Not a fan of the F2P model but I'll give this a shot and see how far I can get before I'm asked to drop some cash.

Father__Merrin3341d ago

I always feel the same way it's worth a shot and any gametime it gives is a bonus.

case in point I got 10h in on path of exile before uninstalling

I think this may do well, but article seems off as why would you use your xbox as bluray player

MasterCornholio3341d ago

Yep that's the beauty of FTP.

Hopefully its fair though.

Yea, i'm just going to have to warn people.

This game is totally pay 2 win.

They say things like you can get the best items by playing and give that illusion but the reality is due to internal cool downs and other methods even if you farmed 24 hours a day a single item will take 3 to 4 months or longer to completely upgrade and you'll have dozens of items. And paying to upgrade a single item can easily cost $400 or more.

And the Xbox version comes with module 4 the upcoming module on PC which will be on Xbox in a few months is adding another grind/p2w layer by increasing the level cap to 70 which means anything you buy now will either become obsolete or you'll need to pay to upgrade the item again. And there is every reason to believe they are re-tuning the content to make it so that it can't be completed unless you have paid for the higher rank gear.

A single character in Neverwinter can easily cost over $3000.

Be careful, the Xbox launch with an earlier version of the game is a trap.

Cryptic and PerfectWorld prey on people with addiction issues.

You have been warned.

F2P games on consoles are kind of rare still so they have a greater impact that it would on PC.

It won't be GREAT, but it will be a nice game to go play while your waiting for a new one to release.

And it's Free.

supersonicjerry3340d ago

you won't get very far then because they ask to drop cash pretty early on. You don't have to drop cash tho

Because the ps4 has better exclusives, right?

Chanogram3341d ago

I know this is an opinion piece, but i had to stop reading after the first line: "Am I the only one desperately searching around for something to play on my Xbox One?"

There is a TON to play. Unless you have 10+ hours to spend on games a day, you shouldn't be out of games. If your main console is a PS4, then I guess i get it, but if not...

MPScrimshaw3341d ago

Its not a matter of being "out of games" its a matter of the Xbox One library of games being abysmal. I should know better, I'm a third gen Xbox user, but if you don't want a same-old same-old shooter, you're basically out of luck.

Red3341d ago

What I play on my Xbox One
UFC
Far Cry4
Killer Instinct
Forza Horizon 2
Sunset Overdrive
NBA 2K15
IDARB
Dance Central:Spotlight
COD:AW
Minecraft
Worms
Peggle 2
Limbo
Trials Fusion
GTA:V
Project Spark
Chariot
D4
Guacamelee
Super Time Force
Titanfall
Max: The curse of Brotherhood
and most of the games in the EA access vault.
Not listing the other games I have because I don't really play them. But clearly there's more than just "same-old same-old shooters"

Chanogram3341d ago

Abysmal is hardly the word i'd use for the games out on Xbox One. Also, to clarify, I meant the PS4 statement as in you play all your Multi-plat games on PS4, and use X1 for exclusives. I am in that boat with my PS4 (nothing to play), because i play all the multi-plat games on X1.

There are so many games out, for being only a year and a half (or less) into launch. I really just dont get the "abysmal" part.

Vasto3341d ago (Edited 3341d ago )

Post like this just seem out of place now. What shooters?

gangsta_red3340d ago

You have Screamride, Ori and this D&D game this month coming to Xbox One...none of those games are shooters.

Looks like we're back in luck!

Why doesn't he have any xb1 games to play?

thrust3341d ago

Because he does not have a xbox one

christocolus3341d ago

lmao.that was funny. bubs +1.

NeoGamer2323341d ago

He lost me at "Nothing to play on X1".

Moldiver3340d ago

Same here.

Im still enjoying all my XB1 games. especially FH2, FM5 and halo. SSO was sick, and still gets playtime. Super time force is the best 2d shooter I played since radiant silvergun. Cant wait to sink my teeth into ori and below is going to be like zelda meets dark souls meets the journey. Cant wait for those.

And thats before I even talk about my multiplats that I play on live like BF4, farcry and soon Pcars amongst others.

XB1 is my go to console right now. Aint played my PS since returning DC last year, but Ill be borrowing my brothers copy of the order over the weekend. I should beat it in an afternoon on hardest settings with aim assist off. Then its back to FH2, halo and BF4 for me. Until ori comes out. Im going to sign up to EA access on friday, so I can get hardline early and with a discount. Hope they do the same for ME4 and starwars:BF.

"Neverwinter: Menzoberranzan" is now available for PC, Xbox, and Playstation

"Cryptic Studios and Gearbox Publishing are today very happy and excited to announce that "Neverwinter: Menzoberranzan" (Neverwinter’s 25th module) is now available for PC (via Steam), Xbox (via the Microsoft, and Playstation via digital stores (as announced at Wizards of the Coast’s Dungeons & Dragons Direct 2023 showcase)." - Jonas Ek, TGG.

It's for that online game, correct? I always wanted to see the drows home from Drizzt's books, I've read those years ago, but I never could fully imagine it from text alone. Looks a bit bright compared to what I remember how it was described, but I'm guessing that's for gameplay reasons.
