Xbox One Version of Battlefield Hardline Blowing Out PS4 Popularity in Early Hours

Although Battlefield Hardline was released just hours ago, that's not stopping nearly seventy thousand people from already playing the game. Most surprisingly, however, is how big of an early lead the Xbox One version of the game has over the PS4 version in early hours.

Hasn't it already been out on xbox though? With ea access or am i imagining that?

joab7773327d ago (Edited 3327d ago )

That doesn't count. Stop using logic.

Not an article about the game, just clickbait.

kaizokuspy3327d ago

TBH, they have an early lead because of EA access and that it is a Tuesday AM right now, which can easily translate into a lot of kids play xbox and alot of parents/adults dont play at midnight because its a work day/night. Most important to note is that it hasn't released anywhere except NA. Other countries will get it from the 18th-20th. So its really not surprising and this article definitely is click bait.

mikeslemonade3327d ago (Edited 3327d ago )

Doesn't matter, PS4 still sold more. Look at Amazon!

PS4 gamers are playing the FFV demo because they have better taste in games.

fr0sty3327d ago

Wow. Talk about desperate.

And people like me are waiting for bloodborne..

Hmmm BF or bloodborne? ....duh no contest what game id rather spend my 50pounds on

"Xbox One Version of Battlefield Hardline Blowing Out PS4 Popularity in Early Hours."

I don't think this USA-focused opinion is aware that the game hasn't been released in the UK, or in Europe, or Africa, or Asia or the Middle East.

@Ballsack
Going by what you said.
If someone corrects someone that is trolling, it's called stealth trolling.

There are good games on the bone. Doesn't have to stealth trolling when people say it.

"I didn't know Ori was X1 exclusive"

Did I say it was exclusive? Is Battlefield Hardline exclusive? You said X1 owners need something to play. Isn't Ori something to play? Some logic you have there. ;)

What have you been playing?

@mikeslemonade

You can't use physical sales on amazon as an indicator on which sells more.

You can't get an accurate picture on sales unless they combine digital sales with physical sales.

I would imagine the percentage of digital sales would be higher on xbox due to EA access and the 10% discount you get.

Any digital sale doesn't get included in games sales charts so none of the sales charts you see are accurate.

Maybe this i why? JK JK The EA early access is def to blame for this but cool though I mean something like this was going to happen some time. Was EVERY multiplat game accel on PS4 for teh entirety of this gen? There will be some that win over the X1 crowd over PS4. Esp when obvious advantages are in play on either parts of MS or Sony.

Well once the game is out their is no free early access to my knowledge anyway, unless they mean total overall than they are just full of it

nix3327d ago

Not "their". It's "there".

Not a Grammar Nazi but guys please.. these are basic basic things.

Bathyj3327d ago

The g in grammar should be lowercase not upper, and you should have used a comma after the first basic.

Ballsack3327d ago

@bathy lol your too much

nix3327d ago (Edited 3327d ago )

haha. Bathyj. I was using the term "Grammar Nazi".

BTW, how did you get so many bubbles? Last time i saw remember you had like 4 bubbles.

subtenko3326d ago

XboxOne doesnt have as many games and had Early Access for BF:H, duh,lol

Christopher3326d ago

***The g in grammar should be lowercase not upper, and you should have used a comma after the first basic.***

Actually, wrong. Grammar Nazi is a proper noun and therefore gets first letter upper case.

True but not sure why this is news to be honest. The games selling well regardless.

EDIT: But more importantly, how the hell did we get these statistics sooo early?

spacedelete3327d ago

it usually is until the PS4 released that many shooters like Destiny and COD have sold more on PS4. this is good news that PS gamers are not falling for these below average games anymore. first The Order then Evolve and now BF hardline even with a bigger install base.

nowitzki20043326d ago (Edited 3326d ago )

I want it, but BLOODBORNE.

UKmilitia3327d ago

what we have to remember is ps4 gamers dont waste money(or most dont)so will be waiting because of BF4 issues.
also MS has EA access where u can pay above retail(even after subscription and discount)to play it a week early.

IrishSt0ner3327d ago (Edited 3327d ago )

"remember is ps4 gamers dont waste money(or most dont)"

You personally know of, and speak for, over 10million people (most = more than half)? WOW.

