The Xbox One may be doing fairly well in the United States and the United Kingdom, but it's another story in the land of beer and bratwurst.

Sony having supply issues? I guess they can't keep up with the demand during the holiday season.

They said something like ''european supplies will be challenged this holidays''.

Gamer19823391d ago

They did indeed especially since they were getting ready for China launch which clearly didn't happen. Still holidays taxed them so much they canned the China launch till later in the end. Supply is a bugger right now for Sony. A nice problem to have though.

xer03390d ago (Edited 3390d ago )

All those shipped numbers of 10 million Xboxes, doesn't mean that they are selling those Xboxs' to consumers. The retailers are selling those Xboxs' at a loss, to make room for items that will sell.

Once those Xbox One supplies have sold to consumers, Microsoft will announce 10 millions xboxs sold to consumers. However, retailers, will not be buying/ordering as many Xboxs' as they had in 2014, because it's a slow seller.

Sony, has this generation sewn up... and the only thing keeping Xbox afloat, is Microsofts billions.

Microsofts strategy for 2015 is to burn through more advertising dollars and purchase 3rd party exclusives.., while selling Xbox at a loss.

Sony on the other hand never reduced their RRP during the holiday, and they continue to make a profit on each PS4 sold.

"I took the opportunity to canvass a few gamers who were lingering around the stores, asking their opinions on both next-gen machines and which they opted for and the general opinion is that the Xbox One is a lower quality machine whereas the PS4 is seen as a premium product from a top-name brand."

The public has spoken. Xbox is still unknown to many regions where is the PS4 is known to almost every gamer out there. They need to market it more in the middle east and foreign locations because how can they expect someone to buy their product when they have never heard of it.

I think when the supplies will be restocked is when they bundle The Order 1886 with it. Good to see there is a great demand for the PS4.

chrish19903391d ago

To be honest that was only around 40 or so people so I dont think it's representative of a nation as a whole. Still a small indication. Also, Germans are VERY brand aware, I told my landlady that I'd gotten a new vacuum cleaner for the office and the first thing she asked was what brand it was, then berated me for not getting an expensive dyson when a cheap 30 euro dust sucker will do the job fine.

DarkOcelet3391d ago

Haha, you should have probably bought a better vacuum cleaner because the cheap one wont last. 40 people might be a small indication but if they like you say are brand aware then most likely the Germans will choose PS4 over Xone.

zeuanimals3391d ago

True, it's a small sample size, but the sales don't lie. I don't know if people in Europe really feel that the PS4 is a premium product or not compared to the XBO, but they do buy it a lot more than the XBO.

Those are the sales charts of games of 2014 in Germany. While they don't include download games and only retail that should give you a bettee indication. One X1 retail exclusive game is in the Top 100 games with Forza 5 at number 91.

rainslacker3391d ago (Edited 3391d ago )

From my experience, single stores can vary based on their console preference, even within the same city. Stores are usually set up by regions, but within a city, the clientele often can be one way or the other.

One GameStop near me seems to be very PS oriented with their staff and don't see many people looking over the Xbox side of the store, whereas one about 4 miles away near the big mall in the area(and very close to my work) seems to definitely be all about Xbox...but luckily the staff aren't annoying fan boy types....mostly anyways.

Also, cheapo vacuums work just as well as those super expensive ones when they're new for about a year if you keep them unclogged and stuff. You can buy a new vacuum every year and get about as much out of it as a nice Dyson or Oreck and still come out ahead However, in your case, for an office....a nicer vacuum may have been better and more convenient over the long run.

I would agree with the advertising in the middle east part,I'm from Middle east and believe me when I say that no one I know owns an Xbox one.Almost everyone here has grown up with a PS brand. No one really cares for the Xbox brand here.

eyeDEVOUR3391d ago

No, sorry.. In 2003 when i was in iraq/kuwait(i was in the army then) all the local venders sold bootleg ps2&xbox games so most ppl everywhere know about microsofts consoles...lol

One obvious bullshit story. Click bait.

chrish19903391d ago

Really, please do tell how you can come to such a conclusion? As the author of the article I can dispel any of your queries. If you don't want to do it publicly, please do feel free to PM.

DarkOcelet3391d ago

Dont feed the troll. Just ignore him.

kurruptor3391d ago

It does come off as click bait to me. A lot of that article is about a single retail store and a random manager's opinion.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3391d ago

How is it clickbait when it's probably true? Isn't the PS4 outselling the Xbox One in Europe by a large margin? Which console is having problems keeping up with demand in Europe, Xbox One or PS4? The evidence is there. It just up to Xbox One fanboys to accept it and move on instead of blaming the Xbox One's lack of popularity in Europe on the customers.

Well I have both n love my X1, I still think 60% of 360 gamers not move to X1 yet,... They still millions of gamers playing 360, we know 90%'ps3 owners didn't like it so they move to ps4 faster then 360 gamers,... Watch n see what happens,.. I still think my X1 is lot funnier n better then my ps4,

thanhgee3391d ago

Pretty sure most of the Xbox 360 owners moved to the PS4 after their disastrous launch. And being a Xbox 360 owner myself, I hated it. They practically ditched the console after the launch of Halo/Gears and left it to other companies to make multiplats.

