classes, and increasing the amount of 'pick up' weapons...is all they really did...

HL lifts the identical engine, adds literally nothing, and re-colored the UI...

HL is basically BF3's close quarters...with more of a push on a theme, a few extra maps, and a 5 hour single player campaign...If expansions for Bf3 and Bf4 cost $15 ala carte...then HL should've been priced at about $20 to $25...anything more than that is blatant cash grabbing only from brand recognition...

and EA put it up as a 'full game'...at $60 + another premium service haha...

the franchise, as some of us know it, is on its last legs...i promise...

and Dir_en_grey...yeah, its 2015's Titanfall on PC...there are more PC players on Bf3 than on Hardline (actually, other than the PS4, that is the case for nearly all platforms)...It'll be a ghost town by summer on everything but the new consoles...

I was waiting for someone to pull up that article.

Now I see why people speak so poorly of hardcoregamer.com. I used to give them the benefit of the doubt. But after a number of their pieces I've read myself, it's sort of hard to defend them.

Gazondaily3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

Aaah yes. Someone on there was silly enough to suggest that it was because the X1 is a brodude console or has no games. But they'll be quick not to apply that here ;)

But 4x the X1? EA must be scratching their heads about their agreement with MS if true.

Mind you, they get the best of both worlds. Monetary compensation from MS due to the deal and stronger Sony sales.

Hold up, what's this then?

http://bfhstats.com

Courtesy of the chap below?

lodossrage3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

According to the article, the numbers are compiled over the last week, not just "right now" numbers as the link you and the person below are using.

Here is the quote even:

"According to Battlefield Hardline game statistics (as tracked by the P-Stats network), the PS4 version had over 4X as man active players than the Xbox One over the past week."

Now how they got the numbers of a full week is beyond me.

Majin-vegeta3306d ago

@Loss Those sites track the highest amount of players every 24 hours.Maybe they took all 7 days and added them up.Thats the only logical thing i can come up with.

Dinkis3306d ago

I'm waiting for hardline when its on EA access and so are a lot of my friends.

hkgamer3306d ago

if you remember last e3(?) they revealed this game and then put the beta on ps4.

this could have impacted the ps4 sales a lot. or it could just be ps4 is selling more games.

slasaru013305d ago

Which agreement? Which Sony rejected?
So why EA has to scratch their head?
I personally just boycott BF, it is crap quality. Let them play themselves. I bought next gen not for 720p and i'm having full hd/60fps in Halo, Borderlands, Forza, just 1080p in Forza Horizon, Tomb Raider.
I agree even to 900p if it looks like Ryse or Sunset Overdrive.

But not this crap a year after the console is out

after firing up BF:BC2 no other BF game is enjoyable. and this is coming from a BF veteran. DICE really fucked up what BF is

PRock103306d ago

Agree. BF:BC2 is by far the best game in the series for me.

Vigant3306d ago

This!!! I wish they would just make a bad company 3 already. I mean dice already knows that the community wants it so idk why they won't continue with the bad company series..

Concertoine3306d ago

Back then we got the DLC for free so long as we bought the game new. The whole multiplayer unlock code was better in every way to the crap that is battlefield premium.

BattleAxe3306d ago

I've been back playing BC2 on PC lately, and it's still a blast. What would be nice is if we could finally get BC3 and also get BC1 re-released on next gen consoles and PC, even if it's just the single player campaign, that would be awesome.

Gamer19823305d ago

Its crazy COD fans want the devs to go back in time and so do BF fans I agree aswell Bad Company was the best in the series at least for consoles anyway. Plus Teh expansion (not season pass) was a real expansion. Back when BC2 launched Hardline would have been an expansion for BF4 not its own game with the amount of content it has. It has around the same as vietnam.

Clunkyd3305d ago

So much for those 100 Million active PC gamers.

Or maybe they just wait for the sales because they know they would be stuck with that game. Digital sucks.

Kleptic3305d ago

Not defending PC owners...but, what are you saying exactly?

you're making fun of PC players...for having standards?...the game was unanimously described as mediocre...its the worst critically received BF in franchise history...even at a time when the industry is pumping nothing but average crap out...

yeah, PS4 and XBO owners flocked to it...but what other multiplayer shooter is available right now to even compete with it?

HL very obviously should've been a PS4 and XBO only title..those are the only platforms that remotely care about it...

solar3305d ago

you cant feed crap to PC gamers and expect them to play it. it has been that way since the mid 90's.

jc123306d ago

too bad hardline has little reason at all to exist. BF4 is far and away better.