"EA access where u can pay above retail(even after subscription and discount)to play it a week early."

PS4 = £54.99
XBO = £54.99 -10% = £49.49

What you're trying to say if someone buys EA access SOLELY for BF Hardline they pay more just to get early access... but shhhhh lets forget every vault game, DLC, discounts and early access to all EA games cus they don't fit your argument.

Talk about cognitive bais.

3326d ago
UKmilitia3326d ago

@irish stoner.

i was refering to retail pricing not the psn price.
its £39 in many places in uk before discount codes so its still paying £10 more with no resale and if its the online mess that BF4 was then u are screwed and stuck with it.

thats the reason many will be holding back from buying it day one because of the issues BF4 .

d0x3603327d ago

Ea access stops working when the game is released. Unless they bought the game there is nobody from access playing

DarXyde3326d ago

One should also consider that shooters/online intensive games tend to do better on Xbox.

I believe, if you're in the market for a certain type of game, you're more likely to get it on a certain platform. Tides have turned a bit this generation, but it would not surprise me if Battlefield just does better on Xbox.

SeanScythe3326d ago

They need something to replace cod, poor guys haven't had anything to play since its release. We have more important thing to do.....Bloodborne

Gamer19823326d ago

People on PS4 still havn't got the game except in the USA. Unlike Xbox users who are all from around the world.

I'm not gonna buy the game. It is literally Battlefield 4 with a new skin. I'll give it a rent at best for now.

Moldiver3327d ago

To be fair, thats enough for BF fans (myself included.). I would have agreed if you said, maybe it should be cheaper because it feels like a reskinned BF4. But I disagreed because you expect it to be something other than a battlefield game. This is a BF game and thus should not deviate from the formula too much. The cops and robbers theme was a good way to go. They could have just made another sci fi shooter but with SW:BF coming, that would be pointless. WW2 has been done to death...So cops and robbers was the way to go.

WCxAlchemist3327d ago (Edited 3327d ago )

Not seeing why this matters! is BF working is the gameplay fun those matter

What is the source of these player counts? and are EA early access people being counted?

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

-Foxtrot758d ago

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw250757d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface757d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop757d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno757d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel758d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps757d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge102888757d ago (Edited 757d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k33757d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge102888757d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH757d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

Ranking All The Battlefield Games

From Xfire: "With the next game being a return to the classic XX42 formula, now is as good a time as any to make an utterly definitive and in no possible way controversial ranking of the Battlefield games we've enjoyed over the years, with which undoubtedly nobody will take issue in the comment section. Right? Okay then - here we go, from least good to best."

OMNlPOTENT1028d ago

Battlefield 1 above 4 and Bad Company 2? Not a chance.

Ruegrong1028d ago

battlefield 4 was broken as shit on launch same as battlefield 3

isarai1028d ago

Bad company 2 was still my favorite, sure it was a bit gimped compared to the rest if the series but more fun and far more satisfying weapon unlocks.

XxINFERNUSxX1028d ago (Edited 1028d ago )

Battlefield 1942 + both expansions are my all time favorite, it can still be played online to this day. Vietnam would be my 2nd, 3rd Battlefield 2, last BF2142 the rest I didn't care for. They really need to remake from the ground up in the new engine BF1942. Next year it will be 20 yrs since it was released. If they don't at least to me would be a disservice. ☹

The Life & Death of the Season Pass

In a time not too long ago, a foul infection spread its way through the games industry. It was a vile illness that burrowed itself in deep, feeding off of greed and the incessant begging of teens desperate to receive funds from their parents. It divided friend groups, suffocated player bases, and was common practice up until recently—it was the season pass.

This doesn't make a ton of sense. Season Passes may slowly fade out for multiplayer games, perhaps, but I don't see them going anywhere in games that are primarily single player. They don't seem to touch on this either, with every game being some kind of online/multiplayer/GaaS title, and nary a mention of a single player game - at least that I saw.

I mean, games like Borderlands 3 just asked people to buy in to the 2nd season pass. Battle passes can't really take over in places that have story driven content and such. So I'd say perhaps they missed a bit of a necessary distinction but, since they claim the death of season pass is at hand, it appears they may have missed how single player games factor into this entirely.
