Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD - PS4 vs. PS3 Screenshot Comparison

Check out a screenshot comparison between the PS4 and PS3 versions of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD.

Garnelenkoenig3341d ago

PS4-Version looks sharper. But 50 Bucks? Already got that game for my ps3. Hmmm...

Kurisu3341d ago

I bought it digitally for PS3 last year during a PSN sale. Only played like an hour of it, but tempted to buy it again (physical) for PS4 once the price goes down so that I have the boxes for Type-0 HD, FFX and eventually FFXV.

pkb793341d ago

So overpriced. Already spent $60 when it was on PS2, another $45 for the ps3 version and then I grabbed the vita version on sale for $20 to.
I'll be skipping the ps4 copy.

godofboobees3341d ago (Edited 3341d ago )

$60 for ps2 version?

DarXyde3341d ago (Edited 3341d ago )

You paid $60 for a PS2 game?

Unless you live in one of the pricier regions for gaming, games for PS2 were $50.

pkb793341d ago

@DarXyde games have been $60 in canada for the last $20 years at least. It's only this current console gen that they have put the price up to $70.
I don't buy games at full price anymore. The content and quality is just not worth it anymore.

pivotplease3341d ago

Final fantasy games in Canada for me in the ps2 days ranged anywhere from 70 to 90 dollars at release in my town. The only time I paid less was if I got a greatest hits version.

Never got it for PS3. I was going to but kept putting it off and when they announced this version I just decided to wait.

I didn't even expect any difference but it is sharper and character models are better too. Not a huge change but a noticeable one.

Hellsvacancy3341d ago

I've not long got the platinum for this, don't think I'd want to do it all over again for the sake of it looking a little sharper, I'm still trying to get the battle theme song outta my head

I thought the PS3 version looked pretty good, far better than the PS2 version, I guess if you didn't get it on the PS3 the PS4 version is a no brainer

F0XHOUND3341d ago

I'm in the same boat.... countless hours in almost at platinum but still loads of grinding to do.... I don't want to stop but I don't want to miss the ps4 version.... yet I don't know if I'd wanna go for the platinum again so soon lol.

GameSpawn3341d ago

I wish 3rd parties would support CrossBuy. They're doing Cross-Save, throw us a bone man.

Personally, I'm going to wait this one out and pick it up once it hits the $20 mark (maybe along with the Vita version if it is cheap enough as well). If I can get both the PS4 and Vita version for less than $40 I'll utilize the cross-save to grind these out on the move. I tested Remote Play from my workplace and while it works OK, there is noticeable lag and occasional drop outs due to the difference of connections (having it native on each would be better - Remote Play only works really well on my home network).

Shinuz3341d ago

Come on square just release it on pc already ;-)

MasterofMagnetism3341d ago

Got the platinum for both games on PS3 but I might pick this up since I no longer have the PS3 version.

How to truly master Tidus' journey - Top 10 Final Fantasy X Secrets

"There's a surprising amount of interesting things to do in Final Fantasy X but it's not always obvious how to find them. In this top 10 list, I'll break down my favourite of these nifty secrets; perhaps you'll discover something new!" - Alex Legard from Video Chums

Indeed. The HD Remaster was cool but a full remake would be incredible!

Loktai1515d ago

People dont think about it that much but FF games were very close together at that time and also considered
some of the best. The gap between FF7 and FF10 was 4 years. Yes. 4 years.

You know what else was 4 years? The gap between Final Fantasy 13 and the release of Final Fantasy 13-3.

Auron1515d ago

Yes Remake it, Tidus looked like crap on the remaster compared to the ps2 version

Zanarkand1514d ago

I would disagree with a remake there are many previous gen FF games that should come before X. Were getting X-3 sometime in the distant future and that's much more than i could hope for.

hey where is Jill ? (og RE1 only) ......probably the most perfect represantation of a female in a video game...attractive hot ,caring , intelligent, dynamic and strong willed without being a ridiculous masculine takeoff of a femenist wet dream (or like every female representation in games developped by western studios ) but instead behaving sentimental toward her partners like every normal human female

robtion2603d ago

Jill is cool but as far as Resi goes I prefer Sheva Alomar.