Azzanation3306d ago

When it comes to FPS, Xbox community knows what to play. Hardline is a bad game considering that X1 has greats like MCC and Titanfall plus all the other shooters PS4 has, its no surprise X1 community stopped playing Hardline where as PS4 users really have no choice unless there still playing Killzone SF.

Grievous3305d ago

Titanfall dead. MCC doesn't work properly.

UKmilitia3306d ago

immediatly came to mind pal.

WMANUW3305d ago

It is a clear strategy microsoft lying. Microsoft has always said that ps4 console sells more but ms sells more software, but it is absolutely no true. PS4 sells more software, there is not one game that has sold more on xbox one, no one.Example: the game sold more on Xone is cod. Cod Advance has sold 6.5 M copies on ps4, and 4.3m copies on Xbox one. PS4 sells more software, (of all Platforms) is all the games. Microsoft is a liar

andibandit3305d ago

I think they mean software attachment ratio, meaning software sold relative to consoles sold.
It's the age old spinning statistics in your favor... But I would hardly label it lying.

WMANUW3305d ago (Edited 3305d ago )

@andibandit http://www.techtimes.com/ar...

Where do you see written ratio? You're making this up, it says your mind. (You think ,right)

Gazondaily3306d ago

Isn't the case the same for COD too?

Gazondaily3306d ago

Yeah but I'm talking about the present.

WeAreLegion3306d ago

Presently, the PS4 sales for COD are significantly higher than the XBO sales. So, you are correct. Both series' are doing better on PS4.

Bathyj3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

Xbox owners are always trying to perpetuate the myth that Xbox is the preferred console for shooters. They act like CoD is an exclusive or something because of the timed DLC deals they get.

The current reality is these games sell more on PS4. PS4 is just the preferred console for ALL games it seems.

Also factor into this if this was conducted in the last week, many people are playing Bloodborne at the moment. Without that I'm sure active users would be even higher while I don't even know the last big retail release on Xbox that would divert sales.

Times have changed. In fact according to this article there's more people playing battlefield right now on PS3 than on Xbox one.

But I thought the only games xbox players play are fps games? Battlefield is a great game though.

Foehammer3306d ago

Not really surprising

When one platform has few FPS ppl will gravitate to a game like BFH with its metacritic score of 74.

On X1 ppl are playing TMCC, 85, and TF, 86.

lodossrage3306d ago

@Foehammer-

Oh come on man, TF's metacritic score hasn't kept it from becoming a ghost town has it? So how figure they're playing it based off a metacritic score is outlandish.

chrismichaels043306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

@Foehammer - Im sure PS4 gamers dont mind Battlefield Hardlines Metacritic score of 74 when they have other Metacritic masterpieces like The Last of Us Remastered (95) and Bloodborne (93) to also enjoy.

Rimeskeem3306d ago

The only game i have on Xbox one is TMCC and when I play online it can still take me 5-10 min to find a match. Titanfall was PC for me and has become a mere ghost town. Was fun for a week then was repetitive and got boring fast.

KilKarazy3306d ago

@rimeskeem Clearly you don't have MCC it takes about 30 seconds to find a match.

KilKarazy3306d ago

@chrismichaels hes saying fps games, bloodborne is not a game the majority of fps players will like

chrismichaels043306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

@kilkrazy - The point is the original comment made no sense. PS4 gamers have tons of FPS games to choose from like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Wolfenstein, Killzone etc... Xbox only has 2 shooters PS4 doesnt (and one of them can be played on PC like many people that dont own an Xone did). Lets not act like xbox is cornering the market on shooters.

Also, if hes going to base his assumptions of what PS4 gamers like based on quality of reviews, then the truth is PS4 has other better quality games to choose from.

Spotie3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

Well, if you generalize and grossly misrepresent the argument, sure.

The claim was the 360 was the shooter console, and most 360 owners preferred shooters. All (or very nearly all) the top games were shooters, they all sold better on 360 than elsewhere, and there weren't nearly as many non-shooter exclusives on the 360 that did well.

This does nothing to change that. It DOES directly contradict this article http://n4g.com/news/1692716... and that's probably the point. Or one of the points, anyway.

Edit: C'mon, Foehammer. You used their metacritic averages, rather than any sort of measure of how many people are still playing. And that's just ONE more fps than on PS4.

Lennoxb633306d ago

That's because Xbox gamers are still on BF4.

Moldiver3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

Man...You know whats crazy to think about, looking at those numbers? Halo 3 and Reach ...and halo 4..and gears..all had more active players during their peak 360 years than all BF:hardline players on all formats combined.

