actually they've had a page for years. Not in great detail like it is now but there was a page in the knowledge center showing whether or not PSN was Online or Offline.

I do have a customized PC, but I do not use it. I spend most of my time sitting a desk on a computer. The last thing I want to do is to stay sitting on my computer after spending all day on one. I on a rare on occasion do use my PC to play sometime.

OR maybe Sony really just don't give a sh*t about their consumers as demonstrated on many separate occasions, for them to even threaten to ban this guy's account if he raises a dispute with the bank just goes to show how much they really care about us.

It really isn't that hard a concept to grasp, a corporation that prioritizes money over their consumer's happiness in their services isn't exactly unheard of...

Have you ever actually rang Sony customer support? You'd have better luck asking a wall to fix your problems.

I'm going to sound like a sympathizer, but I'll say it anyway: you're generalizing about Sony and their policies and customer service. Sony Corp actually has some decent (compared to competitors) policies and warranty coverage for consumer electronics. When you're talking about Sony Computer Entertainment, then good luck. lol, you obviously haven't read the update to that article or have a clear understanding. Sony said do not escalate the problem with your bank. Why? BC they had to conduct an investigation on their end to find out if it is A.) Theft or B.) Fraud

After they tracked the IP to Europe and continued their investigation a refund was issued. From a company's perspective, until a thorough investigation has proven it was indeed fraud, it is speculation that the consumer was just scamming. Which happens a lot to any console. Especially when you can share licenses. Now as to why the guy got his account stolen? All you have to do is go to a third party site and login with the same email and pass as your psn credentials. Once they've captured that, it is easy to charge things to your card. Basically, don't be stupid and use the same email/pass for things that have your credit card info on them. Common sense.

Why you even care? from the sounds of it, it doesnt seem like you own any Sony products let alone own a playstation.
You take one incident and generalize it to the rest of Sony corp. Sony might not be the angelic multi million corporation but what corporation are not into making money?
