it is just weird to see ffxv everywhere these days lol.
what a turnaround its been.
i mean does anyone rembember the days when people used to sit and decrypt event websites to see if ffxv was ever mentioned on it

DarkOcelet3346d ago

Yes, I remember two years ago after the announcement at E3, it was nowhere to be found. Many thought it was cancelled.

Blastoise3346d ago

Yep, 9 years later and it's 60% done!

What a world we live in...

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3346d ago

It seems like I have to respond to someone like this every time FFXV is brought up. FFXV started from scratch in 2012 for the PS4 which is why it's taking so long. 9 years of work has not been done for the game.

Chard3346d ago

Yeah I remember seeing things like "Square reveals TGS 2010 lineup". I click on the article in anticipation. First comment: "No Final Fantasy Versus XIII". I die a little inside.

Unlimax3346d ago (Edited 3346d ago )

Yeah i still remember that , back when it was named Final Fantasy Versus XIII and i was extremely hyped at that time , it was the core reason i bought PS3 since the 2006 E3 trailer ( wow time passes fast .. ) , i didn't regret that decision , many JRPG's and many good games on that system :)
still hoping for Parasite Eve announcement ... *sigh*

jollygoodchap83346d ago (Edited 3346d ago )

+1 for Parasite Eve.

I replayed it so many times on New game plus by the end I had an insanely godily weapon haha.

* Just think about how much money was put into FF14 TWICE, & FF15.

* How many Dragon Quest games could we have got by now ?

* How many Final Fantasy Tactics could we have got with that money ?

* How many new IP's could have been created with that money.

And they put all their eggs in basically 1-2 baskets and HOPE that it all works out.

They are walking a fine line.

I hope the money they spent is worth it.

FF15 better be epic.

vishmarx3346d ago

ff14 will make them more money than all those combined,
thats business

3-4-53346d ago

True...it was worth it to re-invest in FF14 to re-coup any money at all...I get that.

But They could still make a few more $20 Million dollar games.

They don't all have to cost $100 Million +

Just cause 3, finally some gameplay i hope.

Simco8763346d ago (Edited 3346d ago )

I just hope they revisit a little old school in FFXV, I might give it a shot then. FFXII seems like so long ago...FFXIII doesn't exist IMO

Bhuahahaha3346d ago

ffxv looks good but i do hope when they go with the new ff project they'll drop the futuristic style and go back to medieval times. like only modes of transport is a chocobo and ship and job specific characters

Simco8763346d ago

don't tease me like that!

slappy5083346d ago

Excited to see this! Why?
Just cause...

Relientk773346d ago

Final Fantasy XV better be really good, that's all I have to say, if we have to wait this long for it

Yuji Naka guilty of insider trading breaks silence to accuse Square Enix producer of lies

Yuji Naka was fined $1.2 million and given a suspended jail sentence for the crime.

Profchaos13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

I find his comments around how Balan turned out to be very insightful as to why the game is trash. He basically apologises for its existence

solideagle12d ago

can you please give some of us who don't know anything about this, a summary of what happened?

Chocoburger12d ago

Balan was knowingly rushed out by S-E, it had an extremely short dev cycle and was fairly low budget.
Naka was the game's director until near the end when he was fired or perhaps he quit, I forgot.

carrotcakeag12d ago

@Chocoburger Yeah they did fire and replace him which caused him to unload a bunch of rants about the company. The project only existed because of Naka in the first place, he convinced Square to give him one shot at making a platformer. They gave him an opportunity but pulled the rug out before he was done for reasons not explained.

Please o please don't turn dragon quest into final fantasy square enix we dont wont that. Dragon quest works well just as it I. Plus you'll piss off Japanese fans to.

jznrpg16d ago

Hopefully they don’t. From this it doesn’t sound like that is the case and development is just taking too long.