It just goes to show how difficult it is, to make a game thats good enough to hold players over a long period of time.

sinspirit3306d ago

@Moldiver

It's because of how many developers release yearly games changing very little. It's making it hard for anyone to keep the same genre exciting. Not just that but because of disappointing sequels trying to be too much like other games. My view on that situation though.

LonDonE3306d ago

Agreed i own BF4 on PS4 and also on X1 due to ea access and trust me whenever i play on x1 regardless of time of day i always find substantially less players and active servers and some of the game types are ghost towns! where as on PS4 there are LOADS of players and servers for most of the game types!

Its crazy how much the PS4 is destroying the x1 is so many ways.

RobLoPR3306d ago

I downloaded BF Hardline and played the trial via EA Access and i gotta say... it plays really smooth. The action is very fast paced. Story mode (what I could play since its a "Demo") is pretty good. But not what I would spend my money on. Thanks to EA Access I was able to save that $52. Im back to BF4. Maybe Ill get it when it when the price drops.

RobLoPR3306d ago

@LonDonE Its crazy how much the PS4 is destroying the x1 is so many ways.

dont you think destroying is a big word?

LonDonE3306d ago (Edited 3306d ago )

@RobLoPR
"dont you think destroying is a big word? "

NO not for me it isn't, i own all platforms see my avatar pic and comment history and trust me it literally is DESTROYING it in all aspects!!!
Its the facts mate, I LOVE all 3 current gen consoles and i am actually rooting for the X1 but facts are facts.

And for all the single console fan-boys deal with it! seriously anyone who owns all platforms like me can pick any day like a Friday at peak time go into the server browser and count how many active servers there is with players in them for both platforms and i can guarantee PS4 will have more.

Now obviously since PS4 has a bigger install base its a given but regardless its by a huge margin and unexpected.
Near enough every third party game has sold more on PS4 and by big margins compared to on X1, which is the opposite compared to on last gen i think.

coreyweb3305d ago

I won't touch BF4 with a 10 foot pole. The game burned me so hard after loving BF3 and the Bad Companies. Maybe I'll try putting it in again and playing it. But even a few months ago it was still terrible for me.

Hardline is proving to be more like the old games, and playable, and consistent, and way better than BF4....it's actually fun.

Definitely a big price to pay for a corrected/working version of BF4 though. But whatever....

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

-Foxtrot757d ago

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw250756d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface755d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop756d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno756d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel757d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps756d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge102888756d ago (Edited 756d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k33756d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge102888756d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH756d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

Ranking All The Battlefield Games

From Xfire: "With the next game being a return to the classic XX42 formula, now is as good a time as any to make an utterly definitive and in no possible way controversial ranking of the Battlefield games we've enjoyed over the years, with which undoubtedly nobody will take issue in the comment section. Right? Okay then - here we go, from least good to best."

OMNlPOTENT1027d ago

Battlefield 1 above 4 and Bad Company 2? Not a chance.

Ruegrong1027d ago

battlefield 4 was broken as shit on launch same as battlefield 3

isarai1027d ago

Bad company 2 was still my favorite, sure it was a bit gimped compared to the rest if the series but more fun and far more satisfying weapon unlocks.

XxINFERNUSxX1027d ago (Edited 1027d ago )

Battlefield 1942 + both expansions are my all time favorite, it can still be played online to this day. Vietnam would be my 2nd, 3rd Battlefield 2, last BF2142 the rest I didn't care for. They really need to remake from the ground up in the new engine BF1942. Next year it will be 20 yrs since it was released. If they don't at least to me would be a disservice. ☹

The Life & Death of the Season Pass

In a time not too long ago, a foul infection spread its way through the games industry. It was a vile illness that burrowed itself in deep, feeding off of greed and the incessant begging of teens desperate to receive funds from their parents. It divided friend groups, suffocated player bases, and was common practice up until recently—it was the season pass.

IanTH1256d ago (Edited 1256d ago )

This doesn't make a ton of sense. Season Passes may slowly fade out for multiplayer games, perhaps, but I don't see them going anywhere in games that are primarily single player. They don't seem to touch on this either, with every game being some kind of online/multiplayer/GaaS title, and nary a mention of a single player game - at least that I saw.

I mean, games like Borderlands 3 just asked people to buy in to the 2nd season pass. Battle passes can't really take over in places that have story driven content and such. So I'd say perhaps they missed a bit of a necessary distinction but, since they claim the death of season pass is at hand, it appears they may have missed how single player games factor into this entirely.
