Cop Rages During Video Game Session

An Xbox Live gaming session turned bad when a gamer decided to troll a cop

The trolls and the cop are both guilty. Cop was trolled pretty hard, and got his name, badge number, the works published on the Net, while the trolls just had a good laugh.

But in this case the cop is 'more' wrong, so to speak.
As a policeman he is held to a higher standard and has a greater responsibility to modulate his behaviour.

It's problematic when anyone says they are "paid to kill Ni@@%&" but for a cop to do it is incredibly irresponsible.

I also hope that the cop gets fired. Should be zero tolerance for racism from people paid by tax payers money to protect them and abusing their power!

Trolls are everywhere. The problem is that, if you are not used to them, people do stupid shit when they meet their ultimate opponent. Some people just can't stand losing at a game. The only reason why we tease people so much is because we find it hilarious to hear the response. The best way to kill a troll is to mute them.

ha people get way too easily wound up on gamx... i admittedly had a quite poor game (well string of games) of COD yesterday and some randomer on the team went ballistic at me... it's a freaking game we're not fighting for our actual lives.

He antagonizes the cop from the start. Yeah, people trash talk in games. The private message was something I'm sure he's used to. But then he invites him to "troll" him and continues to threaten him from the get go? You can't do stuff like this then say "haha u got trolled lololol" It's just stupid.

This isn't over yet. All the cop can do now, that is IF he is an actual cop, is pray that this doesn't reach TV. If it happens, he is screwed and probably won't leave it behind so easily to the "cop killer".

This kind of thing must happen every minute of everyday with adolescents playing videogames online, but because a off-duty police officer may have been involved...suddenly somebody wants somebody fired. Nah son, cops are expected to always be "on duty", yes they're only human but they are also representatives of their respective police forces.
For me the guy can rage as much as he likes, he's entitled to it, but his PD might take a different view.

As much as i hate most police, i respect the good ones becase i know its a hard job.

People like the black guy forget without the law and brave police men our children, wife and mother wouldnt be safe on these streets.

Corruption is everywhere, as are bent cops here in the uk but for the most part the cops r good.

Soooo if I was a cop and I was online getting upset over a video game when I've supposedly been trained to handle even more tense situations you'd be okay running into me and having your family members under my control.

A person that lacks the ability to control his anger, and just simply mute the troll should not be an officer of the law, on duty or not. He also lacks the mental fortitude to even realize that his actions will have repercussions. This is a huge problem with police forces across the nation. The testing should be much more stringent with much more focus on mental state in all situations.

Of course it was going to be an issue for them; it became a big story and the writing was on the wall the moment that happened. The department was going to cover their asses, no doubt. My only point was that this was just two trolls going back and forth and if the idiot had never mentioned his profession, none of us would be sitting here talking about this because it'd be business as usual.

Stuff like this is why I rarely use my headset, unless I'm playing with people I know. I hate trolling. That said, this cops behavior is sickening. If someone starts to troll you, just mute them. I think this cop should be placed under review. Lacking the ability to do what you should do in this situation (just mute the troll) and instead using threats and racist words is terrible coming from a random idiot, let alone a so called officer of the peace.

And this is why America is still a racist police state. What kind of cop is considered okay for duty when he loses his cool at a video game? What kind of police officer is supposed to protect all citizens of his nation when his mindset is he gets paid to beat up a specific portion of the population? This is why I can't trust cops, because time after time it has been proven to me, both in person and through videos like this, that they are generally bad people who's only real reason for being a cop was to be in power because they are the very definition of egotistical.

Police officers reading this, remember your duty and that you are NOT above the law. I hope this man's boss sees this and he gets fired, and I do not understand whatsoever how the troll can think this is okay at all. police are trained to be calm, rational and fair, not angry, racist and stupid enough to give out name, address, badge number and phone number to a man trolling him in a video game.
