Battlefield 4 PS4 and Xbox One servers get higher tickrate this week

Today we are happy to announce that we are increasing the default simulation (tickrate) of our 32 player servers for Battlefield 4!

This means ALL PlayStation 4 & Xbox One small servers (32 players and smaller) will now run at 45hz compared to the previous default rate of 30hz.

This increase improves ALL networking delays of the game by ~11ms per action – a massive impact on the second-to-second gameplay.

That sorry excuse ripoff in the vein of Star Wars? It's on sale for 30 dollars right now and I wouldn't pay more than maybe 15. Games a DLC dump and I could care less about anything the game has to offer because of this. 2.1/10 A giant smelly crap stain EA tainted yet again. Battlefront should of had another year and a half and not hyped to sell like AC and Destiny are/was. GIVE US GOOD GAMES THAT ARE NEXT GEN WITH NEXT GEN FEATURES COMPANIES! RB6 ONLY HAS 3 GAME MODES IN MULTIPLAYER AND 5v5?! GAMES OF THE PAST REKT THE GAMES OF THE FUTURE. PRAISE WITCHER 3!!!!

Every game goes on sale. Most games go on sale like this.

True they pushed out Battlefront early, but as it stands, it's a great game for less dev time then Call of Duty gets, which has a formula. This was 100 percent from the ground up. It's also a fun game. It also looks great. It's also a stepping stone, and I can't wait for the next one... as it will be easier to make the next one. They also gave a free map recently, and are likely to do more as time goes on.

Battlefield is a game over two years old. They have continued to support it with free new maps, and now a server tickrate increase even though this game is over two years old. The support for Battlefield 4 has been exemplary and over the top. People want to hate, but the simple fact is this game has been supported similarly to Witcher 3. It had a rough start, but let's see if Witcher 3 is giving us new free stuff around the middle of 2017 which is comparable to what EA is doing with Battlefield 4.

Have you even played Rainbow Six Siege? There was an open beta. If you had, you'd know it's a tactical game, not a run and gun or a big battlefield. 5 vs 5 is great for this game. Anymore would be a clusterf, and even at 5v5, it can be. Complaining about 5v5 in RB6:Siege is asinine to the extreme. It's a game whose style is made for 5v5. I don't see SWAT teams with 32-64-128 people having a big battle. It also is supported with free maps and free operators. In case that doesn't come clear enough, EVERY MAP IS FREE in Rainbow Six: Siege.

The simple fact is, all these games are being supported well by the dev far more then anything I've seen from FPS for over a decade. So in reality, games of now are better supported then games of the past 10 or so years.

...and all of them have support like Witcher 3... which is funny, because Witcher 3 also had some horrible problems at launch. Still has quests bugs, etc, etc. It's a great game, but if you want to know what games have seen some great dev support like Witcher 3.....

I'm sorry but many of you guys completely exaggerated Battlefront.

Nothings wrong with the game it's a fun game and for what it's worth it has an OK amount of content.

Again stop referencing RPGs to other games in terms of content you're not talking about the same genre.

13 million people say otherwise to Battlefront being a bad game.
Nothing wrong with Witcher 3 merely that people keep trying to make it sound as if they've never played an RPG before.

Some of the stupidest moot points have been how long it is are some of you people seriously telling me you've never played an RPG past 100 hours?

Considering BF4 was a launch title with the current console two years ago now, you're asking for a fair bit that will not happen. I find BF4 to actually look amazing on my PC though, console version are far grittier to look at (I've put most of my time into the console version btw).

BF5 should look even better come the end of 2016!

The PC version has been fiddling with high tickrate servers for awhile now. Also Venice Unleashed has opened BF3 servers to higher tickrates. Basically the PC version of Battlefield is the way to go.

I think they would sruggle on console to have battlefront graphics with 64 players, though content wise shouldnt be a problem that just takes time.

There is also alot more physics in play with battlefield, it would be nice if cloud computing was not in its infancy with consoles and it was just a tool that online focused devs took advantage of I believe we would see some spectacular games.

Well there is alot more on the physics side happening in the background which adds more stress to the cpu. I'm no game developer but I know the more stuff like that going on it has to be compensated elsewhere

i just dont get how they are doing this with no actual physical update at all... i mean if it was that simple then why did it take 2 years? been playing all morning on 45 with no update and i have auto update turned off ... soooo its kinda puzzling unless i guess they laid the ground work for it in the previous patched or something :/ dunno ... either way hope bf5 starts off as good as bf4 is now ... then maybe we will get the dice style game we have been missing the past few years at this point :/
