PSN Currently Down for Some Users, Sony Looking Into It

once again it looks like the servers can't handle peak loads. hopefully they start investing more so that when a big game/large update or a new service comes out they don't buckle with a surge in people trying to connect.

Did gamers trying to download PSNow for the FREE Trial knock out PSN? They were scheduled to come down on Thursday from 9:00a - 1:00p, but apparently something happened to take it down sooner.

I heard Sony was investing in improving their network, but it doesn't seem like they've done anything yet. With all that money rolling in from PS+ subscriptions, you would expect a lot less down time. It seems to be a lot more since they launched the PS4.

Yeah, I'm having problems, i can sign in but the store doesn't work and i keep getting a message saying PSN is undergoing maintenance. I also can't use PlayStation Now because it can't connect to server to verify the license.

Store is working on the systems but the web storefront looks down. Other than that everything else seems to be working. Playing online now.

Also, I am playing on PSNow but the game itself had issues signing into the network. This is actually good to know that the steaming still works if something else is having trouble.

Oddly enough i can play online also, just can't use store, PlayStation now, and some other things like i can't edit my account info i instead get error (CE-35327-0). Sony servers are probably overloaded because of the PlayStation Now free trial or something.

Looks like its back up. So I guess you werew right. You can log in from the PSNow XMB menu. Its working again.

Had similar last night when my Son wanted to play Spelunky but the lock icon was next to the PS Plus games downloaded. I could get into the store, was signed in, everything but it wouldn't let him play any of the free games. I went to the store and clicked start on the games to see if that'd trigger the license and no luck. Glad I buy my games on disc.

My PS4 didn't go online when I was gaming the day before yesterday. Didn't bother me cause I played GTAV story mode anyway as I intend to do today soon after putting the kids to bed. It's not cool to have PSN down if it's due to traffic etc. stuff that Sony should be able to prevent from happening.

I don't get the disagrees. Psn has always been spotty compared to live but now with the ps4 success sony can't seem to keep there online running smooth. The more this happens the more people will know about it and eventually it will hurt sales. I wish so e of that ps+ money would go towards upgrading servers.

Yeah I hear this they make $50 million a month from ps+ to me someone has added up the rough figure of 10 million users times that by the one month charge of £5-whatever that works out in $ and come up with $50 million, yeah cos I'm sure it doesn't cost sony a penny to just run the service in the first place. Not to mention compensate all those developers whose games they give away on multiple platforms each month im sure they are making money just not sure on those figures either way every console has its problems. They were scheduled for downtime Thursday if it's already down in places take it down early do what they need to and have it back to normal by sometime tomorrow and don't bother doing it Thursday instead, makes sense but sure it'll be intermittent and they'll still take it down properly for the maintenance on Thursday, I'm sure it's just a case of sony not being ready for the amount of consoles they shifted, 20 million in the first year, sure they would have expected that in 2-3 years but within 12 months (ok it was 18-19 million but most likely already 20 by now) these next few months I think they need to start shifting their resources over from PS3 and start transferring the servers for use on the ps4 instead as it seems a lot of people are happy to jump ship already last thing they want on these next gen systems is just constant online issues.

I'm online, but I'm not logging off now. Typical PSN tbh. PSNow trial is up for free, servers get jammed up, and people can't get on.

Been on PSN since day 1 of PS3, and I'm used to PSN being crap, but it's getting annoying that it's still the same in "next gen" even when we're paying for it.

I'm not asking for free games, or any compensation, I just want a stable network now that I'm paying for it. Nothing is perfect, but PSN literally can't get worse at this point imo. If it wasn't for pre-load, every new hyped up game would crash PSN when they release.

Time to fix this SONY, no excuses now that people are paying for it.

Not sure if this has to do with the problems I've been experiencing but, first my PS3 wasn't detecting my cd. Then, it tells me the cd has an error and to try a different one so, I try a different one but, they doesn't work either. So, I restart and then my ps3 tells me I don't have enough data space so, I clear data space. After all that, the ps3 logs me out and tells me to log in again so I attempt to log in and then it tells me sony is undergoing matinence. I really hope that when sony fixes this problem, it'll fix all the problems I'm having. Fingers crossed!

Sony have had years to sort out their network, its the main reason that puts me off buying a PS4. I know they have some great games coming out like Bloodbourne and UC4, but Sony have to realise that a stable network is really important to some people. A few more pixels here and there don't matter to me, I like stuff to work and I honestly don't have the faith in them right now to sort it out, especially after all the promises they keep making.

I'm not being malicious or a fanboy about this, I'm just being realistic.

Was down for 30 mins for me last night , called customer service and said it should be up soon , after I got off the phone it was up. Just got an xbox 1 , friend needed money so I got it cheap. It was down once for me too. I live in MN , I wonder if its the extreme cold though it shouldnt be a reason. Both networks are going to have issues , just like my cable company does. if these things do happen , I just play offline.