_-EDMIX-_2603d ago

I would say the representation of any gender is subjective.

I would say the best representation of any character in general would probably be the Joy from Metal Gear Solid 3!!!

This character is as dynamic as I've ever seen.

Aloy is too.

nevin12603d ago

Not a big fan of female characters but these few are OK.

Elissa Steamer-Tony Hawk Pro Skater

Mileena- Mortal Kombat

Orchid- Killer Instinct SNES

Karin- Street Fighter Alpha Max 3 (PSP)

Regina-Dino Crises

robtion2603d ago

Strange comment. If you are not a fan of female character why bother looking at the article and commenting?

Hypothetical bunch of people discussing their favourite piazza's.
1: I like Ham and Pineapple.
2: I like Supreme.
3: I like Margarita.
Nevin 1: Not a fan of pizza. Garlic bread is ok I guess.

_-EDMIX-_2603d ago

Your problem is not female character is it simply how they've been portrayed but that technically can go for any character, my problem is not male characters, it's simply Bad characters in general.

gender is actually irrelevant to your problem.

(Hopefully)

_-EDMIX-_2603d ago

Might be one of the greatest characters ever presented in a video game.

Elevating the medium tossuch a ridiculously high degree I don't even know if there's a close second right now.

There is no reason why other teams could not deeply Focus their character interactions around something like this.

robtion2603d ago (Edited 2603d ago )

I usually choose female characters over male where given the option.

Some of my favourites in games are:

Jade - Beyond Good and Evil
Alice Liddel - Alice The Madness Returns
Lara Croft
Emily Kaldwin - Dishonored 2
Amanda Ripley - Alien Isolation
Juliet Starling - Lollipop Chainsaw
Catherine - Catherine
Nilin - Remember Me
Kat - Gravity Rush
Nariko - Heavenly Sword
Bayonetta
Ellie - The Last of Us
Elika - Prince of Persia
Dragon Age Inquisition - Female
Mass Effect Trilogy - Female

Moonman2603d ago

Samus is my all time favorite. Nobody can mess with her.

The top 5 female characters in gaming

Celebrate International Woman's Day with these 5 awesome female characters that changed the gaming industry forever

Sillicur2605d ago

Ellie! My all time favorite, Aloy takes a close second place!

Godmars2902605d ago

...Who are likely considered to be sexist by feminist...

mixelon2605d ago

Depends on the feminist? Bayonetta is really the only character on this list who's consistently considered problematic by some (not me!). Lara has come a long way since people had issues with her and the others are strong on their own merits too.

Ellie and Aloy are v inoffensive, strong all rounders. :)

iofhua2605d ago

Samus
Princess Peach
Zelda
Laura Croft
Chun Li

Sorry never played Bayonetta, and I'm not convinced it's as earth-shaking in the world of gaming as it's fans make it out to be. Same for Dragon Age and FFX. It shouldn't be surprising that 3 out of the 5 I picked are Nintendo IP and are recognizable even by non-gamers. People have seen Nintendo advertisements for them since the days of the NES.

Laura Croft and Chun Li are the same. Both are old IP and nearly everyone recognizes them.

Picking characters from recent titles or a character from a single game no matter how popular isn't really being objective about it. That's just personal bias.

It should also be noted that 3 out of the 5 are fighters and only 2 of them are save the princess types (Zelda and Peach). But even those two have games where they fight a little (Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Smash). So I think that's a bit positive for the image of girls in gaming.

AnubisG2604d ago

#1 Lara Croft

For me, she will always be #1.

yeahright22604d ago

Replace Yuna with Samus (Metroid).
And Aloy, I love her but I haven't even finished the game yet, so I'd have to take her off and replace her with either chun li or mz pac man
