The article is an analysis of the Xbox One based on the SDK documentation leak. It shows off the 5GB RAM, memory bandwidth (for example, in real world Microsoft says only 80 percent of DDR3 bandwidth is achievable), analysis of the graphics drivers, the operating systems and more.

really ive hardly noticed a difference on some of the big games, and in some instances the xb1 graphics actually look better.

the bottom line is they're almost identical it hardly matters.

Exactly, Quantum Break is only a tiny bit behind UC4, and Halo 5 multi looks better than Killzone shadowfalls single player and that build was from months ago. If Gears can look as good as the black tusks reveal that will also be another great looking game. Both systems will put out near CGI quality games as long as its not too open world.

Believe it or not, people actually like the technically aspect of their devices as they like tech. How is that hard to understand. Just because you have no interest doesn't mean others won't. If Both consoles would output 1.30 teraflops it would matter, but the ps4 is 1.84 teraflops. Has more room to grow. Then is easier to work... There no catching up because the Numbers dont lie. The cpu are average and the horsepower comes from the gpu.

People forget what the guru of Sony did se the cell... Talk about games and not an average machine That has problems to reach 1080p in 2015!!! WHy didnt Microsoft. Spent more money on the cpu and gpu???? They have so much Money then Sony.

Microsoft didn't have a clue what the real specs of the ps4 were so didn't have a chance at trying to outclass the ps4 with xbone, the fact is the ps4 is the better hardware and will be for the entire gen.

Because a lot of things are not fully understood about the Xbox One architexture. I Believe it's built with DX12 in mind, maybe they chose the weaker GPU on purpose seeing the max performance they can get with optimization later on? I've seen 900p @60fps on a 290x jump to 1080p @80fps using mantle. Many developers say DX12 is leaps ahead of mantle.

So what would happen if a game like Forza Horizon 2 is using DX12 optimizations, if it's already 1080p @ 30fps using 4xmsaa?

I also have to agree with this. I keep reading from people that Dx12 won't have any or much to do with Xbox One, but I refuse to believe that MS made a next gen console without DX12 in mind.

Still going on about DX12 lol MS themselves said it will be a small improvement on console, when it's all done and dusted wtf other conspiracy are you guys gonna go to next because you are gonna need one. Either be happy with what you have (like you all pretend to be) and accept it won't outperform the ps4 or live in denial through the entire gen and look like clowns to the entire gaming population.

Just keeping it real just be happy with what you have because it's not changing. If It was the ps4 on the short end of the stick I wouldn't be trying to convince myself it wasn't.

I think people are remaining cautiously optimistic about dx12. You on the other hand have spent the day constantly posting negative garb.

Try this for size. No conspiracies are required as in the end they are both pieces of plastic. And not once in the two posts above yours did anyone state that the xbox one would evercmatch the ps4 only that it is improving.

Its people like you that made the choice obvious to move to the 'weaker' hardware myself as now I'm safe in the knowledge I never have to play online with the likes of you.

Here is another tip for you though, there are those of us who are adults and get paid vast amounts of money, I can literally buy whatever I want (within reason) gaming is only a small hobby for some and xbox one performs perfectly well for me. I'd rather get fresh air and sunshine and race one of my motorcycles around a track.

So next time you feel like bringing up the ps4 when no one you are responding to brought it up first you should back away a few feet from your computer and yell out to your mum from your basement to bring you more pop tarts and mountain dew, then take a deep breath and hold

Small fry, what I'm getting at is if DX12 could and will even out the work loads of the CPU on the one, don't you think a game like forza horizon 2 could be running @ 60fps with a CPU boost of 45 to 50%? If you've ever dabbled with mantle you would know that it ultilizes the CPU cores more effectively, DX12 is a little ahead of that in terms of " to the metal".

You're keeping it "real"? Who are you, ahh yes.. You are like many others on here, nothing more then a desperate fanbum looking for targets on a Xbox article. You're beloved god is not as powerful as you think. It has a better GPU and unified memory, but where have I seen this before?

Xbox 360 also had a better GPU and unified memory, yet PS3 came out on top with secondary processors like the cell.. I say "things are not fully understood" ( move engines) because Albert Penello qouted that some months back. It's not me just saying that.

The architecture itself is pretty well understood. Outside some customization to the APU performed by MS, the rest of the system is pretty generic and not too much different than a common PC. The ESRAM isn't common, but it's purpose is known because MS disclosed it.

The increases in performance seen since it's release were all down to improved SDK's, or MS actually releasing locked off parts of the system for development use.

As far as DX12 optimizations being used, hard to say. MS won't really say one way or the other what kind of actual impact it will have on development. Outside of that though, the actual abilities of the chips involved in the system are pretty well understood as to their performance ratios and their limits.

Basically what I'm saying is that no number of SDK updates will allow a chip to process more than it's designed to process. How much the chips are currently processing with the current SDK is unknown.
