The Evil Within 2 Leaked by Reddit Ads - "The Only Way Out Is In"

A few Reddit ads just leaked The Evil Within 2, the sequel to the survival horror game released by Shinji Mikami in October 2014.

Hope they've improved the story structure and voice acting but they need to focus on the horror side of it. Evil Withkn got too action like by the end of the game.

The first part of the game, going in creepy houses and setting off events where they'd crawl through windows and you had to hide...that was great not to mention that level where Ruvvik would randomly spawn and hunt you down

I'd prefer Mikami to work on Vanquish 2, but I know that's impossible now...Too bad.

^^Impossibl3 exactly ...i wouldnt like to see another Evil Within (good game but no need for a sequel) ...he should be doing the next Vanquish or Dino Crisis

I'm not sure why they would look to not Make money.

He does not own the Vanquish intellectual-property Sega does

he does not own Dino Crisis Capcom does

So in order for those games to even be worked on by him he would have to essentially have his company break whatever contract that they have with Bethesda to work on those projects.

Mind you I'm pretty damn positive he can't just barge into those companies and demand to work on those properties lol

I think the best thing for him to do now is to build The Evil Within brand like he did Resident Evil. Evil Within is essentially everything Resident Evil probably should have been with 4. (Gameplay-wise)

@EDMix ....neither Evil Within belongs to him what you r saying?....he just worked as director in all these games...and he neither works for a specific developper ...if Capcom wanted (had the gut to admit they r talentless to make worthy games like Dino and original Resi ) could hire him again to lead their projects .. he is a freelancer now and if he hasnt retired form making games (has some age to be honest) could be working on everything

I really, really hope the voice acting is better. I don't think these Japanese developers even realise just how bad the English voices are in their games.

It's so bad & insanely cringe worthy that it takes you right out of the game because it literally makes you laugh out loud. I'd say it's the biggest area Japanese developers need to improve on if they're serious about bringing their games to the West.

The sad thing is the person who voiced Kidman, Jennifer Carpenter from Dexter/White Chicks, was pretty decent and could have been directed better if she was the main character instead.

I felt I got more out of her voice acting wise in the DLC then the main game.

That's all handled by whatever company is releasing and publishing the game in the West. Japanese game companies have no control over English voice acting. Western publishers handle translations, text, cultural changes, dubbing audio, etc.

Also, the voice actor of Sebastian is Anson Mount, star of the excellent Hell on Wheels. I remember being excited when I found out that he was the lead voice role. People oversell how bad it was, especially for English voices in Japanese developed games, but it was really disappointing. Anson Mount is great on screen.

I hope they change a few things ,ditch the main character he was so boring and forgettable and no more apocalyptic \ other dimension crap .

He had a backstory, it was just hidden behind stupid journals

He fell is love
Got married
Had a kid
Child died in a house fire
They start to drift apart
Wife decides to look into it
People think she's crazy when she uncovers it wasn't an accident
He develops a drinking problem
She goes missing
People brush him off thinking she's just left him

It's sad but that's the sort of stuff which should have been expressed in cutscenes.

It got actioned based in like Chapter 5/6 and there was 15 Chapters

If it was the last 3-4 chapters fair enough but it started getting there far too early.

Mikami said this TEW was his last game he'd ever work on.

The game was fine, i just had problems with its animations and old school PS2 designs methods. after playing games where characters react to situations more realistically in presentation and animations. Playing as Sebastion really took away from the scare.

Yeah like if you met up with your partner and something horrifying happens they wait until a cutscene 5 mins later before they react.

Hopefully they don't forget that you get your leg slashed by a chainsaw in the very beginning, limping around in pain until you go up in the magical lift of life and suddenly your leg and limp is all but forgotten.

I actually liked the first one but needed more polish overall and a bit of work on the framerate.

I'm incredibly pumped for a new Wolfenstein. The New Order is one of my favorites this gen. If Bethesda has nailed one thing this gen, it's been successfully reviving iconic shooters in Wolfenstein, Doom, and possibly Quake..

Agreed the first Dead Space is easily the best survival horror game all of last generation!

Enjoyed Dead Space 1 and 2 far more than I enjoyed Resident Evil 5 and I completely skipped 6.

It's too bad things got really crappy with Dead Space 3

Mikami knows how to do horror TPS games, that's why i loved and platinumed the first one+DLCs.

nah that was just bad game design i was very careful with my ammo i learned it was important early on so i was very reserved i never played a game where that has happened and i could not go back or run pass to look for more at that point which was stupid as hell they left me stuck with 4 bullets and 3 enemies that took a ridiculous amount of head shots to drop i could do nothing but die.

We can only hope... there's still a massive amount of potential within the Dead Space universe, though, poor Isaac has probably had his fill of the Necromorphs 10x over. I'm willing to forgive DS3, if EA would devote the proper focus and resources towards reviving the IP.

playing the first one on ps4 now... not as good as i thought it would be... in the 3rd or 4th chapter and finding it a bit frustrating at times...

have no real desire to go back to it. thats the crappy think about digital games. 20 dollars down the drain. if it was physical i could turn around and sell now cus i doubt i'll be playing it more.
