Serious answer. No. there are no consoles allowed in North Korea. Their internet and cell phones are limited to only government run networks. No outside access is allowed. If someone manages to access the outside world, it is a death sentence. Only government agencies and a few highly placed individuals even have internet access. The entire country only has 4 internal networks and 1028 active IP addresses.

Well am in the uk (London) and it has been working flawlessly for me all day! i am on xbox live via my xbox one at this very moment!
I doubt allot of people are affected, if any its a minor amount of players probably.

Still do not get why online gaming is free on PC but yet you have to pay to play online on XBL/PSN. Not only you have to pay for broadband but for XBL/PSN as well and yet they cannot deliver protection for services we pay for.

Actually they deliver on the protection side just fine. I have yet to get a virus or malware delivered to any of my consoles after downloading literally hundreds of games, videos and apps... same cant be said for my PC as I often have to run my Malware to ensure crap sites are not trying to load BS on to my computer. DDOS attacks are annoying for sure but I think they do pretty well to recover from them.

The thing is with a DDOS attack chances are you have many nodes making many requests. When any node makes an abnormal volume of requests it can be blacklisted. Combine this with the fact that Xbox live runs on Azure and will, I assume use the autoscale feature like many of us third party Azure users opt for, you might see a blip but it will soon recover.

The only way to do it where the platform cannot block/recover is to have a silly volume of nodes making a very small and "normal" number of requests each. Which compared to the volume of real users hitting the service this is just not going to happen. At least not without some from of virus creating sleeper nodes.

Thinking about it, this could be why its only 360 as they, I suspect still run on the legacy non-elastic server platform.
