Fans of the classic Mega Drive platformer, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, have this week launched a campaign in the hopes of convincing publisher Sega to green-light a mobile-based remastered edition of the game.
First 4 Figures has released video and images of the next statue in its growing Sonic the Hedgehog range. This nicely-dynamic diorama features the blue blur getting a lift into Sonic 3's Angel Island Zone, courtesy of his dopey pal was Tails.
DSOGaming writes: "YouTube’s ‘Eukaryot’ has released a new fan remaster of the classic Sonic 3 game, called Sonic 3 A.I.R. Sonic 3 A.I.R. is built on top of the Sonic 3 & Knuckles Steam version, meaning that you’ll need this Steam version in order to play this fan remaster."
It’s a shame Sega itself won’t allow Christian Whitehead to remaster Sonic 3&K
You know that the 90's had the best music, and Sonic brought you the best of the best.
Ugh, mobile? No thanks. Give me a remastered release on Consoles, Handhelds, or Steam instead.
The Sonic CD remaster got ported to PC, so I guess it's possible we'll see this on Steam down the line - if SEGA ever approves it...
I'm certain I played this game on the Megadrive, followed by a 'remake/collection' on PS2....then a very similar collection on PS3... why do people want the same game remade over and over again?!
Something similar to this project happened a few years ago. I just wish they were able to finish. You can read about it here. http://info.sonicretro.org/...
Hopefully, this project will do well.
