HBO GO is Finally Available on PS4; Still Doesn’t Work With Comcast

HBO GO may be available on PS4, but it won't work if you have Comcast.

Comcast...switched to AT&T U-verse and while it is a little bit more expensive the service so far has been way better than Comcast.

I am hoping soon to cut the cord eventually and just use one of these guys for internet only. But I need my sports channels!

Just curious as im not 100% sure but isnt this Sony's problem due to licensing? I doubt it has anything to do with Comcast in general because it does work fine on Xbox consoles. As i said again im not sure if this is the actual issue just kinda stating the obvious that if it works on Xbox perfectly fine with Comcast service why wouldnt it work on Sonys consoles if it wasnt a problem on Sonys end.

No. The PlayStation 4 works well with Cox Communications, AT&T U-Verse, and many other platforms. This is a Comcast problem through and through.

Comcast is satan incarnate. We have Cox and U-Verse in our area and U-Verse is atrocious - we just use it as an excuse towards Cox while threatening to cancel to get unadvertised renewal deals.

Ever since they redid the cable wiring in our apartment complex, my Cox internet service has been extremely reliable and when I have had to deal with customer service, they've usually helped me out fairly quick and hassle free.

I really wonder how bad Comcast will get after the whole net-neutrality thing and being reclassified as a utility. They'll probably be the first ones to "meter" their customers and charge by the MB of usage.

How much is HBO go? Is it worth it? Or is it better to just buy the seasons your interested in when they come out?

You have to have cable subscription that has HBO included to use this app.

I believe stand alone pricing is suppose to be offered later this year.

It should be worth it once you can actually subscribe to a stand-alone app. I don't watch a ton of TV, and HBO Go provides more than enough for me. Tons of great shows, and a decent revolving line-up of movies.

Don't forget you get MaxGo with it as well. Strike Back and Banshee are great.

It's all good. Luckily my XB1 version has Xfinity as a option. I would love to have it on both consoles though. That way if I'm already on console A I can stay on console A when I switch from crunchy roll to HBOGo. My 2 most used apps.

Comcast just bitter because Sony is about to launch Playstation vue tv service. Wish Dios worked as good as Comcast in my area or else I'd switch

I don't understand why HBO went with this app now when they are launching a Netflix style app and service in April. Why not just wait and bypass the cable dictatorship all together?
