Resident Evil 7 score..... 😳 !

BigBosss2654d ago

9/9/9/9 woow :O

Can't wait!

naruga2654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

from the leaks i ve seen until now ...its proved that i was absolute right ..the game is s#$t ...from story and gameplay perspective ...some even say its closer to RE movies than the games (WTF Capcom??) ....as for the high score reviews see FOXtrot below ....

blitz06232654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

They gave RE6 a 39/40. Make of that what you will

bouzebbal2654d ago

Famitsu are some corrupt bastards..they don't know the meaning of loyalty, honor or objectivity.
Of course, doesn't mean the game is bad but they should be some of the last I would trust

rocketpanda2654d ago

They gave Umbrella Corps 36/40 - 9/9/9/9

Regardless how good RE7 might be, famitsu is a biased publication.

Neonridr2654d ago

possibly a return to glory here. I can't wait. One more week. Going to give it a go in VR! :P

inStereo2654d ago

I could barely get through the damn PSVR demo or REVII... I am afraid... very afraid...

2653d ago
-Foxtrot2654d ago

They always give Japan games amazing scores.

I know people are going to shit on me anyway for this but...

http://www.polygon.com/gami...

"Resident Evil 6 (10/10/10/9, 39 out of 40 points)"

Even though it's appalling how RE6 got that score anyway it actually got lower then Resident Evil 6...

Neonridr2654d ago

actually that's a good point. Still, I think this game will be good. Let's just hope there is enough gameplay here.

IamTylerDurden12654d ago

Publications don't have the same person reviewing every game...

curtis922653d ago

Different times, different circumstances, different reviewers. Look how many crap games got higher scores than TLOU on Polygon.

-Foxtrot2653d ago

curtis92

Don't try and spin it

RE5 got the near exact score as RE6...like a point off

Again beating RE7

Did you forget 40/40 on FF XIII

morganfell2654d ago

And? Many of us loved and still love that game.

Letthewookiewin2654d ago

I Platinumed FFXIII I loved it so much. Didn't care for the 3rd one though.

BlakHavoc2654d ago

What's that score even mean? Lol 9/10? And if so, why so many damn 9's?...

Tankbusta402654d ago

I am kinda worried about Resident Evil, people are beating it in under 10 hours, there are no extra modes after completion or another character to run through a modified version of the house. I am sure the game is fun, but I am beginning to question whether 7-10 hours of game play is worth the 60 bucks or a wait.

bwoodling2654d ago

I'm going to wait for a sale on PC. I always tell my self I have other games to finish.

Tankbusta402654d ago

Yeah I hear you, Resident Evil is my second favorite series of all time, and I know the first game(my absolute fav in the series was short) but at least you had incentive to run through it again with the character you didn't choose for a slightly different experience, this game offers none of that

IamTylerDurden12654d ago

Tankbusta

RE7 is completely different from the typical RE formula, which is a good thing considering it was getting a bit tired. This is a 1st person RE that's a little more akin to an Outlast type game. RE6 had numerous characters you could play as, but i prefer the model they've chosen for RE7 instead.

Sm30002653d ago

Dude it's 33 on cdkeys!

Gamist2dot02654d ago

You can wait and read through many reviews. Also, some gamers are more advanced than others. :/

Tankbusta402654d ago

The guy who beat it in 10 hours got all but one of the collectibles, which was what really got me concerned. First play through, ten hours almost got everything, that means they didn't rush and actually searched.

Again I am not worried about the quality of the game, but rather the fact that it is short and has little to no replay value after completion.

IamTylerDurden12654d ago

Run time has little correlation with quality, especially these days. Is AC better bc they pad it out with redundant activities and side quests? Is God of War bad bc it can be beat relatively quickly and has little replay vslue? Inside was nominated for goty and it's only a few hours long. I'm an adult, i work and i game and i honestly do not want every game to be Skyrim. I can afford to buy the games i want so i don't need every game to be absurdly long in order to get my monies worth. I love 100 hr rpgs, but i also relish shorter experiences like God of War or Wolfenstein The Old Blood.

BlackTar1872654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

how much would you pay to watch 5 new 2 hrs movies in theaters? The Cost per hour isn't that far off and VGs are much more hands on obviously you have a controller.

Also to add most movies are less then 2 hrs so it would actually be like paying for 6 movies in a theater,

Utalkin2me2653d ago

It would be 30 bucks in my area if you went to matinees or 40 for regular price.

ZeroX98762654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

You can clear resident evil 2 in less than 10 hours, same for 3 (was shorter actually) on first play through. Considering there's a hard mode in resident evil 7 and the amount of work needed for such graphics is quite high, I would say 10 hours is similar to the other titles in the series.

most play through I looked at for Resident evil 7 are between 8 to 10 hours and that's not considering every collectables. Plus this is in normal mode.

