PS Plus: Free Games for July 2015

Prepare yourselves for a free games lineup the likes of which you’ve (probably) never seen! We’ve got rocket-powered cars, stealthy goblins, science cats,and even a little dab of arthouse wonder for good measure. All free starting next week for PS Plus members.

This month’s lineup includes four games playable on PS4, starting with the multiplayer mayhem of Rocket League. Use insane stunts and teamwork to score points in this fast-paced arcade game that even features a wholesome little cameo from Sweet Tooth, our favorite demonic ice cream truck.

Also included is the fantasy stealth game Styx: Master of Shadows, and the head-scratching puzzles of Mousecraft. And if you’re still not satisfied, why not embark upon an adventure that spans nine lifetimes in the surreal story of Entwined?

The PS+ version is the full game. The Rocket League beta was last month and it was some of the most fun I've had in years. Incredibly addictive.

I absolutely loved the first game, so I'm so excited for Rocket League! That is going to be insanely fun with friends!

Styx looks interesting as well, it's a game I wouldn't have bought myself. So, I'm really happy I get a chance to check it out.

RAIN and Entwined for me this month.

Games like RAIN is what reminds me that games can occasionally transcend the normal/overused and tired entertainment formulas.

I'm actually going to buy the PC version too to support these guys because this game is the most fun i've had in years.

I think Rocket League is more than worth it. Probably the best Multiplayer experience of 2015 so far, it's the most refreshing thing out there. I can't speak for the other games, but Rocket League is definitely worth it for me.

Geometry wars and Rocket League are both huge for me. Two spectacular games. Also I've wanted to try out Styx so I'm actually happier with this month than I have been with the free games in a long time.

Rocket League is an amazing game. Geometry wars is an excellent shoot em up. I don't know much about the others. Was really hoping for La Mulana or another of the spring fever titles to be available.

Very happy to get Styx. It has been on my Steam list for a while. Looks solid and fun. Rain looks like a nice little Indie diversion. I have found at least one game to play every month since getting PS+ the day the PS4 released. I got a PS3 since then for all the exclusives I missed, and the free games on it are just gravy.

Styx is a fantastic game on PC, hopefully in transfers well to consoles. It's brutal and completely stealth-driven. It gives you a ton of different ways to tackle assignments.

It's locked 60FPS, too! Should be a phenomenal game on Vita. Vita's small analog sticks may not be the best for FPS games, but daaaaaammmnn they're a good size for twin sick shooters.

well..these ps3 games had a longer shelf time then any ps4 game at this moment, you want witcher 3 on plus or something? Plus isn't meant for you to get the top games out now for free but to give you games you may have missed

peoples entitlement is too high nowadays. Did everyone forget how shoddy ps3 online was compared to Xbox last gen?? It was cause it was free thats why. Be glad we get a good selection of what they can get rights to each month

Do you know condescending you come off? You make up a hypothetical argument (Irishguy95 never ONCE says their point has ANYTHING to do with the PS4), I reply to that and then you defend something that is completely contradictory to my stance (I said across the board, not in terms of the PS4) and then tell me to be patient. It just amazes me how some people will go to any length to defend PlayStation Plus, when there was a noticeable drop in quality.

Like go look at the last three months and compare it to those a year ago. June had Sly/2K14/Terraria, May had Puppeteer/PES/Skullgirls, July was Dead Space 3/Muramasa, where as the past three this year were Guacamelee/Ground Zeroes/Rocket League. Thats a pretty big dip regardless of how you look at it. =\

No that's what happens when you continue to bend over for corporations. People complained about games with gold and now it looks like one triple a and one indie a month now. If you don't complain why would they make improvements. Apparently every one here is hyped for rocket league, so hyped no one cares enough to buy it though..... Demand more get more.

I know that people are going to complain (like always) about this months free games. But the Rocket League beta was great. I was definitely going to buy it day one, so I am pretty happy to get it for free. I will definitely play Geometry Wars on vita. The newest one (on PS4) might be the most difficult twin stick shooter of this generation so far though. I thought that my Resogun/Stardust mastery would translate to me doing well at GeoWars. I was wrong.

Lots of people are hyped for Rocket League.

People will complain no matter what, it's sad. I don't like every game either, but I've gotten well over $100 worth of games I did like for $50 last year. If you like games (and I question if some of these people do) the service will pay for itself

Rocket League is a lot more fun than 80% of AAA games. You can easily find games like AC for less than $20 which is what Rocket League will be selling for.

It's weak for people who prefer playing sp games. As great as Tower Fall, Rocket League and other similar games have been, they are pointless to people like myself that prefer the sp experience.

Who needs Guilty Gear Xrd or Batman Arkham Origins: Blackgate for free titles when we get 3 amazing games instead!

First we have Rocket League! Which though it hasn't released is fair to say is going to an amazing title just as good as the critically acclaimed hit game Monster Madness: Grave Danger!

Then we have Styx:Master of Shadows, a gem so amazing that despite releasing a year ago I hadn't even heard of it until right now! What a treat!

That's not all though as we also get Minecra.. wait no I mean Mousecraft! Who needs Minecraft when you have Mousecraft. Another well received title.

I would just to like to thank Dear Leader Sony overlord Adam Boyes for bestowing upon us such an amazing lineup of titles this month!

If it isn't too much trouble I had a few requests of my own. Is there any chance we can throw in some Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, Haze and Sonic the Hedgehog (The BEST one from 2006) in there next month?

I mean if we are going to continue with releasing such quality titles for everyone why not give us the best of the best!

The simple, ugly truth that the church doesn't like to admit is that Sony simply doesn't care about delivering quality titles on Plus any more. You HAVE to buy plus now or you can't play online. They don't need any hook bigger than that to sucker you in any more. So why all the defense? Well because the faithful have spent years convincing people that Sony is better than all those other evil corporations because they actually care about gamers, and all of this quality sliding now that they're back on top just flies in the face of that.

I think that said it all. I merely balked at the idea that Sony is somehow superior or exceptional in this regard, and are somehow immune from criticism when they start letting quality go by the way side just because they no longer need to pander to core gamers to keep the cash flowing.

It's sarcasm. Were I still working at Gamestop and you were a customer I was randomly telling this to it would be properly conveyed but in text I apparently fail at it and have much to learn.

I have been saying for a solid year and a half or so that once the xbox games with gold hype dies down now that Playstation Plus is mandatory for PS4 we can expect the vast majority of games featured in the service to be indie games. More often than not I defend the indie games when people are complaining about them but this time they weren't just indie games they were all poorly reviewed indie games. So I just thought it would be funny to pretend to be super happy about it when I was indifferent. Then to show extreme irrational anger "in all seriousness" afterwords.

I don't quite know what to say about all the bitching about the games for plus. Personally I've downloaded countless great games over the years and not every month will be great. Glad to see the enthusiasm for Rocket League. I probably wouldn't have before reading here, but I think I'll check it out and see what all the talk is about.

sooo XBO gets Black flag and we get Indies. the PS4 has been out long enough to warrant giving away decent games such as killzone, knack, BF4 and Black flag. what happened to the big games PS+ used to give out. now thats PS+ is basically mandatory the free games no longer matter to sony. Rocket league looks like it could be fun. but it should really be one full release title and one indie title each month. we are far enough into the PS4 life cycle to warrant this.