Kribwalker3391d ago

I was an owner of each the PS3 Xbox 360 and wii last gen, so far I've only bought the Xbox one. Out of my friends list of active players, I have 39 friends from the 360 that have upgraded to the Xbox one. Out of 80 active users, that's pretty good. As well, I'd like to ask you about this disaterous launch you are talking about? They had a disaterous unveiling, but they managed to sell 3.2million in the first month and a half and over 10 million in the first year outselling previous Xbox 360 and selling 40% of the original xbox's lifetime sales as well. It's not selling as well as the PS4, but only one has ever sold better (the wii), It's still having a great run in its first year, probably top 5 sales in first year

the_dark_one3391d ago

"we know 90%'ps3 owners didn't like it so they move to ps4 faster then 360 gamers" - any source story link for that??? last i checked ps3 was still poping games after games and exclusives ones and lot of people like those games while on 360 not much was released that wasnt cross gen multiplat.

" I still think 60% of 360 gamers not move to X1 yet"- maybe you right, but many of this 360 players moved to ps4

lodossrage3391d ago (Edited 3391d ago )

@Macdaddy71

I would LOVE to know where you get this "fact" of 90% of the ps3 owners not liking it so they moved on to the PS4 quicker.

Comments like that make me realize xb fanboys(not fans) have no other excuses to hide behind so now you just make up b.s.

The higher price excuse was negated when MS excluded Kinect to have the price even with the PS4. Then there was the "other countries" excuse. Well, now the system IS out in those other countries. Then there was the "China" excuse, which the system is also already out in.

So now, with no other excuses to use, b.s. like "we know 90%'ps3 owners didn't like it so they move to ps4 faster then 360 gamers" get said.

zeuanimals3391d ago (Edited 3391d ago )

I really don't understand how they can think that not liking a certain product from a company will lead people to buy the next iteration of that product from that same company. That's like burning your hand on a red hot stove and wondering if it'll burn again if you touch it while it's still red hot. Even babies tend to learn to not touch stoves when they're hot.

Therefore, it makes sense that people will tend to buy the next iteration of a product that they really liked, not the opposite.

But sure, PS3 owners are just that dumb I guess, and they didn't learn anything. But I guess console manufacturers learned the best way to sell a product. Make it crappy and people will buy the next iteration because they disliked the one they currently own, and if that one's crap too, people will buy the next one, and the next one, and so on, and so on. That's some grade A logic right there, right guys? Guys?

lodossrage3391d ago

@zeuanimals

Exactly

But in this troll's world, it seems customary to buy a newer version of a product you were already unsatisfied with.

OB1Biker3391d ago (Edited 3391d ago )

' we know 90%'ps3 owners didn't like it...'
You listen too much xbox propaganda.

Yusuf Mehdi (Xbox 'Marketing and Strategy Officer') said last May:
'the difference in sales is due to consumers being more satisfied with the Xbox 360 than the PlayStation 3, and thus being less inclined to upgrade'

lol

remixx1163391d ago

Hmm, ni no kuni, the last of us, ratchet and clank into the nexus, beyond 2 souls, puppeteer and gran turismo 6 in 2013. Yeah I was pretty happy with my ps3 on its last full year.

RDF3391d ago

Now, after he stated that. Mehdi has dropped off the map. The bunch of bull he was spouting was even more outrageous then Maj Nelsons. MS needs to keep a tight leash on those two.

mkis0073391d ago

The facts actually support the opposite. Ps3 had way more exclusives that people would need to buy in its wanning years. Xbox people are more likely to have moved already. All the ones I know moved to ps4.

theFAYEsorceress3391d ago

@mac

yeah, 'cause people always buy the more expensive follow-up product to something that they hate. /s

rainslacker3391d ago

Price was probably more an issue about whether people moved on or not. PS4 came out relatively cheap for a next gen console, which spurs faster adoption. I personally haven't seen a lot of discontent from PS3 owners before the PS4 was revealed, or up until the PS4's release....or even now for that matter since it's still getting plenty of content, and is a solid system all around.

Funny thing....did you know the PS3 and 360 still sell pretty well and neither has received a significant price drop since the new systems released?

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3391d ago

@Macdaddy71

"we know 90%'ps3 owners didn't like it so they move to ps4 faster then 360 gamers,..."

I have a PS3 and a PS4 and i'm still playing games on my PS3. Here's how dissatisfied I was with my PS3: Bought one in 2008, was still playing my PS2 up until then. In January 2014, I bought a PS4, gave my PS3 to my nephew, then a few months later, bought another PS3. Hahaha, I guess i'm just another dissatisfied customer.

TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "Well, this is neat. As the name suggests, Wrath of the Mutants is the rarest of things – a genuine arcade conversion. With most modern arcade games being ticket redemption machines, this is something seldom seen. In fact, the last arcade conversion we can recall was Raw Thrill’s own Cruis’n’ Blast on Switch back in 2021. This is also based on an older iteration of TMNT, harking back to the series from 2012-2017. It’s essentially breaking franchise continuity (we’ve had two different iterations of the Turtles since) and could even be considered nostalgic for a select few – those who grew up with 2012’s Turtles are probably in their late teens."
