PS4 Slim Incoming Soon?

3-4 years after the original seems to have been the trend so far. The PS2 slim was released 4 years after the original and the PS3 slim was released 3 years after the original.

Honestly, it's only been a year so I think it's still way too soon for another version.

It's funny, all the big Microsoft Xbox news (DX12, Cross play, Streaming games, Windows 10 etc) and all going on in the Sony camp is another version of the PS4 LOL!!!

What is wrong with that? I think the general consumer would find news about a smaller/cheaper PS4 more appealing than news about Cross play and streaming (something that has been relevant to PlayStation for a bit now).

Cross Play PS4 has that, Game Streaming PS4 and PS3 has that. Low level system programming tools SONY has that. So... What is your point?

Since you felt the need to drop by this article to downplay a PS4 slim, I feel the need to rain on your parade in kind. Dude Microsoft's big news isn't big news at all. Remote Play? Being done by Sony. Streaming Games? Being done by Sony. Cross Play? Will be done SFV. DX12 is just an upgraded version of DX11 and will not improve the Xbox One's performance in any significant way.

As for a PS4 slim, if Sony does manage to slim it down even more and release it this year, that would be a real coup de tau of sorts... I can see the headlines now:

there isn't going to be a ps4 slim jesus christ, who's creating all this bs??? yall must be a special kind of special, maybe dropped as children, how do you suppose a ps4 slim will work if the ps4 itself has no more room inside to be slimmer?
what your going to just magically shrink the tech inside? you can't, that's as slim as its going to get, now drop it, wishful thinking or damage control on behalf of what ms has announced thus far.

X1 could be slimmed but the PS4 I don't know if they can make it slimmer without removing a component like the hard drive or removing the power supply in exchange for a external power adapter. Also unless they have a more power efficient apu already they can't decrease the heat sink size or they would risk overheating issues.

Thinking they'll take out the PSU (takes up almost 50% of the internal space right now) and put a power brick on there in order to make it that much smaller. The APU has already gotten a smaller version along with increased in size GDDR RAM cards basically making it so they have to have less slots for those means they can really make a pretty nice reduction. A man doesn't think they'll use that card this early though. They simply don't need to use the slim trump card till the sales taper off just a little. A man is thinking they'll do a $50 price cut this Fall then release the slim and make it $299 in September 2016

I just think Sony or Microsoft or both will come out with a slim/lite version to time it with Nintendo's next console.

Purely for business ( either to take away some gloss and sales ).
