I was a huge magic fan but I never managed to enjoy it's video games. If there is no possibility to create a completely customized deck they can keep it.

KendrickLamar3665d ago

Well I never played any of these games on my PS3.

One thing for sure is, Microsoft definitely payed them to keep it off of PlayStation.

its_JEFF3665d ago

... I just don't get why? Why this title? Are actual "Physical" Magic players into the videogame version? I've never played any of the videogames or the card version.

TomShoe3665d ago

Well, it's not confirmed yet. This is probably like Murdered: Soul Suspect when they announced it for XBO and then didn't show the PS4 version until later. At best, Microsoft paid for marketing rights, and at worst, it's a timed exclusive, like PVZ: Garden Warfare.

@its_JEFF: You should consRider trying the physical card game it really is great. Very strategic and excellent for anyone who likes fantasy art.

The video game is a good way to learn the game but not as good As the actual card game. It'll be a shame if they don't release it on PS but no big deal.

tbone5673665d ago

It is known to be more an Xbox series anyway. What's the big deal?

Bigpappy3662d ago (Edited 3662d ago )

This game pull enough gamers to pay for. More than likely, they just did the Xbox version because they already had it on PC and the port required on effort, plus they already had decent success on Xbox going back to the first Xbox. So they have a pretty long history with Xbox.

These video games are terrible compared to playing the game in person and the current line of Magic video suck in comparison to the original Duels of the Planeswalker game from the 1990's by Microprose.

O well there stupid enough to not release there game to 6 million people that owns a ps4

jackdaniels3665d ago

do you really think all 6 million people would buy it? good god man, I wish i had your simplistic view of life, it must be so blissful!

Moe-Gunz3665d ago

Essentially what he is saying is why not release it on something that has a bigger install base to increase your chances of getting more customers? Your reaction is ridiculous. Anyone could understand what the OP said.

This game should be multiplat for both Microsoft and Sony. As others have said Magic games haven't been the best and they should try to get as much customers as possible. Seems like the best idea for the developers. PS4 wasn't confirmed, still might go.

Sethry1013665d ago

You release on the bigger instalbase because it gives more people the chance of buying it. The less people who own the consol the less there are to be possible buyers. Its statistics and probability.

Hicken3665d ago

That's not the point, smart guy. The point is they're cutting themselves off from that many potential buyers.

Which isn't a wise idea.

I play a fair amount of paper MtG as well as at least 2 copies of each Duels of the Planeswalkers each year. DotP offers a nice distraction for the days that you can't get friends together to play real MtG. It doesn't have full deckbuilding, but if it offered that, what would be the point of the paper card game? These are nice bite sized MtG offerings at a bite sized price. I'll take it.

TheOneWhoIsTornApart3665d ago

I play with physical cards but I really enjoy the Duels of the Planeswalkers games a lot. I am playing 2014 right now and have the DLC decks and am having a blast. Each pre made deck has 40 cards you can unlock and makes each deck much better and you can also edit them.Have you played the newest one?.

Magic 2015 (Xbox One) Review - Gaming Nexus

From the review: "Magic 2015 is like taking 2 steps forward and one step back. While true deck building has finally been added, the loss of other modes that have become staples of the series diminishes its overall impact. This is still a solid offering for fans of the classic trading card game. This is about as close to Magic as you can get without actually dealing out the cards."

StarCityGames - Garruk's Revenge Expansion Review

The Garruk's Revenge expansion was released for Magic 2015: Duels of the Planeswalkers last week. The new additions ended up doing wonders for the game by adding some strong, fun-to-play-with cards while also making it a lot easier to acquire some of the strongest cards in the game that you would've had to pay for previously.
