'Night Trap 25th Anniversary' Review | GeekDad

Geek Dad: "I truly recommend adding Night Trap to your library to have a bit of fun, nostalgia and a piece of gaming history."

You mean add a game for pure nostagia. This game was shit back in the day and it's still shit now. I do not understand these old ass games being looked at as good when they sucked when they first came out. No one liked this game when it first came out, they played in the hope of seeing some boobs.

Wrong. So wrong. No way did you grow up in the Sega CD era and actually think this. If you did you must have been a time traveler, a visionary who knew this wasn't the future of interactive entertainment. I bet you'll say Dragon's Lair was a shit arcade game next.

As a kid Sega CD seemed like alien technology it was so advanced and I couldn't get enough of it. I remember saving up for 1.5 years, my $5 a week allowance just to buy it. The day I unboxed it will go down in history as one of the happiest moments of my childhood. This was the future and it was finally in my home. When I played Sewer Shark, man I was blown away by it. So was every kid in my neighborhood.

When Night Trap released I didn't care about boobs, I was too young and innocent still. No I wanted this interactive horror game for the same reason I purchased resident evil VII for PSVR. I simply wanted a brand new experience.

Actually you are so wrong, most of my friends didn't even want sega cd, there were only a handful of good games on it, sonic cd being one. Everyone still stuck with nintendo and sega genesis. Just because you were outside the norm doesn't mean it was normal.

It has Dana Plato though, she was hot back in the day. but yeah the game was crap even when it was new, its notoriety was what sold it.

Look I am excited to get the game. I will agree it wasn't looked at as a good game then either. It's more of its cultural impact on gaming is why its memory stays alive instead of a game like Sewer Shark. Because of its history, the game has gained a cult following the same way Troll 2 has. It's enjoyable how bad it is instead of just being flat out insultingly bad like Dracula on SEGA CD.

I have never been more excited to get shipping confirmation for such an awful game. Soon it's lameness will be in my hands and I get to stare at 90s hotness in Plato.
