This game is taking forever. Still my most anticipated PC game.

ONESHOTV22831d ago

there is no reason to rush the game some console games take 9 years to finish so why rush star citizen

joab7772831d ago

The difference here is that we are seeing everything as it happens. Most game, we don't even hear about until a yr before launch.

As ambitious as this is, it will take awhile. But it's cool how we can actually see it develope, as well as take part in it. Yes, it is agonizing at times, but I think it's coming along quite nicely.

DiscoMan2831d ago

9 years? You have an example?

ONESHOTV22831d ago

Brotherman------ here is a list

Prey: 1995-2006 (11 years)

Duke Nukem Forever: 1996-2011 (15 years)

Too Human : 1999-2008 (9 years)

L.A. Noire: 2004-2011 (7 years)

Shenmue: 1994-2000 (6 years)

@OneshotV2 - You preach 'Console games take 9 years' and your freaking examples are, at majority... PC Games....

DNF being delayed isn't due to Consoles, it was because of development hell by incompetent devs at 3DR and them tossing the game back and forth between numerous publishers and not delivering any content or being able to be content with whatever they made.

Prey was very similar and it was connected to very similar people who were involved with DNF. Both these two games were connected to 3DR who, again, just couldn't make anything good after DN3D

Too Human - people can just read the wiki to see the state of which the devs, Silicon Knights were going through many partnership difficulties of Sony to then Nintendo, to then Microsoft which kept delaying the game and needing to be redone. It has nothing to do inherently with 'Consoles'.

Idunno, your list is grasping at straws, though I can't say your bias or original point of saying 'Consoles to blame' or are 'generally take 9 years to finish'. A massive generalization of console development when you can list 5 Games and insinuate that these 5 are the staple of 'console development' amongst the sea of thousands upon thousands of other console games over the course of the 15 years-time (Since DNF is 15 years as max time)

ONESHOTV22831d ago (Edited 2831d ago )

"Your list is comprised of games that have been thrown around, put on the back burner, and or untouched for many of those years. SC has been in constant production"

he asked for a list so i gave him one why complain they are games right . another thing i dont even think half of you people that's complaining will buy the game so why are you guys looking at it if you are not going to support the game it's like me going to a nintendo forum to go and complain about mario which i'm not going to buy. no one care what your thoughts are just leave the game up to the devs they know what they are doing it's not the first game they created. i think no man sky would fit your needs better so go and support that

nitus102831d ago

From what I can gather (at least from the hype) this game can only run on hi-end PC's, which kind of limits the market. Also, there are some early adopters that are not happy with the development's progress and the direction it's taking.

TLG is 10 years and look like ps2 game...

Captain_Tom2830d ago

LMFAO - "Some". If by "some" you mean a number you can count on 1 hand out of decades of gaming.

Any game that takes more than even 5 years basically was just a game that was made for 2 years, and then had to be completely made again. If it takes you 9 years to make a game - any work you did in the first 3 will be obsolete by the last 3 years.

It's an ambitious project, so I'm not too surprised. I haven't really been keeping much of an eye on it because it'll still be a year or so before it really begins to take shape. Here's hoping it delivers!

freshslicepizza2831d ago

the crowd funding was insane and this is going to be one the largest games ever released, no rush.

medman2831d ago (Edited 2831d ago )

@shadowknight
After The Witcher 3, I think for me the title of most anticipated PC has to go to Cyberpunk 2077. I know, I know, it will probably come to console also, especially after the sales success of The Witcher 3 on console, but CD Projekt is killing it. I have little doubt that Cyberpunk will be absolutely beyond phenomenal.

This game looks incredible! This is what happens when you take advantage of PC hardware.

medman2831d ago

I plan to take advantage of Star Citizen with a 1080ti or TitanX......

ONESHOTV22831d ago

same i'm going for the 1080 TI though if it comes out i will just use my 970 fro PhysX.

OoglyBoogly2830d ago

I hope you don't plan on taking advantage of DX12.

nitus102831d ago

Please define PC hardware. I personally have a hi-end PC as far as processor and memory go but since I have no real interest in PC games I don't need a powerful graphics card although I could easily afford the best. My primary operating system is not Microsoft Windows but Linux since it does what I want and I can run any operating system I choose in a virtual machine.

Most PC's purchased today are actually not as powerful as the current consoles and the average display is normally 1080p in the ranges of 21" to 28". Yes, there are hi-end PC's with impressive specs but out of all the PC's on the market today, they are very much in the minority.

starchild2831d ago

Irrelevant. There are probably more PCs with performance equal to or greater than the PS4 and XB1 than there are of those consoles sold.

It doesn't matter though. All I care about is how my PC runs games. Why should I care if there are 15 million or 50 million people that have a similarly powerful PC?

Ysmir67232831d ago

The average pc today is at the very least 3 times more powerful than a cheap, low quality console. The minority is running 5k right now.2010 pcs are easily faster than consoles.I care for my sli 1080s/5820k,not an ancient 7850 with a 40 tablet cpu which cant even beat a pour fx 4300.

ONESHOTV22831d ago

nitus10------ dude unless you are a programmer ubuntu is a no go for if you want to play 90% of the games released on windows. and i would personally would love to see what type of high end processor you have you dont have to type it here you can pm it to me i wouldn't want to make you look bad if something goes wrong another thing next time dont follow those steam charts they only collect a small amount of data compared to the whole pc community some people dont like steam going in their system i dont like it as well so most of the time i dont let them do a scan of my rig and trust me i'm well above the console when it comes to power.

That is what most 15 year olds waiting for this game right now will look like by the time SC comes out.

peppeaccardo32d ago

Personal Hangars sound brilliant for what is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious games in the galaxy.
.
And worth it too, you only need to make a $10,000 donation…
.
..to get on the waiting list.

Knightofelemia33d ago

Just a giant blackhole simulator sucks up everything in sight really loves money from the fools.