_-EDMIX-_2654d ago

Buddy I'm pretty positive most of the people on here don't even play the older Resident Evils to know that.

TalesofEvil2654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

There is a hard difficulty called madhouse and, It has a lot more difficult enemies barely any bullets plus, u need casset tapes to save.

IamTylerDurden12654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

10 hrs is fine, idk how much more i could take in VR anyway. If you are nervous then play the demo, it should give you a better idea of the game than speculation based on run time. The demo is great on PSVR.

kowan2654d ago

"here are no extra modes after completion"
There is, and it's called the madhouse mode which is the hardest difficulty in the game and changes many things in the game as well.

And seriously, 10 hours is too short for you? Earlier RE games can be beaten in less than that. Other games like TLOU can be beaten in 10 hours and so on.

-Foxtrot2654d ago

Apparently it's pretty linear aswell

You'll always know where you're going and what items to use

-Foxtrot2654d ago

Considering the fact the older games, you know actual Resident Evil games would give you puzzles spread out over a huge map and you would have to traverse it back and forth to see what goes where. It didn't point you in the right direction, it didn't give you one road to go down, it literally made you figure it out yourself while you tried to survive through all the traps and enemies lurking around each new corner.

If you only have a limited number of places to go and items you find are obviously used in the next area then I'm sorry yeah...it's a bad thing no matter what way you want to spin it. Sounds more like a jump scare survival game rather then a pure survival horror game.

Not to mention the Baker family are scripted unlike someone like Nemesis in RE3.

Kurdishcurse2654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

naaah. play the game or link some proof. this is a mansion were talkin about. i doubt it will be linear as ppl think.

-Foxtrot2654d ago

Link proof?

Just go over to The Gaf, Reddit or 4chan where they are talking about it and showing off videos. I'm not discussing spoilers here.

BlackTar1872654d ago

The nemesis if i remember correctly had 1 or 2 places that he could show up that wasn't the same every time and i thought that was dependent on if you shot him enough in the scene before.

rocketpanda2654d ago

Length doesn't factor in if the experience is worthwhile. Some games just aren't made to be played hours on end or with various modes.

Shortest game I own is Vanquish, which can be beat easily under 10 hours, but is my favorite last gen game.

If asking 60 for a short game, then some might want to wait for a sale.

Kurdishcurse2654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

i beat resi remake in 9 hours and its still the best resi evil to date imo. unlike resi 4 , quality over quantity anyday.

but lets say people beat it in under 10 hours, what was the difficulty? did they rush it? its known the game has a ton of secrets, upgrades and side quest items to unlock said secrets and upgrades, and none of which are mandetory. so which is it?

to be honest, i see many morons setting this game up to fail since this was announced, so forgive me for questioning your judgement. especially since you mentioned you dont think 10 hours is worth 60 bucks. that would mean you barely bought most games out last year, or you like to take it slow. if its the latter, then you will have no issue with this game.

_-EDMIX-_2654d ago

??? Most Resident Evils are around 10 hours......

TalesofEvil2654d ago

People are rushing through the game so, that's why they are beating It in 10 hours, if u are like me and, take your time the game they said will last 15 hours long.

TalesofEvil2654d ago

Btw don't judge the game yet its not out yet and, reviews haven't came out yet either.

Zarock2654d ago (Edited 2654d ago )

Considering the game only costs 30$ on PC It's well worth being 10 hours long.

joethetimelord2653d ago

For a horror game, especially one that's actually scary, it's about average. Silent Hill 2 was 6-8 hours.

Lukejrl2653d ago

I beat 1 to 3 in under 10 hours. 4 was about 12 or 13 my first play through

Holy shit... Lookit all them vita games. Nice to see re7 getting some love. And agreed.. It is worrysome because re6 did not deserve the praise it got... Biased raters? I think so!

Pathogenic2654d ago

I will be buying this game but I need to know. I haven't played six but I played upto 5. Do I need to play six or just watch the latest RE film back in 2012?. Let me know because I already know the ending to RE7.

BlackTar1872654d ago

Dude

Don't play 6 and don't watch the movies. You've made ti this far without doing either i strongley recommend you listen to the inner voice that is screaming at you to listen to me.

gangsta_red2654d ago

Play 6 so you can appreciate how good 7 may be by it returning to it's somewhat roots!

joethetimelord2653d ago (Edited 2653d ago )

Play 1 through 4, 0, Code Veronica, and Revelations 1-2. All you really need.

Helios862654d ago

NEIN! NEIN! NEIN! NEIN!

Guess they didn't like RE7 :(

TalesofEvil2654d ago

How is that? 9 is very good.

DragonDDark2654d ago

Nein in German means No lol

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker27m ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo17m ago(Edited 15m ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing697m ago(Edited 6m ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto5h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger885h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
