GGG writes about why they don't like Lizard Group's reasoning for their PSN DDoS attack today.

This writer is silly. When the story first broke, their stated 'reason' for doing this was 'PC MASTER RACE'. It was only after they had gained some publicity that they tried to act like this was about fighting against 'corporate greed'.

Eonjay3525d ago

And then everything went to hell in a handbag. It changed from fanboy trolling to consumer activists to ISIS fighters to airplane jihadists and then into maytrs. Allot of people missed the tweet where they proclaimed that they were willing to die for something. And now they are claiming to have attacked the Vatican.

So yeah.

yewles13525d ago (Edited 3525d ago )

That reminds me... why are people skimping through the bombscare? Threatening peoples' lives is a much bigger deal.

Eonjay3525d ago (Edited 3525d ago )

@yewles1

Because thats where any doubt about whether they were full of sh!t become glaringly apparent. They committed a FELONY. And put people at risk while disrupting hundreds of people's day that had nothing to do with this. And that doesn't sound like consumer activism. It doesn't even require an article. Or analysis.

Its okay for us to jump to the conclusion that these guys are narcissistic idiots.

Dee_913524d ago (Edited 3524d ago )

Its called attention whore. The more you talk about them, the more they seek attention. Therefore do whats necessary people..

NewMonday3524d ago

@Eonjay

reminds me of the Joker where he gave a different sad origin story every time he told it, also remember Alfred's line "some people just want to watch the world burn"

morganfell3524d ago (Edited 3524d ago )

The claim is now out that the first member has been arrested. I am not sure if there is any truth right now, but I certainly hope so. DDOSing is amateur work and with the bragging being done they are more than likely inexpereinced. So if they haven't been arrested yet they will be.

They do not realize that dancing around the language of a bomb threat will not save them from terrorism charges. You can expect them to be made an example of to discourage other adolescents making unfounded threats.

The whole PC MASTER RACE tweet was just a joke. It was just them talking trash. They never once said that was their actual reason, if you read their tweets. They talked a LOT of trash, and that was just a 3 word tweet with no explanation of its meaning.

But regardless, the corporate greed is just BS too. They called in a bomb threat, started talking like Muslim activists, then took down Vatican City's website last night too.

They're just looking to cause problems for people. Thats all. Nothing they say makes any sense.

I reallu doubt they are Muslim activists. I find it hard to believe that real Muslim activists would waste their time on video game companies. What does that accomplish for their goal? These Lizard Squad kids are just looking to cause problems wherever they can. It makes me believe that they are young and inexperienced, like they believe they are untouchable. But if they keep going at this rate, they will get caught.

Killzoner993524d ago

This only proves how threatened the so called PC Master Race is of the PS4. They have been salty since the PS4 was revealed and they will continue to be. You can't play PS4 exclusives on PC.

Ddavis5133524d ago

Just another anonymous copycat that didn't get attention as a child so they want to be famous for something. Very pathetic in my opinion. I feel for the children of tomorrow they are growing up in a world full of anti social nerds that are too afraid to get out and enjoy life so they ruin everyone else's from their computer.

Bottom line is that PSN was brought down....again. Also the money that Sony makes from PS+ is more than enough to pay the devs for the free games. Most of the free games are indies.

@eonjay what are you ranting about? And no my "bottom line" didn't mean what you said. I never said they all had it coming. Please comprehend.

Eonjay3525d ago

Okay, I have an analogy for you. Lets say I punch you in the face, and then tell you its your fault because you should have been able to stop me.

Your argument isn't valid because they started by attacking smaller companies. According to your "bottom line", they all had it coming. You place no responsibility whatsoever on the perpetrators. They are basically being bullies.

MasterCornholio3525d ago (Edited 3525d ago )

Unlike you I don't support this group attacking any company because in the end it ruins the experience for the consumer. If they brought down Xbox Live I would hate them for it because Xbox One owners have the right to enjoy the services that Xbox Live gives them.

Also the bomb threat to the CEO of SOE shows how far they are willing to go.

I don't support them and neither should you even though they are attacking a firm that you don't like.

tiffac0083525d ago

Sadly, not everyone is mature enough to think that way. Instead of wishing for these culprits to fail, some would actually support them because of their misguided agenda.

I guess, the console war is far too big of a thing for some people. smh

tiffac0083525d ago

I guess with that logic NCSoft, CCP Games, LoL and Blizzard were brought down too. lol!

Rimeskeem3525d ago

Xbox love is having the same troubles right now. Infact on the last 6 months Xbox live has been shut down more times than psn

Sayai jin3525d ago

Are you keeping an imaginary score? What do you mean by down? Based on what info?

Some of the people seem like they are very immature saying things like. but but Sony did this or but but MS didn't do this. Give it a rest.

Anyways, these hackers are terrible. They are a dangerous bunch of fools. They will regret it soon thogh, now they have agencies looking into them.

Kiwi663525d ago

XBL has been back up for hours and it was fixed quickly and it only effected a small number of users as the majority had no issues signing in

incredibleMULK3524d ago

What's weird is that I was able to log into PSN multiple times yesterday while people kept saying it was "down". A lot of people are blowing this out of proportion.

iceman063524d ago

I wouldn't say "blowing it out of proportion". There were a fair amount of people that did experience down time. However, it appeared to be rolling issues. I was playing fine with someone on the East coast. He was hit and it took the better part of 2 hours to hit me in the Midwest. (USA) After that, it was spotty at best.

dantesparda3524d ago

57 disagrees with 1 agree, yet still not marked for trolling on a so called Sony fanboy site. Yet i see Sony fanboys getting marked for "trolling, immature, off topic, bad language", with just a couple of disagrees all the time here. Now watch me get tagged for "off topic trolling or immature or something or get a bunch of disagrees. This site is funny. MS fanboys are relentless.

PSN is back up and it was done so in less than 24 hours. Expect to hear news about arrests within the next couple of weeks. I'm sure the person(s) involved don't understand that this is a federal crime, but they are going to find out in the next few weeks.

CorndogBurglar3525d ago

Even if they didn't realize that DDOS is a federal crime, they DID know that calling bomb threats is, as their tweets even mocked the FBI to come catch them.

r213525d ago

I honestly hope they catch the douchebag(s) as soon as possible. First, it was just annoying, then it got worrisome and just plain horrible. They even decided to put ISIS on the spotlight, as if they werent already making a bad name of muslims everywhere.
